This game must give fat people heart attacks. I just got into a scrap with a recon that lasted about 3 seconds, but made my heart pound like I was sprinting. I had blue shields. He broke my shields and took my hp down to like 3 ticks, but we traded fire, so I did decent damage to him. Ran around a terminal dividing us with my knife out and won the fight purely on positioning. Dude rage quit into the menu and hit leave run faster than anything I've ever seen in my life.

The artstyle is one of the game's biggest failingsNot necessarily because it's bad. Granted, I'm not a fan myself. I think it's very ugly. Part of the reason they like the game is the guns, like genuinely. They are just into guns. You don't know how many people I've come across that are just like that. They like that "realistic" tacticool artstyle with guns they know and recognize. Marathon's art style is such a miss because it completely alienates a huge portion of the already existing extraction shooter playerbase. These dudes enjoy finding an AK or an M4, or a 1911 or whatever. They don't give a fuck about Marathon's sci-fi LEGO guns. Like genuinely, I'm sure every single gun nut will find Marathon's gun revolting. The art style just doesn't fit the genre. It seems like such a mistake, like they should've read the room and realized that the art style just isn't a good fit for the genre.
