What’s the video game demographic these days? 20 years ago the stereotype was that only young boys played games. These days, the audience has definitely aged up, but how popular are games with women?

My fiancée can occasionally beat me at Street Fighter 2, and she really likes FF Crystal Chronicles. They admittedly seem to be the exception and not the rule, though.

The days of kids playing single-player or offline multiplayer are gone, and once these kids grow up they're not gonna "graduate" to other games, they'll continue playing whatever live service slop is popular in the future or stop playing vidya entirely. The medium is on a timer, it's pretty much over in a few decades.

But it's too late for them because the parents there that would've bought games for their kids or teens using their pocket money aren't there anymore. The kids and teens are all playing F2P slop and the parents are buying tablets, phones, or even a PS5/pre0built to play F2P games.
