There's a part of an elite that turns all your cards ethereal till its dead, another makes it so you can only play 1 of a group of cards in your hand and ran into one that said any held cards change to another but I beat it before that happened.

So I only had 30 minutes to play before my kid got home, but so far, it seems maybe balanced a bit easier than I expected and hoped? I'm flying through late act 2 already and nothing so far has been especially threatening. I feel like the new cards/artifacts/potions I've pulled so far have given me much better tools to take on enemies that are only slightly harder. Maybe they're balancing for new players and expect longtime StS1 players to start ascension climbing right away. Or maybe I just had good luck on my first run and they're still dialing in balance. The new mechanics have been fun and creative so far, so I have been enjoying it.
