>friend asks which fallout game he should try (he watched the show)
>tell him 3 or 4 are probably better for him, but I like NV
>he starts NV
>keeps asking me where to go
>I tell him to follow the road
>he just keeps trying to walk in a straight line over the canyons/cliffs to New Vegas
>gets bored with the game
>few days later
>"dude Fallout 4 is so good!"

normie genocide when

NV does have terrible world design
>>
You can't though. You have to prod around for the entrance doors to the 10 underwhelming walled off interior cities made to accommodate PS3 limitations.
And you can't even climb to the peak of the tallest mountain in the middle of the map either, it's blocked by invisible walls once you're at the radio station.

the invisible barriers in that game are stupid, and removing them is the first mod i always install
>>
>>733794935
It has genius world design what are you talkin about mon? It gives you like four different ways to get to the strip from the starting point and three of those are certain death

PS3 version is peak soul
>>
>>733795085
the problem is the invisible barriers keep you out of the parts of the game they neglected to make

If they had that artillery piece why didn't they just relentlessly shell Ceasar's camp?
>>
>>733795371
You can get through them, cazadors especially can be bypassed if you cripple their wings
>>
in retrospect, this wasn't a very good game at all.

I know someone that doesn't play RPGs and he did manage to beat the game but he did almost nothing. He beelined Yes Man's quests as soon as he met him and didn't even think of exploring any other option.

The most fun part of NV for me is the long route journey to New Vegas, although, at this point I have a system and quest order plan made up for it, so unless I am roleplaying something specific, I know what to expect all too well.

If this is not at least good enough then gaming is shit.

I thought all the Bethesda games ran like shit on PS3?
>>

New Vegas is McDonalds. F4 is a Rustlers microwave burger. The former may be more palatable but they're both still disgusting slop.

you can literally walk to the gate of the strip as a level 1 character with no cheesing if you just crouch for about 10 seconds at black mountain
