Dear /v/.Since GOG started adding newer Total War games, which one of these three are actually worth playing, assuming Im not very familiar with series? Thanks in advance.
Play Medieval 2, Shogun 2, or Attila instead. All three of these are trash.
any, theyre all crap
>>733799194>atillaStop recommending a failed rome 2 mod they tried to sell at full price
>>733798237Shogun 2 or Rome 2
>>733799194Why exactly you suggest these three and why you called others trash?>>733799532Sadly, Shogun 2 is not yet available on GOG but surely will come at some point.
>>733799661If you are going off just those three, Rome 2. 3k has a better diplomacy component, but the gameplay is meh. Dynasties just feels off to me. I tried a few runs and got bored. They added a bunch of resources and units use multiple resources for upkeep. But the factions/units seem off to me. I get it is the time frame, but having a faction of shitty dudes on foot with clubs and spears against factions with wider unit selection was a turn off. There are ways to get other units, but it was too much of a hassle. With rome 2, you can play as one of the Roman houses and kill barbarians.
>>733798237ROME II is antiquity kino that you should experience
>>733798237Of those 3, only 3K. Records mode is half arsed, and its buggy, but its been the best total war experience in a long time.
>>7337982373 kingdoms is ok if you like dynasty warriors. The rest are hot garbage>3k>all the factions play the same minus 1 or 2 unique units >hero units out the ass>gay combat pentagram>the factions dont use ROT3K colors (wu is yellow???)>ai is particularly shit and can be easily exploited>solid 6/10 only because I like Lu bu and the setting >Rome 2>javlines and singers are absolutely broken>seige battles are buggy as hell>anything involving a boat is not fun >lmao the senate system is bad>all the side factions play the same>abandoned immediatly with tons of bugs and problems >ai is bricked, completely >solid 4/10 it was cool seeing Rome again. >Pharoah Never played it. Looked trash. Learned my lesson after Rome 2 to never play a historical title again.
Makes one wonder how Total War games still sells so good if each new game is apparently bad.
>>733799326Attila has better gameplay but shittier time period.
>>733798237Rome 2 is ok. Really, boils down to what historical periods you like.
>>733798237Do any of these games follow the First Crusade?
Pharaoh got such a bad wrap at launch but as it stands it’s one of the best Total War games ever. Just the way the battle’s are big enough to accommodate light infantry and light cav in the late game as scouts, the weather changing and affecting the battle, even small shit like how the economy works or each nation’s unique flavor; it really is underrated. I recommend giving it a try. I’ve been playing since Empire (plus Medieval 2) and it really impressed me
>>733806675>battle’sI’m retarded.battles
>>733798237Pick Rome 2.It was completely broken at launch but CA kept updating it for years until it turned decent enough.Three Kingdoms had a solid launch, but CA clearly had no idea of where to take it and kept adding more broken features and bugs with every update. They eventually scrapped all the DLC plans they had already announced and left it to rot.>ParaohNo one played this.
>newer Total War>actually worth playing
>>7337982373 Kingdoms is good, Pharoh is okay if you don't a tually play as Egypt and use chariots as little as possible.
