so what is the best usb controller these days? these fucking things keep breaking in one way or another, and im fucking sick of it.
>>
gamesir g7 pro
dualsense
xbox 360 controller
>>
>>735016516
i will only accept something has a layout like OP or playtstation style. xbox layout is retarded garbage.
>>
>>735016590
well then get dualsense. no other controller in that format comes close.
>>
>>735016590
gamesar tarantula
>>
>>735016679
are they actually durable and good for longevity? im not smashing my controller or anything, but my logitech ones always end up getting stick drift or random buttons not working.
>>
>>735016356
Logitech F310 is still one of the better if not the best USB based controllers for its price range. Its lasted very long, old xbox360 usb lasted 8 years.

did you try the wireless one?
>>
>>735016906
ive never had a single playstation controller die on me since ps1.
>>
>>735016906
Just get the DS4, the Dualsense is a meme and just introduces more points of failure with the adaptive triggers that aren't actually used anywhere.
I'd say to get something else due to all of the big three being chinkshit with bad sticks, but most chinkshit that's not from the big three copies the Xbox layout.
>>
gamesir tegenaria
>>
>>735017130
yeah my ps1 and ps2 controllers still work great, and i used to throw tantrums. but i heard that modern controllers are often deliberately made to not last long and force you buy more.
>>
>>735017273
how much malware does this ship with vs 8bitdo? Both are made in China saar. Do no redeem.
>>
>>735017275
look at it this way. for every person you hear online complaining theres thousands not complaining and just enjoying their game. its like gpus. for every person thats like "MUH SHIT IS STUTTERY BROKEN ETC" theres a bunch going on at 4k 120fps no issue.
>>
>>735016356

You made this thread because haha some rich jews died in a minisub controlled by pic related that's so fucking funny my guy hahahahahaha!
>>
>>735017275
PS2 controllers were unironically very brittle and easy to break the bumpers off of accidentally. Those controllers had poor design. PS1 however were well made in comparison.
>>
>>735017275
Hall effect sticks last longer than non hall effect. But you add hall effect sticks to dualsense if you want.
>>
>>735017491
no, i've just been using cheap usb controllers for the past 15 years.
>>
>>735017651
but you used that specific controller even though there are better controllers for the same price. 8-bit duos are the goto for cheap PC controllers. But you knew that already.
Still, people dying is pretty fucking funny though am I right?
>>
>>735017505
really? i never got that impression
>>
>>735016590
8bitdo pro 3
>>
>>735017862
You could easily tilt the shoulder buttons if you pressed it forcibly enough at a wrong angle to wear it out. Its just due to the design type since they were designed to have replaceable parts I suppose or some other corpo-jargon unlike ps1 or xbox controllers which are built solid like bricks.
>>
>>735017857
8bit is for women and redditors

I had my f710 since 2012 and only got rid of it last year when I found rats chewed on it while it was in storage

>>
>>735017275
I've used my ps4 controller regularly since 2014, it still works completely fine.
>>
>>735016356
I've been using Dualshock 4 with DS4Windows and Xpadder since 2016, it works great. I like using the touchpad as a mouse and binding macros. reWASD might be worth looking into but I hear they don't like honoring their subscriptions at times.
>>
>>735017857
it was the only one my local best buy actually carried. but now they dont carry it anymore so i have to buy online, and im lost in the online market space.
>>
>>735018189
>>735018248
nobody gives a fuck about your retarded nigger /pol/ shit. nobody gives a fuck about some dead sub either. this thread is about controllers.
>>
>>735018568
OP could have used literally any other image for a cheap gaming controller but specifically chose the Logitech F710 because of current events.
No one used that shitty controller. If you wanted a cheap PC gaming controller years ago everyone bought a corded 360 controller. It was when microsoft stopped selling them that people moved on to other third party but certainly not fucking Logitech.
>>
>>735016906
Yes they are durable
Stick drift is a meme from subhumans that rape their sticks nightly
>>
>>735016590
DS4 or Dualsense, unironically. Every third party fucks something up on the layout for whatever reason.
>but drift
Gamesir Tegenaria Lite if you don't need the touchpad or gyro
Gulikit Elves 2 if you mainly care about d-pad and don't mind a useless gyro

Nothing with premium pricing is worth the list price, just wait™ for Steam Controller or Gamesir's April-June symmetrical releases if you need more.
>>
The short answer is it comes down to what you value. You posted a symmetrical (Playstation style) stick Logitech F310 from the old days, so I'll assume that is the layout you want.
>DualSense
the PS5 controller, is pretty much the best thing of its type currently. It has more advanced haptics, gyro, mic/speaker, and other features if you want to play on both modern PC (via USB and Bluetooth). The only thing that's better all around is
>DualSense Edge
but that is their Xbox Elite S2 analog in that it adds rear paddles and a number of other features, but is also considerably more expensive
>>
>>735018854
i used that image because its the first one that came up when i typed "logitech usb controller" and it matches the type i literally have been using for like 15 years. i didnt check specific model number, but it looks about the same. i've been using it since long before the submarine shit. i have never used an xbox controller because i fucking hate the layout. and if you think "nobody used it" there were threads about it long before the sub incident, but you're probably too young and too brainrotten to have ever seen or noticed it. the only one talking about the sub is you, and i as OP wholeheartedly reject any "discussion" of it. it is irrelevant to my needs.
>>
>>735016356
all controller break in one way or another, you fucking retard, literally everything does
>>
>>735016906
>stick drift or random buttons not working.
wash your fucking hands you filthy fucking animal, and store your controller in a sealed container thst it isn't needlessly exposed to all the niggerdust that's constantly swirling around in your house
>>
>>735016356
https://gamepadla.com/

Look for latency first, then desired functionality like gyro and TMR sticks
>>
>>735017491
the ones those retards used was the wireless version, which ironically has a consistent issue of dropping all inputs for 3-10 seconds every 5 minutes for some reason
>>
>>735016356
The xbox 360 wired controller.
>>
>>735017857

>>
>>735016683
>>735019252
the tarantula seems cool, but it has a lot of stuff i dont need and would never use. that tegenaria lite seems to be efficient and concise, while being significantly cheaper.

everyone is saying to just get a ps4/5 controller and they're saying that its durable, but is the tegenaria just as good? i really dont need the gyro or touchpad shit. i generally hate motion controls and dont play games with them. i dont mind paying a little more if its going to finally last me more than couple of years, but if the cheaper one is just as good, should i go with that?

I bought Deltaco Gaming GAM-169T recently. Feels like a really good 3rd party controller. Works on PC, PS4, and Switch. Has gyro, back buttons, and trigger analog-digital switch. Now I'm waiting if it'll break in two months but the initial impressions are great.
>>
>>735022496
unfortunately im not savvy enough to truly understand all of the technical terms and comparisons.
>>
>>735022757
xbox is retarded, anyone who uses that shit is a nigger
>>
>>735023253
Prioritize latency under the search results, the lower the better, because the worst controller you can have is when you move your thumb stick and it takes half a second for your character to move on screen. Then aim for a TMR or Hall effect stick to avoid stick drift, which means your controller is pretty much bricked. The rest are just nice to haves.
>>
>>735023359
yeah i really hate xbox controllers. also they tend to feel fatter than most others.
>>
>>735023047
Looks like the same OEM as IINE Bastet and Fantech Nova Pro, but interestingly I don't see hall effect advertised anywhere for it. I stopped recommending those because the d-pad's highly prone to accidental diagonals and the sticks and triggers are both inaccurate, but from what I've seen in reviews it's probably no different from 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C and has more features for sometimes the same price or less.

If there's anything fucky with the firmware (IINE's sucked and made the back buttons unreliable), you can likely flash Fantech Nova Pro WGP14v2 v1.2 firmware on it for something sane. Afaik the software won't try to flash it if the board doesn't match.

>>
>>735026196
It's likely, the controllers I see at the used game store for playstation always have designs, X has a hole in the middle, Square is four corners, etc.
>>
>>735025363
8bitdo pro3 is cool its my main pad now.
best thing is that it has trigger lock so the L2 and R2 triggers arent mushy dogshit.
>>
>>735016356
the default Xbox controller has never steered me wrong. I also have the Logitech f310 and it's ok but I don't like the clack of the buttons. Fight sticks are overrated unless you're the type of dude who thinks weekend money matches are a great use of your time.
>>
>>735023359
360 controllers are a bit of a necessity as most don't support snoy but do support xinput on steam. They certainly don't support switch controllers which are just like 360 controllers. (unless they got xinput.)
>>
>>735026056
It's surprisingly good, I got one on a whim and it's now my favorite controller for 2D games. I still prefer keeping a xbox layout controller for 3D games though.

>>
>>735023445
Gamepadla's search sucks and I wish it went by more than the owner's cherrypicked average latency values. Overclocking omitted so wired Sony results look awful, max latency omitted so some controllers with good averages will unknowingly have high variance which is often even worse than consistently high latency, sometimes using numbers from outdated firmware or an input type you'd never use. I also dislike Gulikit TT and Dualsense having dongle results using Gulikit's bluetooth adapter when that result type is used for 2.4ghz on everything else.
>>
>>735027007
then why even ask about quality if you’re gonna autisticly remap everything to sony glyphs anyway

ABXY is the PC standard because of xinput. every non-snoy pad on earth is gonna default to that unless the dev actually cares enough to ship dual prompts. half of them don’t.

if you’re that attached to shapes just buy a dualsense and overclock it. wired at 1000hz it’s fine and the latency horror stories are from people running stock firmware on bluetooth like cavemen.

or keep coping and pretend your muscle memory explodes when it sees a B instead of a circle.
>>
>>735026728
I like it for being able to keep your thumb on a stick and claw grip the d-pad which can be useful, and yeah 2D games would definitely benefit.
I'll check it out, thanks.
>>
>>735027819
It's to my knowledge so far the best way to compare controllers despite the shortcomings. I also bought the blitz2 from this site from ebay thinking I just scammed myself but it turned out to be the best controller I've ever used when I realized steam input recognized it as native dual sense with gyro to mouse, but the ergonomics is a 5/10.
>>
>>735027138
Never pay more than $20 for a chink good unless backed by trusted people from west. Most unchecked Chink shit is going to break within a year.
>>
>>735028187
That is certainly useful if you play souls-likes, for same reason pro-controllers have up to four buttons in the back so you can always keep aiming and shooting for shooters.
>>
>>735027138
works on my machine.
best to buy those over amazon though because of better warranty support.
>>
>>735028425
It is, I'm just venting frustrations with the surface level results painting a completely different image from what you'd see inspecting individual pages. That post's picrel is curated to compensate for that, sorted by price.
Blitz 2 ergo is why I waited for Rainbow 3 instead, 8Bitdo grips vs Xbox grips. As far as I'm aware they're near identical otherwise, and I'd agree it's the best controller I've used.
>>
>>735021953
Either you're lying and fishing for (You)s, or you're a bigger retard for using that controller for 15 years.
I used it once a long time ago and it was the worst controller I have ever used. Shitty d-pad, terrible sticks, flimsy shoulder buttons, and unresponsive face buttons. Couldn't stand it for more than a week.

I don't even know what the name of this thing is because they have so many. It's outlasted the other garbage I've used and has felt better, it has big flaws.
>USB C port shorted out after 2 years of light wired use because there's no form of stress relief
>AA Batteries, so that USB C port isn't charging anything or is it effective for wired use
>Shoulder buttons are 1 single piece of plastic that have tiny thin sticks attached to them that press buttons deep into the controller (had to replace this once already)
>It takes at least 8 seconds to power this thing off holding the Xbox home button down. You could turn a Wavebird on and off 100 times before turning this off once.

I use the Razer Wolverine V3 8K wired. Not a shill but I've tried like 15 controllers over the last 2 years and this thing is super comfy and it was just on sale for $70. It's way better than any $200+ controller. Everything is tactile and it has tmr sticks, four paddles and 2 extra shoulder buttons. The software is simple and gets out of the way. The only downsides are the dpad is a little flimsy but it hasn't failed on me yet, and there's no rumble but whatever.
