I didn't realize this was turn-based. pretty fun

There's some real strategy and co-op play to it too, I'm surprised.

It's the MMOdventure, after all. The point is to play dead or dying games.

>TTR gets 2000+ players on weekends and a steady 1000 during weekdays
>TTCC barely gets 200 nowadays
what happened?
>>
>>734076916
i think there was some tranny drama, corporate clash is infinitely more fun to play than TTR, vanilla toontown is pretty bland wish CC had either more players or just 1 or 2 districts so everyone wasn't split up
>>
>>734076916
CC was never that popular to begin with.
>>
>>734067229
I don't want to play games with trannies and jeets. Fuck off
>>
>>734076916
I think it's just that when people search this shit out they're looking for the experience they remember and are nostalgic for rather than some suped up new version, I know when I was feinding for a bump of nostalgia a couple years ago I ended up going with rewritten too.
>>
>>734076916
Pandering into the mental illness crowd, on top of internal drama and slow updates. Shame too, since the EXP System and new gags are actually pretty fun.

I believe they're going to PAX East as a 'last hurrah' to try getting people back into the game. Dunno how well that'll work though.

I've had my Toon since the minute the servers properly launched. Fucksake.
>>
More like Troontown, amirite?
>>
>not toontown rewritten but Cock Clash
Kys
>>
I would but then id realise id have to start to grind all my gardening suits, fishing etc again I left behind years ago
>>
>>734078216
the server that has no QOL chat features so everyone just talks on transcord because it's impossible to coordinate otherwise
>>
>>734076916
Rewritten was just always more popular and it creates a feedback loop where people go to TTR because it's more popular
TTR is also easier to learn, if you've played Toontown back in the day it's like riding a bike. TTCC is basically pretty close to a new game

There was drama a while back, think either 2024 or 2025, where the development team revealed they were internally splintered and their actual coder had long since been kicked out. The remaining team members are just a bunch of trannies who don't really know how to wrangle through all the coding and have been bumbling with updates ever since the public announcement. What was something like a few month update gap widened to more than half a year between any kind of content addition. That and the game itself attracts a lot of schizos with all the custom OC cogs and bosses, the attempts at trying to market these OCs bred some very loud-mouthed minority that turned the discord into a trans rights cesspool, and now it's just a slowly bleeding out corpse even though mechanically the game is better than Rewritten but no one wants to deal with the already dying playerbase.

Before it was t4 who would make most of the update posts but ever since he left, it's been nothing but "small patches" since with a rare "update" that actually does anything. The hours of downtime from a bug happening that takes hours to fix happened more times than I can count on my hand since the guy got killed. I can't help but think the game, which had around 600 or more people on weekends years ago, is now struggling to hit 300 because a lot of people can see the writing on the wall.
>>
>>734081895
>>734082094
It's a damn shame it went like this, because CC is a nice change of pace from Rewritten.
>>
>>734078273
gardening doesn't exist in this one
>>734079987
you forgot to mention how they kept teasing a shitton of cosmetic/qol updates for years before this all came to light with nothing actually coming out, then after it did and they reorganized they dropped an insane textwall blognuke detailing how actually they want to completely strip out the combat system for a new, more MMOlike one filled with skill trees nobody wanted (among probably 50 other random things making the game more generic to the point they may as well have launched it has a new game.) it's at https://corporateclash.net/news/article/171 if you feel like reading the worst feature creep of all time. the only major new content added since the fucking April fools boss has been them adding more shitty cog OC models into the game to lust over, it's insane
>>
>>734081895
>>734082094
it's really telling that the update post was close to a full year ago and they never fully recovered from it.
no sane dev wants to touch this shit with a 10 foot pole
im considering joining this but i remember how much of a fucking grind toontown was when i played it a decade ago, im a grown ass man with a 9 - 5 I dont wanna let the other anons down with my dwindling free time
>>
>>734082094
Yeah that article is fucking crazy. They basically go
>yeah we're overhauling the ENTIRE graphics engine of the game to enable new shit
And then they spend the next twenty paragraphs going
>here's something planned... that we can't do until the graphics overhaul is finished
>here's another awesome thing we're planning... that we can't do until the graphics overhaul is finished
>here's something we COULD do before the graphics overhaul... but we won't, because it'd be "duplication of effort"
>oh by the way we are completely reworking the game's core combat and progression systems to be a different game
>>
>>734082553
The grind in CC is not as dastardly as Rewritten (remember the infamous 300+ cog tasks at the end of Donald's Dreamland progression). I was honestly pleased with the differences in CC, especially some of the new in between and final gags as well as the Zap line. Zap was a cool idea and I also like the idea of executive cogs and the roaming map boss cogs that have unique mechanics. I just wish the game had more people because the new systems make the game feel like a different experience than Rewritten in a good way.
>>
>>734082463
Oh this must be why the playerbase is bleeding out.
>>
People genuinely don't understand the raw comfiness of Toontown. Corporate Clash has a sprint function, but just try spending like 10 minutes not using it. Running really slowly from place to place, the music almost but not quite syncs up with your foosteps, jumping like a maniac. It's so fucking good. You're 10 years old with no attention span and you can't figure out what the point of the game is, you keep going into shops and they're all identical, you're getting frustrated because you keep missing with Drop's 60% accuracy. You run out of jellybeans and need to spend an hour playing minigames. It's magical.
>>
>>734083160
>Missing with Drop's 60% accuracy
I remember when the Prestige boosted the Accuracy up to 70%. That shit was magical since I chose TU and Drop as my first gags, and I farmed the levels through fishing beforehand to get the training point.

Who needs Throw when my Drop does the job BETTER?
>>
>>734082874
yeah oh man i remember that bullshit, took me long time
alright i might join on in a bit, just gotta user a burner email, these idiots are gonna get hacked i feel it kek
>>
Do not forget that TTR sits on a treasure trove of official Disney archives about the game's original development and cancelled updates, yet won't share anything because of egotrips.

Fuck TTR. I'm still salty that they won the private server war by being a "teenager team" with a 40+yrs old basically using leaked code serverside.
>>
>>734082874
I went in expecting something a bit closer to classic toontown but I do think that CC has been fun enough so far
>>
>>734082874
I don't think the game necessarily needs all the shit like Squirt having splash damage and whatever, but it does make it a lot more interesting in a nice, constrained way. The core of Toontown is playable enough, managing your gags to hit damage breakpoints with maximum accuracy and figuring out the correct priority between AoE and single-target, but it's nice to have just a little bit extra to think about.

not this time
>>

I'm also a healslut so don't feel too bad, but I also picked it on the pretense that I'd be able to heal myself too I button mashed through the tutorial so I could play fun minigames
>>
>>734087950
KEK I originally never picked it BECAUSE of that reason
I was a dumbass kid that thought i could solo this game and didnt understand an mmo is to work together
I started buttonmashing too the tutorial is long as fuck
>>
>>734087950
I'm pretty sure healing someone else also heals you for a fraction
>>
>>734088667
It does in Corporate Clash, with the Prestige giving a bigger self-heal percentage on top of the accuracy boost lasting an extra round
>>
>>734088667
It does but if you're low on heath from grinding alone then you either have to hoof it back to town or run around like a gremlin trying to find somebody in a fight so I can jump in and heal suck some healing out of them by proxy
>>
I've noticed the game seems notiable faster?
sprint might have something to do with that
