What are your thoughts on Fanworks? I think the energy that goes into making fangames, Fanart, fanfiction, and even fan made music is foundational to creativity as a whole. Undertale yellow was inspired by undertale, which itself was made by someone who made fangames before, and then theres several fangames being made on 4chan, and the internet as a whole. There are also non undertale fangames being made around these parts, people making fan comics, and more. Has a game ever inspired you to create something? Tell me about it, and share your thoughts on the various fan projects out there.
Look at gacha games. They have a billion fan art contributions when the games are simple 2d checklists.
>>735035286Fangames are illegal, good thing I always let Nintendo know with their email.
>>735035431Honestly that fan stuff is usually the only good thing about those games.

Fanworks?I sure hope it does

Just thought I'd make my presence known early.Feel free to give me a shout if you want to ask me anything, or show me something like a fan work or draft of something you're working on!After a bit of rest I'm going to look at the list of requests sent my way.
>>735035503Fan games are legal as long as you give credit and are not monetizing it. For example Ragnarok Battle Offline.

>>735035872They're not, fangames are illegal and you are disgusting and sick for liking them.
>>735035826I made a request about Cole reuniting with martlet, and the moment I finished typing the request, I NEEDED to start writing it. hopefully will be done shortly.
>>735035910Sega is literally cool with fangames. Sonic Mania was born from fans. PSO2 has a unity fighting spinoff.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2tbcYS01T0

>>735035952It does sound like a very heartwarming idea for them to reunite after everything that's happened.I wish you the best of luck on writing it all out!Of course personally I think Martlet will win the court case. She's the mum Cole deserves and needs.
>>735036086I agree with this post!

>>735036145I hate asking off-topic questions like a retard, but do you accept commissions for non-UTDR works? I recommended you to a friend and he's interested but I don't know where else I can reach out to you.I wonder if we'll eventually see the court case in DRY
>>735036317Yes! One of them is the game where Toby asks you to stop pirating games and buy a switch.
>>735036231She'll win for sure. You just have to believe in Martlet. Cole clearly wants to stay with her.If they truly want wants best for Cole, they'll let him stay with Martlet.

>>735036359is this the new thing on this board concerning everything Undertale?
>>735036419I know about the fangames here, but I meant general fangames outside of 4chan

>>735036418>why don't you complain about the deltarune thread "raids"They aren't the ones linking to their garbage spam sludge here on /v/ from wherever the fuck they bunk out.Your shit is flagrant. There are multiple cross-board posts linking to /v/ from your "general" thread, sometimes in response to posts in your spam threads here.Which again, begs the question: why even come here? Your shit is already fine over in your one containment shithole. Stay the fuck over there.
>>735036359Toby should be on jail for making Earthbound fangames, that fucking bastard
>>735036551I agree with this post!

>>735036495outside of here, not counting single fight fangames (those appear out of no where a lot of the time), there's Wildfire, it's not got as much progress as naranja, but it hasn't shown any sign of being cancelled or getting consumed alive by drama. I'm not as knowledgeable as the fangames from outside of here beyond that.
>>735036541you sound miserable, why do you want to lower this board quality's so much? why bother with one of the few good threads on the entirety of 4chan? do OCs really piss you off that much? maybe something like the sharty is more your speed
>>735036356Nope I don't take commissions. I'm just a drawanon that draws requests here, aiming to contribute to UTY fanworks and discussions with arts.Either the court case will be shown or it will be off screen. Either way routing for Martlet.
Stop responding to the sharteen. They dislike video game discussion and sincerity. The act of creation leaves you vulnerable. you are revealing a part of yourself. Sharteens can't accept the vulnerable parts of themselves so things like that make them upset to think about.
>>735036582>it's not got as much progress as naranjaHonestly, that's insane to hear, I'm pretty sure they have a lot more progress than Naranja, its just that they haven't made it playable yet
>>735036582Imagine making a single fight with stolen code instead of making a full on game.
>>735036053why do all doefags talk the same

>>735036710>I'm pretty sure they have a lot more progress than Naranja, its just that they haven't made it playable yetthats possible, but I have nothing to go off of since they haven't really shown any of it. Still I'm not disparaging Wildfire, they used to come here and post way back, but it's hard to know what kind of progress they've made. Naranja anon seems to have a pretty intense work ethic, so hopefully he doesn't burn out and continues chugging along.

>>735035286>Has a game ever inspired you to create something?Aside from the obvious influence of Undertale and Deltarune, a lot of stuff has inspired individual areas in Oldentale. The East Quarter is pretty heavily inspired the Hong Kong level of Deus Ex, and I came up with Upside Town while Solatorobo.
>>735037316marty,,,,
>>735037386>>735037348but what if I am working on an original game AND a fangame at the same time?

>>735037483Because fangames are illegal, one day Toby is gonna stop letting people make fangames because they won't want to play the original!
>>735037534I agree! Remember what happened with Sonic Omens and how that nearly ruined Sonic fangames?
>>735036541why do you never do this to the regular deltarune threads?
>>735035968Not agreeing with the anon you replied to but Sega becoming cool with fangames is a recent development, they C&D'd the Streets of Rage remake back in 2011
>>735035910depends on the country. In the US, I'm pretty sure even distinct spiritual sucessors aren't safe if the publishers are litigious and are willing to spend a lot of money in legal fees. In Japan their definition of parody is a lot broader than it is here, to the point of allowing an entire industry of for profit fanfiction to exist as long as explicitly bills itself as such. And then you have states like China or Russia which don't recognize international copyright law at all. You can straight up sell illegal copies of the main game in those countries and nothing will happen to you.
>>735037598fortunately we have the creators own recorded words granting us the mandate of heaven. Some companies may be shitty about fangames, but we wield the divine right.Anyone who stands before fangames is courting death!
>735037562>735037534Good job outting yourself as a fake fan, since Toby does allow fangames as he started making fangames/hacks himself, and encouraged it with the latest anniversary stream/Gerson. Or should Nintendo sue him for all the copyright infringement he did in the past instead of plastering him as the poster boy as one of the big switch 2 releases?Anyway, not getting any more (You)s from me
>>735037702I think Nintendo should sue Toby for his crimes against Earthbound!
>>735035286My brain is a fanfiction factory. Any time I watch, read, or play anything its got me wanting to have my own original adventure in that world. I think I never got over the "playing pretend" phase that I had as a child. If I had a better work ethic I'd probably be a prolific (not necessarily good or successful) writer.
>>735036756Cervine mind control
>cole is caught off guard
>>735037785True, toby ruined Earthbound and Homestuck for a lot of people by making them think quirky = good!
>>735037702>Anyway, not getting any more (You)s from meGreat job anon, you're really starving them by only stopping AFTER giving them a response let alone a seething wall of text.

>>735035826I am yet again asking for you to draw Anon and Kitsy rubbing Kitsy's pregnant belly while smiling and thinking of their future child. Kitsy's thought bubble has a half human werefox monstrosity mauling her enemies to death. Anon's has him pushing a little green fox in a propeller hat on a swing.I don't want to be that guy, so this is the last time I'll ask for it.
>>735038028Why don't you AI Generate it?

>>735038059
>>735038085So he's preying on game devs now in order to make more money?
>>735035286Fans keep old games alive, shit like tamriel rebuilt, fallout 2 restoration patch and whole fallout 2 fangames are even better than the original.
I'm watching Star Wars on TV and that's got me thinking, what would an Outertale version of UTY look like? What about the various other fangames?
>>735038170I really ought to go try tamriel rebuilt. I just haven't done a Morrowind playthrough in such a long time.
>>735037586Sonic Mania came out in 2017 and was in development longer than that. More than a decade isn't "recent development"
>>735038148Always has been, toby ain't your friend bro, he's a dude that knows the value of his ip and hires people to protect it accordingly.
>>735035286It's part of the creative project, heavily inspired content has been a thing since man has started being interested in art and literature
>>735038170Fans steal money from devs because of piracy, mods ruin devs more by making them look bad, it literally kills the industry!
>>735038260Finally, someone gets me!
>>735038216Use openMW if you do because on the old engine the game's models jitter like crazy because you can travel so far from the vanilla map that it can't even take it
>>735038347I'll keep that in mind. I'm a bit out of touch on morrowind modding so I'll probably have to do some reading. last playthrough I did there was a big "comprehensive" mod pack.
>>735038347>>735038419Open source promotes free thinking and will be ruined by age verification!
>>735035286I think it's fine to make them if you're a teenger, but after you become an adult you should look to make your own original content based on your life experiences.
>>735038503I agree! This will mean open source projects won't win and the companies will!

>>735038579for me, making people smile, laugh, and hopefully even cry one day, is enough for me. Even if it's a fan work. Maybe especially if it's a fan work. I think there's a lot of value in creating something wholly original, but creation is a virtue, even if its a fan project.

>>735038170>whole fallout 2 fangames are even better than the original. What are they called?
>>735038663>but creation is a virtueyet the more derivative a creation is, the more it loses value.which is the main problem I see with AI works as well. it's stagnation.
>>735039172>>735039183The one where you play the original on steam
>>735039183Who cares if it makes money though right?
>>735039183Using someone else's characters is extremely far from that level of derivative, and just using that world is even less derivative. Again, I'm not denying the virtue of making something wholly original, but fanworks are still virtuous pursuits that make you and the people around you better through the act of creation.
>>735035826Quetzali with Aztec clothes/armor would be nice, you could draw her with sneakers to continue the joke from that other drawing

>>735039365>>735039401What is this? A crossover episode?
>>735039445Hopefully!
>>735039183There is nothing new under the sun. All creative works are derivative, as is all human thought. The problem with AI is that is has no opinion or thought to it. The AI can't put its own spin on things or have unique takes because its a machine which does nothing but continue patterns. It doesn't have opinions at all.I like fan works because they give unique takes and expand upon things I already like.
>Cole and Kanako sat by the lake holding hands, the dry wind blowing through their hair welcoming him home after 4 long years apart. The two had kept in touch, when possible, the only person Cole’s new ‘caretakers’ would tolerate him talking to from his previous home. The two had waited for each other, dearly missing one another’s presence, coming to understand something that they failed to put into words when they had the chance before. Still, even after so long apart, Kanako could sense his unease, the way his eyes fell to the ground when they stopped chatting. When Martlet came up. >The silence carried on for a moment before Kanako squeezed his hand, softly encouraging him, “You should go see her.” >Cole’s frown deepened as he let go of Kanako’s hand, wringing his own together as he laughed nervously, “Hah, I don’t know Kanako. It’s been so long, and I didn’t even tell her goodbye, you know? She- she probably doesn’t even…”>Kanako shoved him with her shoulder as she scooted closer, chastising him firmly, “Hey, don’t you dare say that. You meant the world to her.” Her expression softened as she pried his hands apart, lacing her fingers between his, “You still do. Do you really think she could forget about you? It would mean the world to her to see you again.”>Cole took in a shuddering breath as he replied, “I just, I should have done more. Stopped it somehow, or… I don’t know, something!”>Kanako rolled her eyes as she stood up, pulling Cole stumbling to his feet as she put her foot down on the matter, “Cole we were kids, in way over our heads. It’s a miracle things turned out as well as they did!” She grabbed his arms, memory dancing behind her eyes as she spoke, “I- I wouldn’t have made it through all of that without you. So stop being yourself up,” she surprised him as she spun him around to face the west, towards Martlets house, as she shoved him lightly, “and tell your mom you love her!”

>>735039505>Cole remembered those first steps in that uncertain world. The struggle they shared. Would Martlet really be happy to see him? He gathered his resolve and walked towards the setting sun. Kanako called out once more, stopping him before he left out of sight>“Oh and Cole?” >He turned to face her, seeing a smile warmer than the daylight itself>“Welcome home.”–>He stood before the wooden door to home, or what once was his. He’d woken up many mornings to unfamiliar surroundings, floors that didn’t creek the way he remembered, hallways suspiciously clear of feathers. Turning the corner expecting blue warmth, and instead meeting cold obligation. It took him a long moment to summon up the courage to knock on the door. Even with Kanako’s pep talk, doubt gnawed at him from within. The sound was unfamiliar, he’d never needed to knock before after all. Seconds, turned to minutes, felt like hours, before a rustling could be heard from within, and a familiar voice called out light and feathery.>“Be right there!”>Cole’s gut twisted, she sounded happy, carefree. What right did he have to interrupt her life after everything that’s happened? He started to turn, he should just leave before she knows he’s here. It’s really you!” Her voice strained through the tears as she sobbed, “I thought I’d never see you again!” >Cole gasped, as her words crashed into him. 4 years of doubt vanished in an instant as the tears stung at his own eyes. He returned the hug desperately as he struggled to speak, “I- t-thank you so much for givin’ me home back then. >>735039831The fundamenals of humanity are human behaviors and habits, which have remained the same for all of recorded history. People still think and react to stimuli the same way we did a million years ago, and everything flows from that. Which makes it all work basically the same as it did before. For all of our progress, we still have all the same strengths and weaknesses and all the same problems in some form or another, we still structure everything along the same lines. Sometimes we change the names to pretend that things are different, but that too is another habit that we've had since our inception.

>>735040358I don't really think so. I guess you can say it's "split" in the sense that different people play the different games, but plenty of people play and make mods for both. There's less activity with SRB2K now but that game is also a full fucking decade older by this point, so that's not really a big deal. You can find active servers for both.I personally don't really like SRB2K, though, so if any active SRB2K modders moved to DRRR I can see the people who wished they'd continue making stuff for SRB2K being upset about that.

Most of the stories told in Rome were just derivative works of Greek stories or derivative works of each other, and those Greek works were usually also derivative of other story. Fiction itself is nothing but derivative stories filtered and changed through individual author's worldviews going back to cavemen telling stories around campfires.

I saw the post came well after I went to bed. the answer is "kind of".Because it was also inspired by the discussion around it in one of the threads. I kept the "partially clothed" version up in a tab as I kept going back to the conversation, and my own feelings of being overworked, and the autism just kind of came together you know?
>>735039734By the way here's preview of some of what I've written for the Zenith Martlet absorbing Clover's soul and turning him into a monster story.>Clover wasn't quite sure how to describe this sudden peculiar change of circumstance...>Anger was all he could feel. Hatred was all that came to mind when he thought of monsters.>But he didn't have such feelings when he fought Martlet. Even during a life or death battle.>Was that why Clover faltered? Was that why he hesitated every so often during their fight?>He could see Martlet's reactions. A perplexed look. Like some kind of certainty was shattered.>At some point Clover felt the two of them were forcing a fight. As if someone had to die no matter.>Maybe that's why Clover decided to just...stop. Take the hit, and just let death take him. He was...tired of all this.>But death never came. A huge wave of pain did instead. Martlet weakened the blow at the last second. Seemed she caught onto something.>Clover remembered her face as she looked at his injured but still alive body.>Confused, angry, sorrow, regret...pity?>It looked like she saw something she wanted to see. Like she knew it was always there, but angry that she saw it.>Clover didn't understand. He was just tired. He just wanted her to end it. What did it matter? He'd just end up fighting her again. Clover never really had a choice.>That's why he just left his soul out to make it easier. An easy death. An easy kill for her.>But death...never came.>She didn't shatter it. Or crush it. Or slice it apart, like she did in previous fights.>After staring at Clover, as if she was contemplating something, she reached out and grabbed his soul...gently.>After what he did, Martlet was holding his soul gently? Why? He doesn't deserve mercy. Clover knows that.>And yet... this bird of prey was so careful about his soul now.
>>735041004>That's been around for hundreds of thousands of years. If you want to consider that as "something new" than humanity itself is still new. Ok but that's beside the point. I can also bring up other examples. You're now moving goalposts from "remained the same throughout history" to "ok but this isn't new to ME">but the people are the same as they were back thenThey're not though. Again, you can literally pick 2 different people from the opposite sides of the world and compare the differences. And since we all have the same ancestor, you see how we can change over time.
>>735035286What's with the redditor shitting up this thread?
>>735041341>Clover felt uneasy. He was weakened. Vulnerable. Waiting for a demise that seemingly never came.>Dying felt so natural, that somehow it felt wrong that he wasn't dead yet.>Martlet just...held the soul in her hands. She just stared it. She stared at Clover. That back at the soul.>What was she thinking? Clover couldn't tell. He was just waiting for death.>But the death...never came.>Why wasn't he dead yet? Why wasn't she killing him? Why wasn't anything happening like usual.>Clover was still injured. He was still exhausted. He was at her mercy, just like the other times.>But there was no fade to black. Just a stillness that dragged on.>What exactly was happening here?>Martlet let out a sigh. At least that what Clover believed she did. He couldn't really tell. His vision was blurred, all senses stopped functioning properly.>Her mouth was moving. Was she saying something to him? Did it really matter in this situation?>Clover just wished she'd get it over with. What good would words do now? Clover couldn't make sense of anything.>Clover didn't react to anything, he just waited. And waited. And waited, with a dead emotionless expression on his face.>So used to a pattern that he never noticed...that gradual feeling of confinement.>It felt small at first, but the feeling got stronger by the second. It didn't feel like death. No it felt more like...>That's when Clover snapped into reality. That's when he saw Martlet doing something completely unexpected.>His soul. His being. The object that had been destroyed so many times by her, was being drawn into her body.>She was...taking in his soul? Why? Why was she doing that? Why wasn't she killing him? Why wasn't she behaving like the other times?>Clover couldn't make sense of it. Was this some kind of mercy? Why was she showing him mercy? Especially now? What changed?

>>735041341>>735041406>Writing in greentextGood job retard.
>>735041406>He was to weak to back fight against what she was doing. In the state he was in now, he couldn't stop what was happening.>Even if he resisted from within her, his soul would still be confined within her body. And what then?>Clover didn't like this. This sudden change of the norm. This unexpected outcome being thrust upon him.>Why couldn't things be simple. Why couldn't this just be another fight to the death?>Why did Clover even care? It's not like killing Asgore would bring the fallen humans back.>So many questions Clover didn't want to think about. It was easier that way. So why was he thinking now?>Why was it that he always thought about something when Martlet involved herself with him?>Why couldn't he bring himself to continue fighting her the first time?>Why did he spare her the second time they met?>But the one thing on his mind, the one thing that strangely made this bearable. Something which he couldn't quite comprehend.>Why did it feel like he was being embraced? This is the end of the preview.
>>735041335>I kept the "partially clothed" version up in a tab as I kept going back to the conversation, and my own feelings of being overworked, and the autism just kind of came together you know?Ah, that's makes sense.I'm just glad something I made was able to, even partially, inspire something so good.I do really want to draw more Ceroba/Anon stuff, even outside of requests or anything, but I still want to chip away at the stuff that's already at the top of my priority stack, so I'm afraid it's gonna be a little while.
>>735041341>>735041406>>735041485not bad, and there's nothing wrong with writing in greentext, just keep in mind that it has a different flow from "proper paragraphs". It can come across just fine, and it's not bad there, it just risks being more "stilted" than the alternative depending on how long you want to make it you know?I'm excited to see more.
>>735041584Its because I have to squint in order to read it.
>>735041652yeah I get that. That's why I mentioned it's based on how long the story is. If you're going to make the story fairly short, it's not a big deal. if it's going to be "feature length" then it may be worth considering breaking up the pacing with paragraphs.
>>735041280Literally why? It's a platformer with slow and clunky design. No sense of flow at all. A good platformer should feel kind of like a rhythm game, once you get good and you can fly through it. Rayman never offers you this. It offers you slow scrolling platforms, and enemies that are annoying to fight. Also, I hate that gay dance he does when you get to the end of an area. That alone basically makes me not want to play.
>>735041742Rayman is a platformer, not a rhythm game, if I wanted to play a rhythm game, I'd play Guitar Hero.
>>735041584Oh the actual story isn't in greentext, I just put it in greentext when showing the preview cause everyone seems to post short stories in greentext for some reason.I'm excited to eventually share it to.
>>735035826Nude Martlet or Zenith in a sexy and very revealing pose.
>>735041819Ahh that makes sense. the greentext thing is just one of those old ancient things. It seperates the story visually from just a normal post and so I think people just started doing it after a certain point.
>>735041795Platformers are about mobility, not about standing around waiting for the game to let you play.
>>735041341Huh, finally got around to this, have you?Well, the actual writing style seems well done, as usual, but I think you understand if I'll be refraining from reading any further, given our history.Still, well done on your part.

The same is true of people 500 years ago. As long as humanity as existed, the human condition has, and it will continue to exist for as long as humanity remains humanity. Whatever happened before or after humanity is beyond the scope of debate and really isn't worth consideration, which is why I say nothing new under the sun. >>735044130>It may not be for everyone, but I'm having fun, and as a writer that's what matters.Quite true.I remember some fairly crass, but apt metaphor for creative endeavors, likening them to a man's penis.Namely, that it's all well and good if you're having fun with it, just so long as it isn't being shoved down anyone's throat against their will.As long as such a rule is adhered to, I see no problems here.
>>735045350Yeah, but the rest of her body still looks mostly human, just covered in fur/feathers/scales, a tentacle monster is a tier above that

>>735045602>the grandkids
>human beholder hybrid
>>735045932Honestly, I just imagine human/monster children would work like devil hunters.Except for some who are inexplicably still anthros.
>>735046068Devil hunters from what? Also, I subscribe the "literally anything" model of hybrid children. Where literally any combination or extrapolation of the parents' traits is possible.
>>735035826Bird Clover Martlet version, and Bird Clover Zenith Martlet version talking about how they become bird monsters, and what lead to their transformations.

Where literally any combination or extrapolation of the parents' traits is possible. That would make sense, yeah.I still imagine the more human-ish offspring would be like the human/devil hybrids from DMC, with them being mostly human but with a tiny amount of monster essence that gives them cool powers.
>>735046378>with them being mostly human but with a tiny amount of monster essence that gives them cool powers. So basically human magicians? Imagine them having a devil trigger form based on the species of their monster parent

>>735046501>Humans in UT have cool powers anyways because its a jrpg world. No human power in UT is as cool as Dante getting skewered with a greatsword, and then proceeding to remove himself from it by levitating off of it and going through the entire fucking hilt for no reason. He is simply too cool.

>>735047283What if he did it with The Knight's sword bullets?
>>735047327Eh, maybe.Honestly, I just don't think I could see Kris doing something so cool like that, they'd probably just freak out about the sword going through their entire chest.
>>735047505Kris is an aura farmer above all else. The Knight would stab him like that specifically so he could do it.
>>735047549Yes, but they still aren't that cool. Not Dante cool.
>>735047676Do you really think a crossbreed between a human like them and the kind of goober that your average Undertale monster is would produce something as cool as Dante?
>>735047732...Depends on the monster. And the human.I think I could at least see a human/monster hybrid being like Nero, at least.Like, DMC4 Nero.
>>735048059What human and what monster?
>>735048306That's a tough one.Maybe if the human warlord seen in UT's opening got down with an equally fierce monster, maybe that'd yield a child fit to be a devil hunter.

>>735051865>Peregrine Mendicantit's all coming together. you want to protect someone who could also realistically hold you close protecting you. Train wrecks that are carrying on with their lives trying to make the best of it. I don't know anything about laserhawk.
>>735051801>I can understand wanting to fix/protect themYes, I do greatly like the idea of helping and protecting a broken/vulnerable character like that, even if it would potentially cost me my life in the process.>I can't undestand the CBT part tho.Okay, it's not always so specific as that.I have other suffering-related fetishes too you know. That aside, sometimes I just like to see a character I like broken and torn apart, mentally or physically, though not often sexually. I have no desire to see gore of any kind, and I don't really like even minor pain in sexual contexts, so usually I go for a different flavor of suffering instead.
>>735035286There's this FNAF fangame that came out a few days ago that I've been playing which is really good. It's like a roguelike where you have to choose which robots to let into your place which in turn makes your game harder, it's pretty neat.I generally respect the passion that goes into fangames/mods and such unless it's something really bad like HDtF. Played Black Mesa a while back and it was neat, honestly better in some areas than the original Half-Life (though a bit worse in others like Xen being way too long for it's own good). Always love shit like that, considering that I have a whole bunch of Half-Life mods I've played. Also of course AM2R and Thief the Black Parade.
>>735052381>It's like a roguelike where you have to choose which robots to let into your place which in turn makes your game harder, it's pretty neat.I've never played FNAF but that sounds like a neat twist on things. I completely forgot about AM2R, I still need to give it a shot.
>>735051971>you want to protect someone who could also realistically hold you close protecting you.I-You actually got me. That makes perfect sense. I felt that "click", the same kind I felt after having those dreams. But even if that's true, that's only one piece of the puzzle. That doesn't explain my attraction to Racter or Reynault, or all the other strange little creatures I have an affinity for, so this remains an enigma.
>>735051602What makes Racter a fuck up?
>>735052619I adjusted things to train wreck in my next post, because he's a coward in the worst profession for a coward. Though I realize now the mental real estate I'm using to deduce the inner workings of an anons sexual proclivities. >>735052532even if this makes me laugh.
>>735052532Reynault is pretty strong, mentally and physically, but he's also got the inherent vulnerability of being a cripple with a degenerative condition. That ticks both boxes.Racter is a complete wimp and weak as shit, so that ticks one box, and if you self insert as the soul, he's protecting you by being your body. You can't really be held closer than being someone's heart and soul.
>>735052381>fnaf fangamesounds like a rouglike version of pizzaria sim. What's it called?>Hl fangamesYou played the Entropy Zero games? They're pretty good. What are your thoughts on Undertale fangames?
>>735052443>I've never played FNAF but that sounds like a neat twist on things. The second to last game in the mainline series did that with its salvage mechanic. Albeit it wasn't a roguelike.
>>735050304I feel like Martlet would think some of them are cute
>>735052730>Reynault is pretty strong, mentally and physically, but he's also got the inherent vulnerability of being a cripple with a degenerative condition. That ticks both boxes.Maybe. I'm not sure a monster like him could adequately protect me from much, and he certainly doesn't seem to be particularly emotionally open. His disability does do something for me, but perhaps not in the way you may be thinking of right now. Having something of a physical disability since I was a child, thoughts of caring for, and being cared for, in ways that pertain to it are admittedly something I find on my mind with some frequency. The idea of caring for Reynault, helping him in everyday life, is something that speaks to me on a certain level. There's a certain tenderness, I find, in having to physically rely on someone for aid, but with Reynault I see it mostly going one way.>Racter is a complete wimp and weak as shit, so that ticks one box, and if you self insert as the soul, he's protecting you by being your body. You can't really be held closer than being someone's heart and soul.Racter's general patheticness does make me want to protect him from harm and comfort him, but I don't think I'd feel especially safer inside his body than my own, given the physical differences between humans and monsters. And depending on whether or not he's the one who killed me, I may very well be hostile towards him instead, and I may just try and see if I can pull a Xehanort on him.Otherwise, I still mostly see him as someone in need of protection, rather than someone who could protect me to any real degree.
>>735052697>I adjusted things to train wreckI'd say those are synonyms. I'd call Racter unfortunate more than anything. The army needed a bunch of fodder mobs to throw into the dust mill and he was unlucky enough to be conscripted into it.
>>735052697>even if this makes me laugh. That theory may have landed a good hit, but I maintain that some of my tastes are still completely undefinable, I will beat the "wants to protect and be protected" allegations.
>>735053020>but I don't think I'd feel especially safer inside his body than my own,I would assume your body is no longer an option if you're in his. Seems like it'd either be him or the cold hard ground.
>>735052697>because he's a coward in the worst profession for a coward. Actually, I have a question about that. Was Racter drafted, or did he sign up willingly? If the former, I wouldn't really blame him, other than perhaps for not having the backbone to dodge, but if the latter, then yeah, that's fair.
>>735053087>I will beat the "wants to protect and be protected" allegations.I don't think you can beat those allegations. Only argue that despite them, you also have other strike zones as well.
>>735053140Well yes, that was my point. If Racter's the one responsible for taking my soul in this context, then I don't think I'd be viewing him as some kind of savior for wresting my soul from my hardy, physical body, and taking me into his weaker, magic body.
>>735053178>>735053042I'm not oldentale anon but it's not about blaming him. It's more that being terrified all the time turns you into a nervous wreck, a train wreck. Someone scared of his own shadow put into a life or death situation? poor little bastard.
>>735053020>and he certainly doesn't seem to be particularly emotionally open. You sure that isn't part of the appeal? The way you talk about him makes it sound like you take that as a challenge.
>>735053190>I don't think you can beat those allegations.I don't need protection I don't need anyone but myself I'll kill you
>>735053238Do you think that wimpy little chicken would be capable of killing you?
>>735053254>Someone scared of his own shadow put into a life or death situation? poor little bastard.I guess, yeah.
>>735052443>>735052821It's this FNAF fangame called Five Nights at Frickbear's 3. It's kind of like a mix between Pizzeria Sim and Ultimate Custom night wherein every night you effectively have to pick your poison and choose which animatronics are active on the next night, in exchange for getting cash that you can convert into upgrades like having more power or being able to tell where characters are on the map.I think fans have a better grasp on the whole "sit in an office and fend off threats" thing than Scott does honestly.>You played the Entropy Zero games? I've played Entropy Zero 1 and 2, Black Mesa, Echoes, Delta Particles, Field Intensity, Cry of Fear, Snowdrop Escape, Evacuation, They Hunger,,Poke646 and it's sequel, and SUM.I don't really play Undertale fangames though.
>>735053262>You sure that isn't part of the appeal? The way you talk about him makes it sound like you take that as a challenge.Sigh.Yeah, it would be nice to help him open up more over the course of a relationship in whatever insane context this would happen in.Though that does mean it would still likely be one way for the most part, though I can't imagine what I would need much support from him for anyway.
>>735053452Probably not, but he wound up with a human soul anyway, so maybe he's got a trick up his sleeve.Even if he found me lethally wounded, I imagine he could've used a healing item or some magic on me instead of just absorbing me, and I'd probably remain hostile if he intended on absorbing me for a power boost even if he wasn't the one responsible for injuring me.
>>735053574Maybe he could provide some much needed comic relief when you're feeling down. Or give you some advice on coping with perpetually miserable situations that only ever seem to get worse.
>>735053670>using a healing item on an injured one of the things that have been slaughtering your people wholesalelook, I get that it works in stories when someone does something like that, but you can't actually blame the guy for not doing that.
>>735053670What if he found you already dead?
>>735053190In all seriousness, I would argue that while there may perhaps be some ever so slight connective thread between some of the characters I like, that may or may not paint such a picture as to what my tastes are, the full breadth of characters I have feelings for makes determining any one or handful or primary themes near impossible. For example, I like Chujin, but I don't feel either a need to protect him, or the desire to be protected by him, leaving him as an exception.I also like Yi and Lady Ethereal from Nine Sols for completely unrelated reasons to what I've been accused of, so I think those throw things off too.
>>735053791>but you can't actually blame the guy for not doing that.I'm not blaming him for not doing that in general, I'm saying I would much rather, if he were trying to help me for whatever reason, that he would try something less extreme than soul-absorption first.
>>735053972ah I see I missed that.
>>735053824Well then it depends on his reasoning for absorbing me.Was he trying to actually do something for me, or was he collecting my soul for the war effort, to use me as a resource? If he was trying to help me, I think I might be a little irate for a while depending on what being absorbed is like, but I might come around to him eventually, once the whole "I died" thing has time to set in.If he accidentally absorbed me because he was trying to use my soul for something, I'm going hostile and staying hostile, I'll take complete control if I can and keep on fighting.
>>735053760Hm, maybe.I usually don't get too down, but when I do, it's not usually the sort of thing a good laugh can help with. Not that I wouldn't appreciate the effort, it'd just largely be a moot point. You've also said he's very small, so I'm not sure he could give me a good "stop being sad" hug, but I would accept what he could give.
>>735054048Don't worry about it, I phrase things weird sometimes.Anyway, bottom line is, being inside Racter sounds great, but I'd rather not have things go so literally if I can help it.
Well, finally finished my work for the day.I'm gonna go draw something unpleasant (but sfw) happening to Racter, take a load off.
>>735054086As a complete aside, how do you think soul absorption works? Do you think monsters really have to make a will save to not become the human's new body? How do you think one would accidentally absorb a soul?
It's odd to read German literature from the 18th century and realize that kobolds aren't just something made up for DnD. Since they're mythological creatures they would fit as monsters in UT/DR, but unfortunately anyone adding them would be thought of as unoriginal as they're so popular among Twitter artists.
>>735055054>Since they're mythological creatures they would fit as monsters in UT/DR,UT/DR monsters don't have to be mythological, you know. If anything they're usually more based on game monsters, hence the name. They're meant to be monsters like you'd fight in a jrpg, only sillier. DnD would also fit, since JRPGs take most of their influence from DnD.
>>735055043>As a complete aside, how do you think soul absorption works?I think there has to be some amount of conscious effort on the monster's part, both to not destroy the soul on accident (it is worth pointing out that most damage sources seen in UTDR are magic in nature, while physical things like Kris kicking around the soul or hitting it with a stick seemingly did no damage, which could potentially imply that human souls are impervious to physical damage, but are vulnerable to magic. Which, feels like it makes sense, honestly) and to not potentially absorb it on accident. I imagine the human souls were kept in those containers for both their safety, and so they wouldn't latch on to someone accidentally.>Do you think monsters really have to make a will save to not become the human's new body?Quite possibly. Asriel says he had to make a conscious effort to not destroy the humans who attacked him when he had Chara's soul, and he was a boss monster, so his soul was stronger than the average monster's anyway. For an average monster, unless they have a lot of DT, it's possible absorbing a human soul could be a great way to get yourself 'Norted.>How do you think one would accidentally absorb a soul?Physically? I'm thinking of it like when two water droplets initially push up against each other due to surface tension, before merging into one droplet as that tension breaks.Metaphysically? Perhaps it would require one or both parties involved to be unaware of what's happening. None of the six human souls resisted being absorbed by Flowey, and people theorize the souls had effectively gone unconscious from being kept in the jars for so long, so maybe if you had an unaware soul and an unaware monster suddenly touch, they might merge spontaneously.
>>735055393>Kris kicking around the soulhim stomping it did ten damage>Norted. What's that mean?>if you had an unaware soul and an unaware monster suddenly touch, they might merge spontaneously. So how would you react if that happened to you?
>>735055579>him stomping it did ten damageWell, the stick still didn't do anything, so maybe flesh is different somehow.Kris is a soulless human, and so was Chara, and Chara manages to do damage to you without a soul, so maybe "living" beings behave differently.>What's that mean?Picrel. He's the antagonist of most of the Kingdom Hearts series directly and indirectly, but his first direct appearance (sorta, don't quote me on that) was in Birth By Sleep, and one of the things he does is unlock his own heart so he can steal the body of Terra, who he's been teaching to use the power of darkness for the sake of making him into a new vessel for his heart. However, even though he was able to completely take over his body and heart, Terra's mind survived within his keyblade armor, which he used to defeat Xehanort in battle, though he was unable to reclaim his body. Terra stays in the exact spot where he lost his body for years, waiting to have the chance to fight Xehanort again.Anyway, this happens multiple times, so the KH community calls it "'Norting" someone whenever Xehanort steals someone's body.>So how would you react if that happened to you?Am I the soul? How long was I dead for?I guess I'd be slightly relieved that certain notions about death weren't true after all, but once I'm over that, I'd probably want to try and get my own sovereignty back at some point. Being fused is very nice and intimate, but I like having a body, especially my body, so I'd probably want to get back to that if it's in decent condition.Am I still fused with Racter, or is this some other monster for this hypothetical?
>>735055276They don't have to be, but it's a major source of their inspiration. I don't think any jrpgs had monsters based on the mythological undine, but we have Undyne. Kobolds are both mythological and from gaming, so they would definitely exist in UT/DR's setting. Like you said everything tends to be silly so we'd probably see derpy twitter-type kobolds rather than the ugly gremlins they are in mythology. I would prefer if they are background characters since no matter how you cut it they would look derivative.
>>735055939>Am I still fused with Racter, or is this some other monster for this hypothetical?Either or. I'm mainly just interested in your take at this point. What do you do if your body is simply unusable? Like its rotted away, or was destroyed when you died.
>>735056134Why not derpy gremlins like in that mold tasting comic? That feels the most UT to me. They would still need some extra added gimmick or gag. Also gremlins might be fun addition to UT. Just make them the bugs bunny cartoon version that sabotage air plane engines.>I don't think any jrpgs had monsters based on the mythological undine, but we have UndynI'm sure there are RPGs with nymphs or mermaids in them, which are both themselves based on undine. That aside, I think Undyne's namesake might actually be an anime reference. There's a character in Claymore names Undine who's an incredibly buff warrior woman, with a very similar personality to Undyne. She even carries two giant swords and yells about how much she hates whiny weaklings.
>>735056223>Either or. I'm mainly just interested in your take at this point.I do like it when people want to hear the weird things I have to say.Anyway, if I'm fused with Racter, and it was a complete accident, I wouldn't hold it against him too hard. I'm not sure what the plan would be other than simple survival, but if Racter ends up resisting my attempts to try and keep us alive, that could be a problem. I wouldn't go off on a rampage to become more powerful, but I would want to make sure we're sufficiently armed and equipped to kill if we need to. The power of a monster with a single human soul is supposedly pretty strong, so ideally I wouldn't have too much trouble navigating the war, even if I have to use violence. I'd try and keep Racter calm and stabilized, comforting him when possible, even if for no other reason than to make sure he doesn't freeze up and get us killed.>What do you do if your body is simply unusable? Like its rotted away, or was destroyed when you died.I would very strongly miss having the same facial structure and appearance of JC Denton. What a shame. That aside, is getting a new body off the table? How're robotics looking at the time, can I pilot a robot body like Mettaton? I'd settle for something less elegant, I'd take something like a Cyberman's body, I just want to be able to have my own form again. Hey, Terra in KH did it with a suit of armor (pic related), maybe that'll work for me. I guess I'd need to find a good set though. If I'm stuck with Racter, then I'm just left with the two options, either building up my relationship with him, maybe hopefully in certain ways that have already been depicted, or taking direct control if things go south. Here's the real question though, how long are we gonna live? Boss monsters are conditionally immortal because of their souls, but what about a normal monster with a human soul, how long do they stick around for?Or more accurately, how long am I going to be stuck with Racter for?
>>735056705No way have I been arguing with JC Denton in these threads. But it makes so much sense with how you act and talk.
>>735056909>No way have I been arguing with JC Denton in these threads. Not yet you haven't been, I haven't gotten the full outfit together.I was given a pair of shades that look exactly like his by my father when I was a very young child though, so I simply must make the complete outfit. The leather trenchcoat will likely be the hardest part, since his is so specifically designed. I do already have a leather trenchcoat, but it's not similar enough for me to modify it into looking like his.I digress, my point was that it'd be a damn shame to lose this body of mine.
>>735057150I'm just gonna imagine the UNATCO conversation theme every time I read your posts from now on
>>735057150>sunglassesAnd they still fit you?>trenchcoatTry seeing if Wilson's Leather has what you want. I have a trenchcoat from them and it has served me faithfully for years.>>735057338We need a Malkavian Mod for Undertale.
>>735057338That's fair. I do actually listen to the DX soundtrack a lot for background noise, so odds are I've probably had it playing while arguing at one point.>>735057363>And they still fit you?Like a glove, somehow.Pretty good condition for being well over 20 years old, too.>Try seeing if Wilson's Leather has what you want.Their stuff looks good, but I'm not seeing any dark blue trenchcoats with metal buckles in place of buttons, so I don't think that'll work, unless they do custom jobs.
>>735056909Anyway, back to the other thing, how long would I be stuck in Racter's body for, if I can't get my own again somehow?
>>735057363>We need a Malkavian Mod for Undertale. What would be some of the gags?
>>735057590I have no idea, I didn't really think that far ahead.
>>735057363>We need a Malkavian Mod for Undertale.I wanna see a Nameless Mod for Undertale, that'd be a trip.
>>735057643So I could potentially be stuck with the bird for as long as we live, and that might be forever? How's he feeling about that?
>>735057693Would the whole thing be set in /vrpg/? Or would it be like a three way war between /vrpg/, /trash/, and /vg/?
>>735057737Well I think he'd prefer it to being dead. There's got to be some assurance had from "you'll live forever as long as no one kills you".
>>735057770>Or would it be like a three way war between /vrpg/, /trash/, and /vg/?This sounds good, maybe it takes place in the aftermath of the war after one side won.
>>735057908No, it should either be during it, or just before it starts. Since its meant to be based on the site culture.
>>735057840>Well I think he'd prefer it to being deadGenerally, yes.>There's got to be some assurance had from "you'll live forever as long as no one kills you".Maybe, but he'll also outlive everyone he knows and loves, and he'll be stuck with me for the whole time too.Plus, if we survive the war, he might end up being the one planned to absorb the other six human souls, since he'll already have one in him anyway. How would he feel about all that? Surely he'd have his concerns.
>>735058005>just before it startsOh, that could be better. Then the story branches could split between preventing the war and maintaining peace, or causing the war and making sure one of the sides wins, or that they all lose, and what happens is determined by the choices you make and who you kill along the way.
>>735035286the only people I've ever seen having issues with Fangames are japs/chinks/koreans and that's propably because of how much their fucked up copyright "laws" fucked them into that condition.
>>735058273the japanese do get weird about modding from what I've seen.
>>735058273I have never seen a North Korean have an issue with a fangame.Once again, North Korea is best Korea.
>>735058349kek
>>735058315iI's because nintendo literally lobbied to make mods/hacks illegal over thereThey only exist in very underground circles
>>735058171Ok, so the site itself is like one big city. With the individual boards being like neighborhoods or blocks, and there are factions in these boards that are at odds with each other. There's probably other stuff going on too with the other users of the site, but that's in the background while the story focuses on the Unndertale fans on those three boards, likely told from the perspective of a /v/ poster who gets pulled into the /vrpg/ side of things.
>>735058404are developer sanctioned mods not a thing there? Like say what Valve does with mods of its games, where it gives out tools, and even offers players a platform to distribute them.
>>735058443Yeah, that all sounds about right.Shame it's not 2002 anymore, or else someone might actually make that a thing.
>>735058603you could always make it if you really want it to exist.
>>735058653Sorry, not my bag.The idea's fun, but I'm no programmer.
>>735035286I like fan projects, but i also think they are a waste of potential effort in the sense of why make something like an Undertale Yellow, when you could just make an original creation inspired by what you actually like from the original?
>>735058789that's understandable, but toby got his start making fan works like that before he made undertale. He spent years on the fangame community before doing his own thing.
>>735058789Because it wouldn't be the same. I have a story I want to tell in Undertale's world and themes that can only be properly explored through an Undertale fangame.
>>735057840I guess at the end of the day, I suppose I'd just try and do right by him if I can.I do feel that protective desire towards him, and if him absorbing me was a complete accident, I couldn't really hold that against him for long.I guess the overall plan is to just keep living, together, if we have to.And also get close enough to him to the point where limb possession handjobs are on the table. I imagine he probably hasn't done anything so intimate with another person before, and certainly wouldn't have after absorbing my soul, so it'd be cute to hear him squeak and moan during his first time, even if I'm just a soul.
>>735058825Yeah i guess i just never saw the point in that. Something like art is one thing, its low investment, but making a whole game is a significantly more intense process. Even as a kid, I was inspired by Mario RPG and wanted to make my own version, but at no point did i literally want to use Mario in it and instead ended up making my own original setting. Sometimes just feels like we are losing out on unique ideas when a Sonic autist decides to just make stuff using those characters only and not make their own spin on the aspects that strike a chord and tickles the 'ol tism.
>>735058946See, what you do is make a game that's just a legally distinct version of the fangame you wanted to make, and then release a mod that converts the game back into being about what it was before for free.
They're 10x more respectable than indie games because they don't try to copy the source work and pass it off as their own and sell it for moneyThat being said having creators try to make something original is the best option of all, because all we're talking about here is flavors of derivatives. Some people are very talented and it's wasted only doing things for a fandom. Toby would have been like that if he didn't pivot to creating Undertale
>>735059060>Sometimes just feels like we are losing out on unique ideas when a Sonic autist decides to just make stuff using those characters only and not make their own spin on the aspects that strike a chord and tickles the 'ol tism.also understandable, but it's possibly, if not likely that these people would have never considered practicing this art at all if it hadn't been for that autism. Not ever one of them will go on to make something other than a fangame, but they themselves will create an experience, and also inspire others. To give a different angle on this that's a bit lower investment. I would have never tried writing for myself if it wasn't for the fan fictions I read from people on this very site. It all ripples outwards, creations inspiring creations in ways that may not have happened otherwise.
>>735058946There's nothing specifically unique about the world of UT that only it can do, unless the story was about a specific character with a set personality.
>>735059182I don't know, I think if you came up with a story which had a bunch of imprisoned monsters in a cave and involved time travel, people would go, "That's just Undertale, isn't it?" If a combination of ideas is good enough that you want to keep it, it's better to just make fanfiction than copying it into something different but obviously a ripoff.
>>735059182>>735059330mondealy tried to make its own underground monster kingdom and besides immediately thinking of UT, the setting made no sense in the long run, specially when the protagonist can go back and forth and literally no one knew an entire kingdom was just buried underground in their town
>>735059090That wouldn't be the same though. The story would still have to work on its own as a standalone thing, both thematically and narratively.>>735059182I can't tell a direct prequel story about the humans and monsters from Undertale, set during events mentioned in Undertale, while playing off the player's expectations from Undertale, and playing around with the rules of Undertale's world and its unique meta setting in a unique setting. And what I could do, I would have to setup entirely myself, meaning I spend most of the game retreading Undertale just so the player was ready for the stuff I actually wanted to do.I don't want to make a game. I specifically want to make an Undertale game.
Alright, chapter 2 of "The man in the fox's court" is written. Just going to proof read it, miss obvious mistakes anyways, and then get it posted.
>>735059859Ey, nice to hear!
>>735059182There's nothing worse than a cheap knock off. Writing a cheap knock off and gimping yourself narratively because you're afraid of copyright is the waste. Not making a fangame for free.
>>735059859Cool, I've been waiting for chapter 2 to release before I started reading.
>>735040746I wanna know what Racter's finale segment would be like.I like the idea of Racter not actually being the one in control in this form, with the souls themselves being the ones using him as a vessel to consolidate power, so I imagine you'd have to call out to Racter for help instead.Hopefully he'd survive all that.
Someone made a DRY AU with a sonic OC replacing Kanako for some reason.I really don't get it.
>>735060681You cannot escape donut steel OCs on the internet, even when they replace waifus.
>>735060737things really slowed down in here
>>735061806There just isn't anything else to talk about
>>735062068There's plenty to talk about, it's just been a busy weekend.
A fucking transformer in my neighborhood exploded while I was out on a walk, and now I can't work on my Racter drawing. This sucks.
Alright"The Man in the Fox's Court" chapter 2 is done. I got lost along the way several times making it, and felt a little odd about creating original characters to make things tie together in a way I could live with, but ultimately it is what it is.https://archiveofourown org/works/80141551/chapters/213714371#workskinI also applied some of the advice one of you gave me in regards to chapter 1, and tried to keep that advice in mind as I worked on chapter 2.>>735059894>>735060062I hope it is in some way worth the wait.
>>735062328My condolences anon, did you lose progress or is it at least saved up to the current point?
>>735060072>you call out to Racter, reminding him of all the good times you two had>his soul stays silent, it's not like his wishes mattered when you tried to have a good time right?>...>There's nothing you can remind him of then, Maybe you weren't sharing these experiences like you thought.>so instead you tell him.>you tell him how much it meant to you having someone like him at your side through everything.>You tell him that even you were scared a lot of the time, but knowing you had someone to share that fear with, gave you the strength to move forward.>finally you tell him, that maybe you weren't the best friend, and maybe you shouldn't be surprised he doesn't see you as a friend.>you tell him that if you got a second chance, you'd do things differently.>so please Racter, please wake up.I don't know man, I wanna be Racter's friend.
>>735062637Not to worry, my steam deck didn't turn off or anything, so the image is unharmed. Also, I spent a goof five minutes trying to verify my email address to make another post here, and the power came back, so I guess it's all good.Man, that explosion though. I was walking out in the snow when it happened, and it was like everything went from night to day (though the light itself was green, so a very green day), with this eerie low pitched hum, before all the lights around went out.I did not have a flashlight on me at the time, so sprinting my way home through the dark after seeing a bright green light vaguely in the direction of my house was a fun experience.Anywho, back to Racter.
>>735062846>I don't know man, I wanna be Racter's friend.I can relate.I mean, I feel a little more strongly than that, but you get the idea.I feel like my current Racter image is going to make you feel bad, and I'd like to apologize preemptively. Not nsfw or anything, he's just not gonna be having a great time.
>>735063095I will weather this storm. I will come out the other side stronger for it. More capable of Racter Friending.
>>735063163>Racter Friending.Well now you're making me want to draw him possessed by Friend, as opposed to the other things I'm drawing him being controlled by.
>>735063216I don't know what gods or devils I have to slay, I will save the Racter.
>>735063359That doesn't include me, does it?Because I am the one ostensibly doing this to him, by virtue of being the one drawing it.I like Racter too, I just like putting him in neat and potentially harmful scenarios.
>>735063450I will rip apart time and space for the bird. My commitment only grows with each post.
>>735035826Give them bigger tits, give them a bigger boob window. Thx
for some reason for the past 2 weeks I kept thinking there was a 6th member of the feisty five (not ceroba) and I thought the name was wrong on purpose because they weren't counting starlofeels kinda like I got mandela'd
>>735063554Then I'll simply put up new time and space to stop you from stopping me from doing things to the bird. You are hopeless to stop me.Also, say, what'd you think of the Racter animal orb I made?
>>735063715He's cool.
>>735064047Alright, that got me, good one.I'm glad you are enjoying the orb.
>>735064047Also, it does now occur to me that all but like, one of the sfw ideas I have written down for things to draw of Racter involve him either being in a bad situation, or experiencing some kind of bizarre suffering.Conversely, most of the nsfw ideas I have for him are actually fairly gentle, like the other image I made. This is probably indicative of something.
>>735064202>the image I'll be willing to click on will be the most painful onesA unique experience to be sure.
>>735039328I guess I should get used to seeing my stuff get posted from time to time. It's a weird but not unwelcome feeling.Glad to see anon that you like it so much.
>>735064469it's a welcome sight I hope you keep drawing
>>735064418I'll draw that one comfort idea eventually, I just have a few other things I want to get through first. As for nsfw stuff, I think I actually went for something fairly tame for his first (apparent) nsfw image, in comparison to people who want Racter to open boxes that mysteriously weigh exactly 40 pounds.
>>735064554>As for nsfw stuff, I think I actually went for something fairly tame for his first (apparent) nsfw imageoh, yeah it's not revolting or anything like that, but if I see an image link tagged as "this is Racter jacking off" I'm just not clicking it you know? It's a much less concerning image to me than the chujin one, which while I've managed to avoid seeing in it's entirety, his crying face haunts me.
>>735064607>I'm just not clicking it you know?Yeah, that's fair.Though technically it's the soul doing it, using his hand. So, there's an extra step here.>It's a much less concerning image to me than the chujin one, which while I've managed to avoid seeing in it's entirety, his crying face haunts me.It's still funny seeing people's reactions to that, I love it.If it's any consolation, the next image I do with Chujin is gonna have his snout taped shut while you didn't think I was actually going to say what I'll be doing to him, did you?, so at least he'll look less immediately distressed. That's marginally better, right?
>>735064738I will do my best to not think about your next chujin pic, though I wish you the best on it.
>>735064818This reminds me of a joke I made when working on my Zaer milking image, where NaranjaDev is saying he appreciates my fanart, meanwhile I'm busy making Zaer make the femur-breaker scream.Chujin won't be screaming in my next drawing of him though, cause he'll be gagged. He'd probably want to, but his desires are irrelevant to me.I have fun.
>>735064534I started working on a zartlet pic yesterday, to try and draw something from my story but it'll be a bit of a hurdle to finish and may not look that good.
>>735065006NTA, but your Quetzali pic looked pretty good, so I see no reason why this wouldn't.
>>735065006Nice! I'm looking forward to it. Even if it doesn't turn out how you want, it's all part of improving, and I want to see it regardless.
>>735065045>>735065075Thanks anons, I'll try my best.
walmart!
>>735065467I love them.
>>735065482Since the thread is about to end any fics for this idea?
>>735065642Like momlet in general, or are you meaning something more specific?
>>735065642What, fics of Martlet being Clover's mom?Pretty sure that's not exactly an obscure topic.
>>735065702>>735065703Yeah, momlet in general.
>>735065770Well to answer your question, a lot, yes. There are a lot of fics for that idea.Pretty much have been since the game came out, it's a pretty popular concept, if you can believe it.
I swear, Racter's beak continues to be weirdly difficult to get right.I'm trying to figure out how to draw him with his beak open as if he's screaming in pain, but I just can't get it right.
>>735065770I did >>735039505>>735039621>>735039767earlier in the thread, though it was somewhat buried under the shitposting, and I'm sorry to further shill my own stuff but https://archiveofourown org/works/79234336https://archiveofourown org/works/77850791/chapters/203964641 (I will be continuing this one soon "ish".It's not exactly "momlet" but there is "partners" which is being done by someone from here as well, which focuses on the connection between Martlet and Clover. It's really good and you should read it.https://archiveofourown org/works/57922366/chapters/147445426A lot of people really like Momlet, but it honestly feels like there's not as many fics as I expected going in.Usually it's an offhand mention instead of actually being a focus for the story, or the story focuses on Martlet, but not really the bond between the two.
>>735065858that one guy that did some studies on his face may help?
>>735066132Yeah, I've been studying those, but I'm not sure they work for what I'm going for. These are damn good though, love the one with Racter jumping out of surprise.Anyway, looks like I won't be finishing this in time for this thread, so it'll go in the /vrpg/ when I'm done.
Good threads this weekend guys, well done. Some new art, new stories, relatively few arguments, good stuff.
>>735066350it wasn't bad, had a bit of a rough spot but ultimately we discussed video games.
>>735066445Video games were indeed discussed, as has been our mission statement for the past 75 years.
>>735051602Hey wait a minute, what makes Zaer a fuck up exactly? He seems pretty content with his life.
Huh, only a little over 500 posts this time. Not as much steam on this one.
