Thanks to those who joined us for Toontown since I know a few people from /v/ joined us. It was fun but got pretty repetitive.

Time to Wakfu! still downloading it.

it's F2P on multi-account servers up to level 60

Always do dungeons in a group, they quickly become impossible to solo, and always do them in at least Stasis 3 so you can actually have the chance of getting useful drops.
Make use of the adjustable level system, you'll get more exp for running dungeons at their intended level and it keeps it from becoming a chore where you one shot everything, also good for playing with people who are behind you in progression without ruining the game for them.
Skip the "Nations" main quest, it's long, boring and unrewarding.
Do the "Life of a hunter" quests from Otomai's Disciple in Astrub at least until you get the epic boots.
All of the main quests related to the non-nation islands are worth doing, maybe not the Wild Estate one though.
Many areas have mercenary boards which are worth doing, and often lead into the dungeons in the area.
If you reach lvl 110 you can try to do all the dungeons in that bracket at Stasis 5 to get tokens which would let you buy a Gelano in Bilbiza, it's a relic ring you probably aren't going to replace within 2 weeks.
>>
>>734981120
It is to a certain level that we won't get in 2 weeks anyways
>>
>>734981409
>>734981840
that's one day of gameplay at best, not enough for 2 weeks
>>
>>734981784
>Always do dungeons in a group, they quickly become impossible to solo, and always do them in at least Stasis 3 so you can actually have the chance of getting useful drops.

Is this why there's tons of multiaccounting apparently?
>>
>>734982001
Yeah, the game is made for 6 players and it quickly becomes apparent that if you're trying to complete dungeons with less than that then you're going to fail a lot, experienced players can get away with 3-4 up until the endgame though.

don't go to the rubilax server. go on the mono-account one, ogrest.

do the questline in astrub up until it asks you to go to the nations they recently changed it like very recently to where you get your mount without having to do the bullshit minigame by just doing the quests you will have to do life of a hunter i and II but once you do it one time you can get a mount on every character after that

>>
>>734992792
I've noticed that now, you level very quick so 30 isn't a lot of time to make a decision.
>>
>>734992970
Yeah the "trial period" really doesn't matter because you barely get a chance to properly experience each class. I don't think the devs give a shit because the average Wakfu/Dofus player just plays a dozen characters and multiboxes with themselves.

>thick iop ass in your face in the opening cutscene

>>
Anyone for the lvl 20 dungeons?
>>
>>734979703
I haven't seen this game in forever, do they still have the player government stuff and is it all run by Brazilians still? And did they ever fix how they promised the battles would be more tactical than Dofus with positioning mattering only to make the battle area smaller and less strategic?
>>
>>735000942
Player government stuff is still a thing but it doesn't really matter. And it's actually run by mexicans, I think.
Positioning does matter for some dungeons. But it's not that strategic since its like you're just playing some kind of the floor is lava or minesweeper game.
>>
>>735000880
goball dungeon ?
>>
>>735001174
Yeah
>>
>>735000942
For example.
There's a dungeon where to damage the boss you need to stay at a distance of exactly X (randomly assigned) squares from him.
On another dungeon you fight the boss above a giant clock, and to damage it you need to be at the right place at the right time.
On another dungeon you need to start your turn standing on a glyph, then end your turn in contact with the boss to remove its invulnerability for the current turn.
And so on.
>>
>>735001158
Thanks anon. I wonder how that shift happened, but it definitely was BRs at first. Too bad about the tactics stuff, but I'd accepted that the pre-release hype wouldn't come true.
>>735001337
That's at least kinda interesting versus how I remember it being at launch. They had originally said that elevation and positioning would matter (basically like final fantasy tactics) but never delivered.
>>
>>735001432
Elevation doesn't matter.
The closest thing you have is line of sight, but even that isn't that important or a worry due to how many tools you have.
On higher levels everyone has crazy ass mobility.
A melee character can chase you from one side of the map to the other, stabilize you so you can't teleport away to flee, stabilize themselves so you don't push them away, then lock your ass in place.
Ranged character? All have tools to not care about line of sight.
>>
>>734979703
That design on the redhead is one of the most gooner things I've seen outside of japan, ever. How did they get away with it?
>>
>>735001432
Fucking hell, there are even characters that can quite literally kidnap enemies for positioning.
Some niche Xelor builds will play with people like a ragdoll as long as they are so slightly near their hour cells.
Panda? Simply and without exaggeration can do fuck all. All positioning mechanics might as well not exist if you have one in the party since it will do everything, alone.
Masqueraider? Has very funny tools. Among other things, they can switch places with targets to position them in the middle of a bunch of dudes (that were buffed by the Masqueraider) ready for rape. Can also cavalcade you and make you follow along like a duckling.
Sacrier? Very interesting how a very powerful damage character can also functionally play like spiderman.

Any word on the new season, by the way? Heard they'd planning to finishing the whole thing off with a webcomic. Doesn't the trailer for the sequel MMO basically spoiler that Yugo is going to blow up the world while fighting Lokus?
>>
Since there's nowhere better to ask this, I vaguely remember in Dofus there's some kind of quest yo can do to become a god. How the fuck does that work? I assume you're sub-Pantheon of 12 tier and basically a Goku version of your original species?

The whole ecology thing is unexpected where you gotta plant seeds and stuff in order to create more spawns and you gotta harvest enemies.
>>
>>735012908
The original concept of the game was being a player driven sandbox where all the resources, monsters, in-game money etc were influenced by players, you could wipe out all the enemies, wipe out all the resources, compete for mining spots since that was the only way to get kamas, get into politics and place laws to stop people fucking up your nations via making them outlaws who could be attacked by other players.
All that stuff is secondary now though and the game is mostly about running dungeons.

Yeah Ultima Online originally tried that too and ended up getting rid of it. There's a youtube video on it its pretty interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFNxJVTJleE

Basically they didn't expect players to be so combat and levelling focused and they just tore through everything at a rate where enemies and plants and stuff couldn't respawn.
For an ecology system to work it has to be a lower population game like Wakfu.
>>
>>735016078
Even then, it only works for a short time before the novelty wears off and it becomes nothing more than an annoyance for players trying to get through the game, which is why it's now pretty much irrelevant in Wakfu.

Max Crit%, Rear mastery if your class can access rear easily, crit mastery is generally good especially in the later game or if your class has natural crit rate built in, block% is nice if you're a melee class.

Nothing too interesting. There are three servers:
>Pandora - French Language Server
>Rubilax - General Server
>Ogrilon or something - Server that prevents botting and multiboxing by asking for your phone number

On Pandora and Rubilax you can have up to five characters, the other one only allows one character. Its meant to incentivise playing with others.
>>

What class has the deer ears?
>>
>>735017287
Huppermage, they're not deer ears though it's just a goofy headband.
>>
>>735017013
Because its a turn based game, its very easy to multibox. You take your turn, once its done, you switch to the next box, take their turn, switch to the next box etc. You dont need to be maintaining all the boxes at once. And Wakfu is very team focused where you need a team pretty much to do dungeons, and a good team comp at that. So lots of people have ended up multiboxing and its basically turned into a solo game.

They created a server to incentivise actually teaming with others and no multiboxing, which requires a phone number so you can't create multiple accounts to multibox.
>>
>>735017019
Everyone in the guild can invite now. You can also post your name in the thread for an invite.
>>
There's free packs in the shop for the anniversary, not sure if new accounts can grab them but take a look.
>>
What are you supposed to use Huppermage as?
I'm seeing that it has not only a lot of support and utility spells, but also has healing spells. And the class introduction says its Mobility/Support/Control so I guess thats what it should be doing.
But I'm seeing that it alsp has some apparently very good damage tools?

>Lots of classic MMOs had this back in the day. Until WoW came along. WoW really changed the MMO world for the worst.
Why don't MMO's have politics and stuff like that? It makes the world a lot more interesting and it gives tons and tons of player interaction in to the game. When on thinks of MMO's that is the sort of things that one thinks about, or used to think about. "You can live in this world and be anything" used to be an idea that made people drawn to these games. But then it just ended being being this thing where you just repeat one thing over and over again to get an item that gives more numbers so you can keep repeating the thing a few seconds faster.

Mainly DPT, but can be played as a healer/support too.

People expect MMO populations to be much higher and more dense than before. Political stuff is less engaging the more players there are. When there's 100 people on one server, not only does your vote matter but you could reasonably be elected. When there's 100k people on the server, 90% of them don't even engage with the mechanic to begin with but you get a subreddit to vote for one guy and it becomes a waste of time.
Eve online still maintains some of this political aspect but it's mainly between a few massive factions, while individual players have almost no impact.

Regular block or barrier reduces the flat damage of attacks on you for a few hits each fight before it stops while Block% gives you a chance to block a certain amount of damage whenever hit, both of which are only really handy for tanks. Though don't worry too much about stat allocation since you're able to easily change your stats around whenever you wish so you can mess around and adjust them however you please.

According to random websites a wow server can support between 3,000-5,000 people. If you split that in half you get 1500-2000 people on each factions, that is not too big. Seems like a reasonable size where you could have various functional social systems of politics, ranks of generals and so on. But why don't the players want to engage with stuff like this?

brainrot, gacha games, tiktok, twitch, social media, discord
people just don't want to do anything inside of games anymore when they can get more dopamine from some other shit more quickly and easily

My fave little player driven MMO system is Dark Ages' religion system where priest classes can actually hold sermons in churches and if you attend those sermons you get buffs. It really gives an extra use to the priest class.

And then you can also choose to dedicate your worship to specific gods and then if you attend the sermons of those gods you get more buffs and if you do specific stuff that god likes you rank up and you get your own prayer spells to buff yourself.

So the reason so many BRs play the game is because they can sell Kamas for real life currency?

Because the roleplaying aspect has been wiped out for mainstream appeal and streamlining. Now most MMOs follow the WoW formula over the Ultima Online formula. Or the Korean MMO formula. Over time its taught people that MMOs are solely for multiplayer combat specifically dungeon running rather than a social game with combat in it.

Pretty much. A lot of central americans and south americans grind on MMOs to sell accounts/craftables for IRL money. Its pretty big on WoW too on low popular servers.

Is that why this server is full of BRs? Do the BRs not wanna give their phone number?
