so, what would it take for vanillaware to finally port their shit to PC.>b-but you can already play them on PC heh trough emulationnot the point
Why would they even bother?First and foremost the PC game market is oversatured with the games Vanillaware makes; there are thousands upon thousands of 2D action platformers, action platformers with RPG mechanics, beat'em ups, beat'em ups with RPG mechanics and turn based RPGs. They're just too late at this point. Second: If you go to Steam Valve gets a 30% cut from your sales out of the game, which is pretty bad for a small developer like Vanillaware and if you go to the EGS or GOG you gae won't be noticed at allThird: piracy. Unlike a PC port, the emulated versions of their games didn't cost them money to develop. They would pretty much serving their games to pirates in a silver plate, literally paying for their games to be stolen. And that's ignoring how the PC ecosystem got so bad Sony is retiring from it.

>>734275291Imagine being this retarded on purpose
>>734274150I don't care about pc much but it's crazy how they never ported muramasa, odin sphere or dragon's crown to the switch when those had Vita versions. I wonder how the fuck Atlus convinced them to put UO on the switch.
>>734275691>>734275951>No actual counterarguments See? To add to this: Sony's ports sell like shit because they release them 2-4 years after the game's original console release. Dragon's Crown is, what, 13 years old? If games with extremely mass appeal like Sony AAA games sell like shit just after two years, what hope have a bunch of niche 10-13 years old games? PC gaming itself will become extremely niche due to hardware becoming inaccessible to most people. So as a developer who never ported to the platform you have even less of an incentive to do it now. There is also something people never talk about: Vanillaware is a company that simply enjoys making the games they want to make; they just want to keep their doors open but don't have any greed beyond that. As long as they can release their games on the current Sony and Nintendo consoles they don't need anything else and don't want anything else.
Vanillaware's anti-PC behavior is completely irrational and cannot be cured
