Marathon is doing fine. It's a much harder, grittier and more serious Arc Raiders and leans closer to the Tarkov side than the Arc side. Naturally this has scared away a bunch of players since launch day, but their retention looks good as do the peak hour swings. I'd argue the game is healthy and found it's footing.Now, is it enough to please Bungie overlords on sales and mtx? Yes. And the community who is playing it is having a good time.

Marathon's runners never actually die, those are just easily replaceable synthetic bodies. But in Arc Raiders, you play as actual humans that die for real.

I'm content with the current player numbers (matchmaking is fast), but this game cost a lot to make.
