You know there's this thing called abstraction, right? Just because you don't see something happening doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's called "imagination", something modern gamers do not have.
>>
>>734856526
the based store called, they ran out of you.
>>
>>734856818
And your imagination fails to account for the fact that they could leave and go sleep in their homes when you're not there? In a setting with mark/recall/teleportation?

Kwama based products are stimulants. Nobody in Morrowind can sleep except the player.

being 8 and knowing my brothers friend was bringing his morrowiwnd disc over to play was amazing. that brother didnt game or care for them, so it was somewhat brief. but I had a an even older brother, the classic type that was bigger and didnt 'care'. so hes around 15 when im 8. and he played games and saw how much I liked morrowind and let me play with him. I genuinely miss those days.

The point is Telvanni territory is on the fringe frontier of the Empire and the Almsivi's influence, so all of the temple people and Imperial guilds are put in awkward cuck boxes in whatever spare rooms the local garrison had at the edge of town or are sitting in a basement of a tower somewhere, while in Hlaalu territory they're all right on main street. It's worldbuilding just done in a really funny way.

Neither is the Camonna Tong, who are operating in all of Morrowind as I understand.
>>
>>734876362
The game is written with the understanding that you are an outlander, and that native Morrowinders can instantly recognize outlanders. Outlander doesn't mean "Not from Vardenfell", it means "Not from Morrowind." Even dunmer from outside the province get viewed as outlanders and treated accordingly, like African Americans in Africa.

For joining the Camonna Tong to make since, you'd need a mod that basically rewrites the entire game. so that everyone considers you a native.

Because, beyond the fact they're not fans of outlanders like the Player Character, they're an objectively evil designated villain faction that is revealed to be working with Dagoth Ur later in the game, so you can't join them for the same reason you can't join the Middle Dawn or the Dragons

I played morrowind for 5 hours and all the quests were dogshit fetch quests. Oblivion and Skyrim has waaaaaay better quest design. You can play Oblivion for 20 hours and not get a single fetch quest.
>>
>>734926364
Oblivion is a game for literal children where you mindlessly follow the quest market and can't ever sequence break. A fetch quest in Morrowind is inherently more interesting because there's often more than one solution like the Dwemer airship plans.
>>
>>734926364
Oblivion yes, Skyrim - absolutely not. And aren't all quests fetch quests at the end of the day? Fetch this item or this guy's death/body are 99% or RPG quests in any game.

Oblivion quests are top notch and break the mold, that's about it. And as always mods fix everything. The wealth of EXTREMELY high quality quest mods for Morrowind makes it by far the best.
>>
>>734895045
The texture for the model is AI generated, isn't it?
>>
>>734927139
And Morrowind is made for vegetables hooked up on life-support, fetch quests are dogshit and Morrowind is full of them. Having “multiple solutions” to a fetch quest is the lamest cope, just because you have 2 places to gather mushrooms from does not make the quest any less braindead and tedious. Morrowind is full of dogshit game design and that’s just facts.
>>
>>734928568
Okay and Oblivion has one place you can ever gather those mushrooms where the mushrooms don't spawn until you reach that stage in the quest and your reward for gathering those mushrooms is a level scaled item that will be useless in a couple levels. This. Game mechanics are canonical. They have beds to sleep in for 1 hour when they need to level up (they might have to teleport to balmora), or more if they need magicka. But the smart wizards probably cast absorb and leech off a summoned ghost.
>>
>>734928568
Fetch quests are good, especially when you fetch real items that can be found in different places in the world. Oblivion has a handful of Epic set-piece quests which are impressive the first time but become rather tiresome to replay. It also has lots of fetch quests but they are more often for gay mcguffin items that only exist for the quest and harm muhhhhh immersion (unironically).
>>
Fetch quests are good when fetching them itself is interesting. Like how TR does it.

Yeah they literally say this in the game, everyone has insomnia because of Dagoth Ur. And even then, take this with a grain of salt it's King Edward era lore, Dark Elves are nocturnal and their traditional sleep schedule reflects that (I'm pretty sure they sleep for 1-2 hours after midnight, and then around noon they sleep for 5-6 hours kind of like irl desert cultures).

Speaking of King Edward, I'm not sure if I agree with TR's take on Moraelyn. UESP says Wayrest was only established around 1E800. According to King Edward Moraelyn was too young to take part in the war against the Nords in Morrowind (around 1E410-420), but then he's said to go on to expel the Nords from High Rock which happened around the same time period. I know ultimately it's trying to shove a square peg into a circular hole, Daggerfall-era lore wasn't made with Morrowind in mind, but still.
Regardless, the 3 Deaths of House Mora is a really cool read even if it's not 'accurate'.

Did you know that ESO removed this line from Sermon 11 of the 36 lessons:
>They will leave you like rebellious daughters. They will lose their virtue.
The complete passage is:
>Do not abuse your powers or they will lead you astray. They will leave you like rebellious daughters. They will lose their virtue. They will become lost and resentful and finally become pregnant with the seed of folly. Soon you will be the grandparent of a broken state.
What a weird thing to censor considering all the other stuff in the lessons, like you really need to comb through them to even arrive at this passage and say "Hmm referring to irresponsible statecraft via an analogue of daughters losing their virginity is too much".

>>
>>734979975
Yes, I am aware that these non-stop bumps that keep this zombie thread alive is a work of one man, maybe two at most.
But what I don't understand is why do this in the first place. You can make a new thread on /v/ in seconds, which would bring actual life into the thread, and once interest dies down the thread gets archived, then you repeat the process.
Believe it or not, I actually like this game, but I don't like going to /v/ and seeing a thread for a game I'd like to discuss that is lifeless but kept on life support for seemingly no reason.
>>
>>734980487
Has he started shilling TR yet?
It is free advertising.
>>
>>734980487
Eh, not much of a difference between burning through multiple shitty little morrowind threads a day and constantly necrobumping one big one in-between occasional bursts of activity, the latter option takes the least effort i would argue. The sensible thing to do would be wait until PT/TR gets a major release so there's a substantial amount of things to discuss, or only make threads once or twice a week so that people are less fucking tired of them, but i guess some people really do need their Morrowind thread fix

At the end of the day, the root of the problem is the fact that the /vg/ TES general is thoroughly occupied by Skyrim porn mod gooners (though I'm pretty sure there's no rule dictating that there can't exist a Morrowind-specific general on that board)

My Morrowind is the ultimate Morrowind. People claim you can't make Morrowind into a modern ARPG with super fast paced combat. You can if you mod in....
Pvp - Parry + active dodging + basic combo attacks and MUCH faster combat by default, but speed can be changed.
Nimble Armor - Passive dodging (reworked Unarmored skill and new evasion stat)
Shields Up - Active blocking
Kick master (adds kick with knock back)
N'wah Shooter - archery overhaul with option multi-shot skill unlock and modular gravity option to make arrows fly farther or shorter
Realistic Archery - makes arrows veer off course depending on your and your opponents marksman level
>All above with modular combat variables to set to your preference
QuickKeys Hotbar Extended (combined mods so you can finally have multiple hot bars with modular keys)
No combat menu in combat (must use hotkeys in combat, no inventory)
Restrictive saving for no combat saves
Poisons added/overhauled
More Dangerous Morrowind Denizens - mod for added combat difficulty/complexity
Beware the Sixth House - finishes the final quest battle by making enemies harder and making their magical support for Dagoth Ur work properly. When you kill the boys supporting Dagoth Ur his power is supposed to decrease.

Also "guarded dungeon entrances" to make it like Oblivion/Skyrim and have level/dungeon appropriate mobs outside dungeons.

Congratulations you just made MorroSouls - Prepare to Die addition. Much more fun than vanilla because the difficulty is good. I will never get why the majority of the Morrowind players say they like "breaking the game" and becoming OP. Why would you want to make the final boss into a pushover? If you want to make the game trivial there are always console commands and Cheat Engine for that...

>I'm doing an AI voice mod for Morrowtind
Why tho?
>>

if you can believe it swit, sweden and midsummer are both real

As funny as it'd be, that would be out of the scope for the mod. I'm specifically wanting to focus on giving specific NPCs unique voice actors, not widespread changes. If you do know any Argonian NPCs in TR or base game that would fit a Jarjar voice though, I wouldn't be against giving it to him.

I just think it's fun to cast the voices, and there is something nice but the audible variety. I don't blame anyone who thinks it's slop though. Also I wanted to give K'vatra a good voice since Sloads are unvoiced currently in Tamriel Data (along with female Imga and various races).

That dude literally had a 4 (four) hour video about the beggar in Ivarstead. I see no loss. Mittensquad, now that was a loss.

>its real
How did he even die. What.
>>
>>735006446
The problem is that it's too real. It's instantly recognisable and immediately draws you out of the medium.

Sounds like some outsider art.

I fucking hate midsommar fags so much, it's such a generic predictable movie but people treat it like it's some amazing new thing. How did that movie get so much attention?
>>
>>735009036
Elden Ring and some other popular games referenced it heavily.

It's a cultural festival, not a fucking movie experience! Shame that people who know nothing of Scandinavia can only equate it with a subpar movie.

Hey, pretty fun culture you've got there, nord bro!
I'll be borrowing it, if you don't mind. I need to earn some nerd points with other online hipsters. It'll fit perfectly for my poser underground media literacy wank, Thanks!

There are beds everywhere in Morrowind.
As for the guards, they are fucked and need to sleep on the floor.

What can I say? I just like the classic look.
