Why are the fans of these games such obnoxious tryhards?
>>
>kindly ask for an easy mode
>fromsoft fans blow a fuse
>>
>>735000245
Marathon filters these nerds btw. It tells them to actually git gud.

I checked out an elden ring facebook group and it felt like a massive shitstorm happened because by the time I joined the woman admin kept posting her irl blog about stupid unimportant shit with comments encouraging her.
Meanwhile all the posts need to be reviewed.
>>
>>735000245
what I find strange is how you can be talking about litteral any game and they will play six degrees to kevin bacon, in a vain attempt to talk about souls slop. other than that the games themselves are pure shit with the worst control scheme ever created.

Demon's Souls came out during the dark period in the Modern Warfare, brown-and-bloom era where games hadn't quite turned to the artsy fartsy Bioshock Infinite stuff yet, but were still less focused on actual gameplay than the past. Demon's Souls felt like an oldschool game and it was challenging. It was '09 so the AVGN and retro gaming was becoming big too.
All of those things came together to create a type of person who loved Demon's Souls because fuck you I'm a real gamer. Then they just never went away and with the continued success and releases, more of them appeared and began forming an echo-chamber of "real gamers".

why can't detractors just git gud?
>>
>>735000271
It's called use a trainer and be quiet. You're supposed to learn as a child how to comfort yourself. Asking devs for difficulty reductions instead of acquiring them yourself is spoiled behavior. And fuck from soft, they should have gone under in the kings field era.

If you use an analogy to try and refute the point you're a redditor

I love souls games because they made me realize I'm actually a woman in the body of a man. like most souls players I am trans.
>>
>>735000550
I don't think you read my post at all. If you need a difficulty reduction, go acquire one. I used every cheesy strat in the book to beat elden ring instead of playing like you're supposed to. Rot magic, dragon magic and mimic tear every single fucking boss fight. I can't even beat the game anymore because all the shit I used to get through the game has been nerfed into the ground. But I'm not gonna sit here and complain that there isn't an easy mode
>>
>>735000550
But there is no hard mode. If that was the rationale, shouldn’t she want there to be an easy mode so she can say
>pfft. I beat it on hard
>>
>>735000245
>Why are the fans of these games such obnoxious tryhards?

They are not even that tryhards, they larp as hardcore gamers but most of them are just retarded casuals with single digit iq points
I swear, platformer niggas are way more hardcore than souls chuds
>>
>>735000245
Because you have to try really hard to make yourself enjoy them.
>>
>>735000526
This is true but also, I dont think anyone had problems with hades putting a godmode button in the game, so is it really that bad to put an easy/story mode?
>>
>>735000918
>story mode
but there's no story. if you removed the difficulty, the game is basically nonexistent.
>>
>>735000245
Duskbloods isn't even out yet.
>>
>>735001695
You know that's a pretty strong argument, I think devs should try to protect the intended experience

Most of them, especially people who cheese souls games, actually suck ass at action games.

Because there are two main groups of people who "like" these games: the ones who simply appreciate and enjoy the potential challenge they offer and embrace it for its own sake, who don't take kindly to people wanting to selfishly cry about the games they enjoy when they could either learn how to play such generally simple systems or pick something else, and the ones that see them as the "HARDEST SERIES EVER" and want to get in on what's supposedly popular purely to say that they beat it, who are the ones that shit on anyone that complains or tries to learn anything about the game until its their turn to screech about it if they lose a single time, at which point they turn into gigantic projectors claiming the only reason anyone would play a "hard" game wants a trophy, when the irony is making such a big stink about being unable to beat the game creates that in and of itself for those who don't care either way.
You conflate both of these groups together and pattern recognition suggests you would belong to the second which is destructive to games as a whole.
>>
>>735004110
>The ones who simply appreciate and enjoy the potential challenge
>soulsshit
holy shit
>and the ones that see them as the "HARDEST SERIES EVER"
Literally same group of people who fell for marketing
>>
>>735004426
Yes. You'll notice that in the post I implied that the games, while more challenging than a lot of the average popular games people play and offer a decent variety of ways to circumvent or increase that challenge, are quite far from the highest level of difficulty out there, which says something about how far the average has fallen and how the way people view challenge has warped but I digress.
>>
>>735004751
>while more challenging than a lot of the average popular games
dark souls wasn't even more challenging than gods of war 2 and 3
>>
>>735004821
trvke
I tthink the original dmc series too was harder
hell, I died more times in max payne than ds
>>
>>735000271
There's nothing wrong with telling easy mode shitters to fuck off. There isn't a single reason to add difficulty options to Souls games, if you want an easier time then just grind.
The retards asking for it don't even have an excuse, like what, you want to just experience the story? Nigga there is no story! Part of the appeal of these games is that they are what they are, everyone will experience the same difficulty and its up to them to adapt in their own ways.
>>
>>735006002
Before dark souls, dying in video games and starting again was normal thing to do. Even in "casual shooters" like cod campaign
Dark Souls marketing team literally sold basic game mechanic as something new and exciting, and did that before youtuber influencers became popular
