>>734274581There's only one skill that ejects pilots, it's melee and it doesn't chain. Meanwhile pilot damage 1 works with any weapon and will always deal 7 damage to the pilot if you use a piercing weapon, even if only one bullet connects, and it chains well. So somebody getting 3 attacks in a row to kill a pilot in one turn isn't even rare. Of course, there's a risk of destroying a wanzer outright, I don't know yet which skills work better in practice.

This game was designed and balanced by a pack of chimps.But anyway, a good reason to diversify your weapons is that each pilot has an innate bonus to their preferred weapon type (this is usually the one they start the game with). Also, once Eject Punch becomes available, Pilot DMG skills basically become obsolete since Eject Punch is simply that broken. Ideally, you will want 2 melee units with 6x Eject Punch and and 2 machine gun units with 6x ROFUP1 (or Zoom1, which can be functionally identical as long as your odds to hit are low enough that the the skill doesn't boost them over 100%. Once you unlock better accuracy upgrades then ROFUP1 becomes objectively better). Make your 2 melee niggas eject pilots and then make your 2 machine gun niggas pick off the pilots when they're ejected. It's that simple. If you get good RNG then you can steal 2 wanzers in one turn.
