Me and a couple friends pirated it on "release" and had good fun with it. We did the trainer capture bug and got Zoe, and without her the boss battles would've been fucking horrible and annoying as shit. We played another survival crafting slop right after (Enshrouded) that we thought was much better. Palworld wasn't bad but there were too many fucking bugs and pathing issues for the Pals to be truly enjoyable. However, there were some bugs like the hookshot ground into super speed gliding bug that made the game way better, but that's probably fixed now. We'll probably pirate it again when 1.0 releases.
It might have lasted longer if "people" didn't insist on only using it as a cudgel to attack Nintendo.

Minmaxing has been so streamlined that the feeling of exploration and working with what you found is largely gone.

Without flying Pals the terrain just wouldn't work(there's a ton of verticality almost everywhere) but flight should be their only advantage. Every comparable ground/water Pal should be at least twice as fast as whatever flying Pal is around the same tier. Jetragon is fine since they're going to keep increasing legendary levels so it's always going to be restricted to near the end game.
