Now that the dust has settled, what did we think of Final Fantasy 27?

I knew we'd never see anything close to FF27 by the time 2027 arrived, but at least like FF19 or 20, maybe, but not even that.Square really dropped the ball on mainline FF, they started wasting too much money, too many flops or not many big earners, and later focusing on the FF7 demakes. Dropping Luminous engine after so all that investment and turning Agnis Philosophy into Forspoken, FF15 being a massive dissapointment, FF16 being forgettable garbage... Even if by some miracle Square said "let's honor this design from DEHR and actually built FF27 around this poster's idea and look" it was just going to be another modern another Square disapointment like Versus 13/15, and it sucks because it honestly looks like a super cool idea that's worth a shot. Very Goth and 2000s edgy inspired. What a shame.

We made too many pieces of media that showed us advancing too fast in 90s, 2000s and 2010s with giant leaps that lead to these massive cyberpunk worlds. I mean, we are getting there, but it's defintely going to take a little more time to match stuff like Hengsha, or GITS, or Blade Runner. Even with robots and 'ai'. Honestly the further it's post poned the better. Current times suck and anything that replicates those world means life will probaly get worse.
