This is pretty fun, why's it get compared to Minecraft when they are absolutely nothing alike past the 1st hour?
Most of that was added pre release, it was very sandboxy at the start.

Some people prefer Minecraft’s extremely abstracted design methodology wherein (atleast in the notch days) almost every single concept in the game was perfectly cohesive and decoupled - and some people prefer Terraria where you hunt down tranny gems in the boss fight arena or some shit and get flaming dildo of epic bacon +999 nigger damage
