The original release of this game was fine, great even. However the "inclusive" patch was the problem because they went through the trouble of making alternate sex versions of both characters, and would let you pick any combination of them (including M/M and F/F etc) EXCEPT the reverse of the original heterosexual pairing. >>733801163>>733801189>>733801316>>733801326The issue was honestly because the devs thought that >Tan, calm woman who likes taking care of plants and cooking + albino engineer autist man would be a "problematic stereotypical trope". The game itself is pretty great and I consider the 'canon' first heterosexual pairing to work out very well, but I wish they wouldn't have bothered making other options for the characters if they were going to simply cut one out because they were afraid it would make the usual suspects on social media have a shitfit. There is a >Mod called "Fourth Couple" that attempts to hack the combo in but I'll have to see how it progressed; last I checked it had some kludge considering that particular combo wasn't really intended , but its a start I guessOverall though its a pretty great game with the original couple (or probably the gay ones if you want that I guess?) though it leaves a sour fucking taste that they either decided or were cowed into censoring one couple arrangement. Anyway, I do wish they would have a sequel or some sort of DLC/expansion, because the endings as I recall make it seem like there should have been more (and maybe an extra ending for that matter).
