Why is playing as Claire so fucking miserable in the OG? Something the remake actually improved upon.

Right. Most people, not even speed-runners realized this and just utterly ditch the cross bow. Handgun + grenade launcher. Fire rounds can do crowd control. Acid or grenade rounds for lickers and bosses.

Why the cross bow sucks:
>sails right above lickers
>spreads very quickly so most bolts miss at a distance
>doesn't even one-shot
>inferior to even the standard shotgun

It's not. She's the EZ moodo.

You can dump all the ammo into the Bow and mow down zombies with ease. It's also a rapid fire weapon compared to shotgun; essentially a pistol++.
And the GL absolutely pulverizes everything, and can carry all the ammo it ever needs "inside" the gun.
