>>734319301Windows AI is dogshit, and also I don't want AI infecting everything that I do. I like it to be contained to just what I want to use it for. Microslop wants to jam it into every hole they can find, whether it is needed (or wanted) or not.
>>734307173>I just installed Grimblo due to news of Bloobly being BumboHave no idea what you're talking about little bro.
>>734319421>Nvidia is still completely fucked on itwdym? I have a 4070 and Bazzite works just fine with it. What problem did you have?
come one, bro >>734307173its true that microslop is currently passing by no its best moment, but commiting suicide by making windows subs, nahhh... but very likely the anouns of windows 12 will be "windows 12 the first OS with AGI integrated copilot++"but not subs
>>734319421Nvidia isn't completely fucked on it. I have a trash laptop with an Nvidia card, and it works just fine.

>>734311265Because there simply are multiple valid answers. There being an ecosystem where different people prefer different things should not be a problem unless you're a literal cuckold and need big daddy corporation to tell you which to use.

I don't recommend Bazzite because it won't teach you dick and whenever you have a problem, "you're on your own". Bazzite works for the type of user with little needs. With a standard hardware configuration. A "basic" user. Not a "new" user. These are two different things. When troubleshooting shit, you can look for answers fairly easily on the internet, but plenty of them will involve fixes that work on Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, Debian, and to an extent their derivatives. Not Bazzite, not ublue. You can fiddle with the system a little (you can do something called layering, and you can still read/write certain folders that need root privileges) but it just gets constantly in the way without much of a benefit. Updates require a reboot still. But now you have to rely on what the devs think is best for a chunk of your system. How it should better work. Maybe you have a problem related to your kernel and several versions past, you'll need to roll back many OS versions instead of dealing with that individual problem.I think it comes from a community of people who somehow got this idea that linux "just works" because they just happen to get it all working for themselves with their own little needs in their little bubble. What's more, they provide these "ujust" tweaks that in my opinion shouldn't even be there as some are actually broken. You don't want to give new users scripts that will give them issues. This bazzite shit to me is only step above nobara and that's saying something. The only things I find commendable are the fact they took the time to integrate steam, which is a tremendous pain in the ass to layer, instead of forcing users to use the shitty flatpak, and the fact they don't really add that much garbage, it's fairly clean.
>>734320972I'm not reading all that. Nobody wants to "learn" troonix. Normal users just want their computer to work
>>734321176You don't want dishonesty, do you?
>>734320972Bazzite is Linux's version of (pre-11) Windows, essentially. I think that's the point. You install it and forget about it. It updates itself. Keeps itself secure and relevant, changes parts in the background automatically etc.Not saying I agree with it, but as you described, it is still perfect for the user who spends most of his time in the browser or plays shit like OSRS and FFXIV.However you are fully at the mercy of the maintainers, i.e. if you like Lutris, well fuck you, it'll disappear eventually and be replaced.A "normal user" will never encounter the issues with flatpaks, because Bazaar automatically assigns the required permissions. And for a "normal user" everything is on there anyway.Bazzite being immutable is IMO a boon to those "normal users".I do think Bazzite "just works" with the most common configurations, i.e the configurations of those seeking to install Bazzite to begin with.
Why would anyone install any Linux distro besides Mint?
