Conquest is a very good game (aside from the writing). Birthright and the 3rd route are better than Awakening, but not great.No, you're not supposed to use spreadsheets on your first playthrough. Play through hard mode with no advance planning and figure out the mechanics as you go. Then if you decide to play lunatic mode later you can try to play more efficiently.You can pick a secondary class for your MC (including swordmaster or falcon knight) and easily switch to that class, regardless of the route you choose. There are a couple other characters who can access these classes in conquest.

I will give you a hint that is never mentioned anywhere in the game. You get fractions of support points for every action that spawns hearts over the units. You cap at 3 support points, then 2 with another unit, then 1 for each map. So lets say you want Corrin to support Camilla, Leo, and Elise.To get 3 support points with camilla, you need 6 rounds of combat with them paired up because that is worth 3/6s of a support point (3/18 if you want the full 3 support points). If you trigger the shield gauge or use dual strikes instead (camilla or corrin need to participate in combat as the back up unit) then you get 1/6th of a point, so 4/6ths. This makes dual strikes the best method of grinding out supports. Okay so you have 3 support points between corrin and camilla now, so they dont need to interact for the rest of the map.For elise, you only need 1 support point, so use the heal command 3 times (2/6 support points for every time you staff or sing another unit) and then have her avoid corrin for the rest of the chapter. Since you are only using the 1 support point slot on Corrin, you should try to attain the 3 support point slot for elise with her future husband for the rest of the chapter.Same with leo, since you want the maximum support points on Camilla, you should only get 2 support points with Leo so 4 paired up combats or 3 dual strikes. The character that generated the highest whole number of support points gets the lucky 3 points, so be mindful.It's better to support grind early on and then finish off pairings in what are called "paralogue chains" so use the child unit paralogues to spawn more child units.

The game's weapon system is retarded though, with two sets of each type and all the dumb debuff shit. You should also know that the numbers on the screen are almost never accurate for manual calculations because there's all kinds of obfuscated shit added to the calculations like weapon rank bonuses. Birthright is also incredibly easy if you start with it. Ryoma can almost literally solo the game with his special snowflake prf weapon once you get him, so you don't really need planning for it. Conquest is a little more involved, but if you're not playing Lunatic, you can rely heavily on Camilla and Xander without much thought.

>>734326195Correct on the first part. Corrin's promoted PRF class has staves in BR and tomes in CQ, but in all likelihood, if you're making a magic build, you're using a different class. Magic itself is super strong in Fates. There's a tome (scroll) that even boosts some of your substats. Another thing to mention: the first 5 chapters are a prologue of sorts after which you pick the route you want. I can't remember if you can do this the first time, but once you clear chapter 5, you can choose a 'branch of fate' to start a game at chapter 6 using the last Corrin that cleared chapter 5, and you can change the appearance/boon/bane/class/etc.

If you want a super child, train both the parents and grab them around the start of the hoshido arc. Its generally a better resource investment to use the campaign exp on the parents and let the children autolevel.

There should be a Fates randomizer that either keeps things original or giving you the alternate equivalent. For instance, the randomizer would have a chance to have Hinoka join instead of Camilla, or to put a Brass Katana in the armory instead of a Bronze sword.
