This game fucking sucks, the AI cheats, the unit design is retarded, infantry is too inconsistent, one dude annihilates your whole army if you're not careful, the path finding is awful even with the remaster improvements, I can't believe uncs think this trash is better than cnc3, although the kino cutscenes keep me playing, I hope red Alert 1 is better at least

yeah, medium tanks and humvees, the only 2 units that don't suck, but there's a very limited amount of tiberium on the map, if your attack wave fails it's gg, load save or restart, the AI has no resources and keeps pumping out flame thrower guy cancer, it's bad design man it's that simple, I wonder how the other ancient rts play, like warcraft 1

The game is actually realistic (to a point). It's not like Starcraft where you just build 200 marines and walk them in. You need to attack like a real army would. Tanks supported by infantry. The infantry is there to hold ground and provide mass (i.e things to shoot at that aren't your tanks).

APC = Armoured Personnel Carrier. It is your battle bus. It allows you infantry to keep up with your vehicles in transit and keep them from getting splatted, incinerated or poisoned by Tiberium on the way. When you get to your objective, unload and go to town. An APC can carry 5 troops. I recommend 3 rifle infantry, 1 grenadier and 1 rocket launcher per APC. Bring like 5 full APCs on your attack. The APC itself is also quite strong against anything except tanks.

The entire point of an APC is to shield your infantry. I'm pretty sure that the troops inside even survive (though are wounded) if the APC itself gets destroyed. You wanted to know how not to have all your infantry get wrecked by flamethrowers or whatever. Being inside the APC is how.

If you spam enough of anything fast enough you can beat the computer really. Actually using all the units in support of each other is how the game is set up to work best though. As I said earlier the game is supposed to be an at least somewhat realistic simulation of a real modern(ish) army using combined arms.
