So if you really hate the gameplay of the first few games, still give RE4 a try since it controls completely differently and you might end up loving it.

The only RE remake that is actually worth playing and objectively better than the original is the RE1 Remake on gamecube that I think has been ported to PC. For all the other ones the original is objectively better. RE3 remake is literally half the game the original one was, same with the RE2 remake.

It’s not really scary. There’s a few parts that are a bit unnerving, but more than anything the game is just fun. I haven’t played the remaster but apparently it’s even better so there’s that
