spyro 2 was release in may 1999, the 90s died in 23th December 1998.

I never bothered to look up how it's done or even what it looks like. That's glide->charge->jump quickly all at the apex?
>>
>>735029464
charge at the apex of a standing jump. If you try it while moving your arc will have no vertical gain.
>>
>>735029464
looks like jump, glide and then immediately charge but you probably also have to get the distance from the wall right so you just arc over the edge.

yeah I don't think the first game has backtracking outside of the balloon requirements which you can do the first time you do each level. idk why they added backtracking to 2

Bobs for Vagene absolutely FUCKED Spyro. What a garbage piece of shit remake.
>>
>>735033707
If I were to guess it's probably the thing they use for swapping LOD models. You can't see the low LOD since it's been sent to the main level area since you've moved out of range and all the collision is down there as well.

I'll always be mad over spyro

The reignited trilogy is overall a 1:1 faithful recreation if we are talking purely about gameplay and ignore things like the double jump glitch and slight changes in level geometry.

Artistically though, they are fucked, but thankfully the Reignited Trilogy's biggest advantage over the original games is that they are really easy to mod. You can download mods to change up the skyboxes, character models, music, and sound effects. Once you do that it, is not a bad way to try to experience it.
But Reignited Spyro 100% needs mod to be worthwhile.

I like how universal this glitch is to spyro games. You could even pull this off in Enter the Dragonfly (the king of bugs)

knowing nothing about how spyro is coded, i'm gonna guess you just hit the maximum coordinates for the level and it looped back and started repeating the geometry without collision or entities (since those are still tied only to their 'real' locations)
it's the exact same thing that happens in quake, interestingly

>>735034335
you can just swap stuff out like that at runtime, you don't need to actually have the models waiting in the level someplace. it isn't like swapping out lego blocks with ones in a bin

The double jump glitch in Spyro 2 is one of my favorite glitches ever. It's such a perfect glitch to have in a game where the level design is full of jumps that are just barely out of reach.

The "walk in air glitch" you can do in Enter the Dragonfly is really silly too.

they did a great job with the gameplay and a terrible job with the art direction and weird censorship of random shit. What's even funnier is you can find concept art and other art the artists did. they knew how to make it look right and they just didn't for some reason
>>
>>735036561
he wasn't a male dragon so they couldn't jerk off to him so they had the indian intern draw him
