>>734218782I'm an FE2 fanboy and I'm enjoying it even if it's made me realize why so many hate Echoes' maps. After playing FE1 and finding out how shitty the DS remake really is I'm surprised the game is so similar to Echoes to play. Some of the shittier characters got buffed in Echoes but even those characters still feel like they're in the same role but more functional.Mae is kind of shitty too in this game so far but aura was clutch for making Grieth a lot easier to kill.

I hate infinite spam in any game, including Gaiden, the good thing is that FE usually doesn't have those.
Worst map so far is this one. Deen's map also gave me some trouble, probably more, but the fort is the only map that's really annoyed me. Grieth is one of the more important bosses so his map being hard is less of a pain to me I guess.

Playing these right after Tear Ring Saga and FE3 really makes you appreciate how the NES didn't have enough text space for Kaga to drop a dumptruck of cheesy exposition on you every chapter.

All the DS remakes had to do was to not be fucking ugly and they would have sold a shitton. They're some of the best pickup and play games in the franchise, and they feel very similar to the beloved GBA Emblems. FEfags in these threads understimate how much presentation matters to people.
