I'm not sure if it's broken or just strong because there is a setup time, kind of similar to something like Voltaic
It is better than Voltaic however because it scales by itself in the background while you simply do shit you were going to do anyway, such as playing bloodletting or offering or inferno/crimson mantle
On my last run it was doing 58x22 damage against the act 3 bosses after just a few cycles through my deck, and the deck was kind of shitty and slow due to no offering/battle trance

Relics feel weaker. Xecnar says that the new relics are good, but in my experience they're not significant enough to be losing so much HP over. Like 9 AOE damage at the start or 6 damage to random enemy when you do X is nice, but it won't win you any boss fights and it's not something you can build your lategame plan around.
I feel in the current state of the game it's more valuable to save the HP and upgrade your best cards instead.

What do you guys think of this card? It's only +1/+1 unupgraded but it seemed to work pretty well as a scaling solution for a few of my runs when I had the chance to take multiple of them. I've been playing all the characters so I haven't gone past ascension 3 yet. Maybe it will be a horrible pick later. Seems better than footwork to me when upgraded.

He does shuffle some dazes in I guess but it really is pathetic compared to the other act 1 elites. Though it is worth noting he's kind of a counter to the ultra offense strategy that's the best way to kill the other elites, so I do think with a bit of tweaking he might skill have a place as an elite.

Musically speaking, STS2 is infinitely more interesting and more engaging. Love the Act 3 theme, sounds so good... and the variations are also super interesting musically. The first game had a somewhat bland orchestra-based OST, but in this one I really like some of the creative directions he took.

Void Form > Echo Form > Reaper Form > Snake Form > Demon Form
Void Form would be strong in any character but it's uniquely strong for Regent because of it's interaction with stars. Completely fixes his economy makes makes many, many of his cards much better
Echo Form is Echo Form. One card scaling solution. You all know how good it is.
Reaper Form effectively reads "cut the enemies health in half". That's actually a really strong effect in many decks and opens up a lot of avenues for Necros non-doom and non-etheral strategies to go over the top
Snake Form is stronger than it reads. 6 damage per card is a lot. It's competing with Silent's other combo pay off cards, but it is realistic to have a Silent deck that cycles and only has Snake Form as a pay off, and to win with it.
Demon Form still has all the same problems Demon Form always had. It simply scales too slow. Even without Limit Break and Spot Weakness, Ironclad has faster, more efficient way to scale strength. It will always be bad but many people are convinced it's gamebreaking. So it'll always stay this way, because it's funny

I still haven't lost a game with the silent.
Currently sitting a bit below 70%, only beat A10 with ironclad, the rest are on like ascension 8 or something.
This game is much more forgiving than 1, there are a lot more power spike opoortunities for the player, and the powerlevel ceiling required is way lower than A20H on its current state. And even if this changes with Act 4 and they introduce a ridiculous boss, the way to the top is also easier.
Comparatively speaking (because there are enemies that hit hard on turn 1 on sts2) there's nothing as fucking ballbusting as

>the salvers elite

No boss design punishes the player for doing anything, barely any greed checks, nothing punishes cardspam, etc. It's just easier.

Already beat all 5 characters I think necrobinder is the weakest gimmick with doom being poison but infinite worse since it only triggers AFTER the enemy has finished their turn rather than at the start like poison does.
I ended up completely ignoring doom and just creating a soul build and drew cards until the boss died

Yeah, sometimes a card game just clicks even if you have no experience. That's the point. Card games aren't a genre you get better at by playing them more. The guys who lose after a hundred hours are missing something important. The guys who win off the bat happened to understand what the game was about immediately. Necrobinder needs a nerf. All you need to go infinite and one turn any enemy is remove soul + borrowed time (as long as they're not multiphase). Add any flavor in between, do not pick cards after you have those 2.
It's boring how the optimal way to play her is chipping away by spamming infinite souls.

I see, kinda boring. I really liked Balatro's stakes because there were some things that enabled more synergies. I guess StS doesn't need that because it already has those things like eternal cards in the base game.

They are making relics less impactful because of multiplayer balance considerations.
Players can have duplicates of relics so they have to account for possible 4x 9 damage to all enemies at the start of a fight and shit
