Like >>734999698 said, the issue is that the games are made by indie teams that have nowhere near the staff or reasonable devtime to remake something close. Tainted Grail was pretty great up to the 2nd act, but even by then cracks were already starting to show, and Act 3 it just falls apart clearly due to lack of resources and more time in the oven. Skyrim on the other hand was a perfect storm of both a large AAA studio and actual effort from the devs. Keep in mind players kept discovering shit in Skyrim years after it's release simply because it was just that dense of a game in it's own Bethesda way.Skyrim is as wide as an ocean yet still manages to be deep as a lake. It has just enough detail to really feel like a proper sandbox world with enough depth to make it replayable even without any mods. Not to mention, the game's artstyle is just generic enough to where it's the perfect slate for modders to add whatever they want to it, while the entire Elder Scrolls lore is so massive that it only adds to the amount of ideas that modders could implement. Skyrim was lightning in a bottle, which is why I have little faith in TES6 to even live up to it, or for indie devs to properly recreate it.

The worst thing is, AKotSK brought back Knight KINO, chivalry, glory, honour, etc and TES VI will be stuck in the #BLM era because it's already so outdated, be set in Hammerfell instead of High Rock, and be basically the AC: Shadows of TES.
I started playing on master difficulty and finally found a good Survival mode mod (Playable Survival AE i think its called) and it has breathed new life into the game.
You haven't truly played Skyrim if you haven't used Requiem.
