Most of the buildings in GTA V are inaccessible as well. Does anything actually meet what you're describing?

Novigrad is interesting

Paris in AC unity is fantastic with most buildings being accessible
>>
>>735022076

GTA V is from like 2013 and it has a shitload of accessible buildings, from clubs to restaurants to golf clubs to bowling alleys to bars to stores.

What does Cyberpunk 2077 have? 3random stands that sell food in the streets and like 5 shops that sell randomly generated clothes?
2020 game btw.
>>
>>735022076
Not them but unironically Watch_Dogs allowed you to walk into buildings and camp there and you could detect your hacker fast enough to hide in there was funny as fuck. Until they started to actually "hack the game" to not be detectable by a scan. (Breaking the PVP.) I figured out a lot of tricks in that game that allowed some very unfair advantage hacking spots and really put the fuckers for a spin as they ran around aimlessly as I was in the one corner they couldn't get to as the circle became too small to get to that point. Most people were big retards. Why play fair when you can abuse the system and fool the enemy into a headless chicken hunt?

that sounds like a huge waste of time and development resources

Novigrad followed by Toussaint, Witcher 3 is unmatched here

> Make an immersive sim RPG
> There's no roleplaying at all as you only have like 2 dialogue options and play a very strict set protagonist
> There's no immersion at all as there's no survival mechanics or interactions with the world
> Claim the game is first person not due to laziness and no budget to make cutscenes but for immersion
>> BUT ADDING ACTUAL IMMERSIVE ROLEPLAYING THINGS TO THE MAP WOULD BE A WASTE OF TIME

Guess it sure wasn't a waste of time to add pointless sex scenes though right?

A lot of the buildings in the sims 3 also can’t be “accessed”, like your sim goes in but you can’t see shit, they’re called rabbit holes and they were controversial at the time

Its Kuttenberg from KCD2 and its not even close. You want every citizen to have a bed they sleep in, its there. Full schedules, like 90% of buildings enterable. Tons of quest and atmosphere. Add on that people will run to report crimes to guards, and the guard will come to start an investigation if they find a body, just adds alot to it.
>>
>>735023558

It's a shithole with nothing to do in full of mindless npcs walking from one corner to the other and if you shoot close to a wheelchair NPC they stand up and run lmao

Night City is trash.
>>
>>735024302

That is so bullshit lmao 90% of the city is not accessible, most NPCs just despawn because they outright have no house. Let alone the city feels extremely dead since eveyrone is just "Townsman" "Goodwife" "Beggar". They coulnd't even bother to make vendors interesting by asking them "hey why is your store called the twitching butthole?".
>>
>>735021880
Kuttenberg obviously, since you were already hinting at it with KCD pics. I wish open worlds didn't have to have zero interiors. That was always annoying.
>>
>>735022382
You can go into hundreds of stores and restaurants in Cyberpunk you ugly chinless retard.
>>
>>735021880
if you want truly immersive game where you can enter lots of places then shadows of doubt
the game uses procedular generation to generate a small city for you to play in
in 16 floor apartment building you can enter every single apartment.

>>
>>735026953

What hundreds of restaurants and stores lmao are you trolling????
Name 5 restaurants you can go into.
CP2077 fans are so mentally ill and it always comes out that they only played the game to masturbate lmao.
>>
>>735027016
are there any unique interactions for the apartment units or they just accessible for sake of saying you could enter all the doors, I remember entering houses in Dragon Dogma 2's city and almost all of them are just empty boxes
>>
>>735027491
that depends on what you count as a unique interaction. you can turn the lights on and off, the tv on, the fridge usually has food in it... there are home computers with email and shit on it specific to the person who lives there that you can break into, though desu the emails are all pretty samey no matter what. maybe a safe with valuables inside.

and of course the homeowners will beat your shit if they find you in there

I guess that makes sense for immersion, would be rather immersion breaking for every single apartment unit IRL to have some kind of side quest when most ppl are just going about their day, thanks for the rec

Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt has the best cities in the genre.
>>
>>735024625
All vendors have names and most of them are involved in quest. It's clear you're lying since you're posting a synagogue and think it's some great win. Guess what, you dumb nigger, it's documente there were jews living in the town at the time when the game takes place. They were later driven out and only returned centuries later. So there's no documented medieval synagogue because it wouldn't survive. But when jews lived there they would certainly have a place to pray.
It's so embarrassing how you retards keep repeating the same talking points and they don't even make sense.

>you can't go into a bunch of buildings
That is virtually all open world games, even in GTA you can't go into every single building, and many of the buildings you go into you don't actually go into it's more of a mini cutscene if anything

For an open world city where you can go into all the buildings, that's the Elder Scrolls, but then you end up with tiny cities that are only a couple of houses.
>>
>>735024302
>90% of the buildings enterable
Nope, there are a bunch of doors, homes, etc that you just flat out can't go into, was jarring for me the first time

Arguably, Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet
>huge
>can enter almost every single building
>hundreds of named NPCs

It's a shame that game is live service gacha stuff because it genuinely detracts from the massive and pretty cool world.
>>
>>735021880
I think GTA V's Los Santos is about as good as it gets in terms of believability, but some of my favorites are Lost Heaven, Los Angeles (LA Noire), and Alexandria (AC Origins).
>>
>>735021880
it's not an entire city but deus ex mankind divided simulates an entire block and does it masterfully, i'd rather have a single block done well than a city that's just a backdrop
