Can we talk about this genre? Where did all the good survival horror games go after the 2000s?
Survival horror doesn't exist and never has. If you thought these games had survival well that was a skill issue on your part

Different characters have different skills and tools and you can see how they used that in RE1 and a bit in RE2. Re3 onwards its mostly forgotten. The curveball is Sweet Home has rpg fights in first person and top down gameplay.
