>>733796668Amazing 3D shooter/platformer hybrid only held back by some weird development decisions (the deserts and useless weapons for example) and overall part of an amazing PS2 trilogy. Probably my favorite game of the series. Ratchet & Clank doesn't exist to me beyond the PS2.
>>733796668Haven't played it since I was 8. I liked the grind boots and the jet pack.
>>733796668It's good but so forgettable compared to 1 or 3. I've beaten it many times but each time forget what happened or what the levels were
In my humble opinion this is the worst PS2 ratchet game. We don't count Size matters because that was a PSP game. It's still a good game, it's just the worst . I really couldn't give you any concrete reasons either. The game always just felt a bit off to me.
>>733796668The planets where you could find crystals were very fun. The weapons were some of the best in the series. And I like the overal ''edge'' it still had.>>733797074Form your own opinions, fag.
>>733797646Fuck off faggot
>>733797343The only thing memorable about 3 was how shit and ugly it was.
>>733796668Like an 8.5, bretty good.
>>733796668Favorite game in the trilogy but has glaring flaws I won’t excuse like the desert and ice planet shit.
4/5very good but the slight tilt you had in 1 when you hung sideways with your magnetic boots was gone as was the animation of the killer fish opening their mouths when they ate you up.but those were minor nit picks and it has been ages since I played it last even though I do have the ps3 hd version.
>>733796668Isn't 2 the best one? It seems like everyone agreed it's objectively the best ratchet and clank game
>>733804140personally I thought it was the worst game in the quadrilogy
>>7337966688
>>733796668>& nothing elseI would say about a 4/10.Firmly believe that the different forked exploration paths is fantastic but the overwhelming majority of them ending with a minigame or non-core gameplay sequence absolutely kills the pacing of the game. Even worse is how most of those sequence like the glider are used at most 3 times in the whole game, so the first is always a tutorial.>facility planet with 2 paths>one ends with the glider sections with that fuckass nanotech upgrade>the other ends with a giant clank tutorial, of which there's one more sequence like it in the game anyway>megacorp games planet with 2 paths>one is 2 hookshot points before you're in the second and last hoverbike segment in the game>the other is decent platforming before you get the jetpack tutorial (of which is used twice? after this), the second and last arena (sick tho) and a tutorial for a second door opening toolOnly real part I still like is the backtracking to old planets like the extra boss on Oozla.I also don't care how much Insomniac has memed it since its release, I can't and will never excuse the Yetis.
7. 1 and 3 are better

>>733796668out of all the R&C games i always say Going Commando the most on displays even years after the game was released. I didn't play it until 2006 when the local target STILL had copies. Since i didn't really complete the whole game I will say I liked the first one more, I stopped playing around the part where you reach the armory where the robot decoy of the scientist guy was giving tours to the other robots so im not sure how far that was but i got bored with it halfway
Recently replayed all 4 recently (NG+ them many times as a teen). 2 is still great, used to be my favourite, but now 1=2=4. 4 is even better than I remember but it does have problems, and ones the others don't have. If I had to pick one to be the best, it'd be 1, it's still so crisp and refined, more than the rest. 3 is even worse than I remember, it's easily and by far the worst. It's funny watching those Insomniac developer videos talking about R&C and they thought it'd be a failure due to how rushed and bad the game was internally. It's such a shame they went down that multiplayer rabbit-hole. So many levels are just vehicle empty nonsense. 4 needs just remove or heavily change the vehicle nonsense, too. PS2 as good as it is, every franchise on it was obsessed with not-the-game, or, vehicle spam. Like Crash 3 (Playstation 1) is the worst by far because most of the game is not-Crash.It is a bit bittersweet replaying these amongst playing other PS2 games for the first time, R&C is just above nearly everything and by an awful lot. Even Jak has significantly worse audio engineering than R&C and is an overall far inferior product. Weird playing these old games now and having a much broader perspective and understanding.
>>733812104Forgot to add, R&C 2's detail to effects and sound is only second to 1, as 1 has so few weapons but they are perfected. The fact that the Blitz Cannon has a handful of graphical effects that are well-done and is one of the best sounding guns in all PS2 is impressive, only rivaled by some things in R&C 4. This is where R&C 3 massively shits the bed (amongst many other areas) where the guns just look and sound like shit in comparison. Developers and games that regress royally on aspects they have done right are just a sin to me. But sadly nearly every developer fails at this, even developers of GaaS with seasons/leagues (e.g. PoE) do this routinely. Lessons learned? Nah, break shit over and over.
>>733812104>R&C is just above nearly everything and by an awful lot.Even the Sly Cooper series? I preferred the Sly series over Jak and Ratchet, mostly because stayed faithful to platforming while the other series' installments leaned more on shooting
