I just finished The Sinking City, and now I'm pretty excited for the sequel

Didn't even know there was a sequel in the works. The game is pretty linear, right? Is the story good at least? I remember someone saying that is pretty miserable from beginning to the end.

The sequel seems to be a combat focused Resident Evil clone, and probably won't have a bunch of inhabitants to talk to like the first game. There's optional investigation elements, maybe like RE's puzzle solving with a cultist twist.

I hope that you'll still uncover weird cults and scientists and fishmen and things like that, even if the city is de-populated this time. I think the game will be better for taking the RE approach, but I hope you don't lose out on too much of the storytelling.

The first game is open world. I would say people tend to praise the atmosphere over the story. The game is definitely ambitious, with a big city to explore made by a small team. That does come at the cost of recycled enemies, mechanics and character models. And the finale is pretty lacking.

There's also choices and moral dilemmas in the game, but they don't affect you or the city directly. You'll probably just get a newspaper article detailing the consequences of your actions.

I fucking HATE modern marketing.

Mandalore made a video about it like a week ago
I know saying i'm excited for anything makes me seem like a shill, but I'd rather do that than make a bait thread like "Name a single flaw, you literally can't" and get 300+ replies

Post your steam stats for it, then, or a screenshot that you took yourself in-game. If I were to randomly make a thread for, say, Othercide (picking an indie/smaller game that I recently played), then I would present something - anything - that would make me at least SEEM like a real human being who played a game that was worth playing/talking about.

>I played a game.
>It was exciting.
>I am excited.
Is not an engaging start to a conversation so it shouldn't surprise you that a thread made like that would go unnoticed.

>I saw the review from [youtuber] and decided to give this a shot - did everyone else sleep on this? It's great, and [here's why]!
Would at least feel a bit more genuine.

Shit game, few good ideas, not going to take any risks and fund ukrainis.
>>735041164
Barely worth a play, only if you love detective mysteries and can handle the jank.

Just shows how far a little fresh air can go. The money guy was fun. Refuses to elaborate.

Is this monark or the trpg with alien girls omnicite?

You'll have to make do with a screenshot of my deleted torrent file then. I did almost every mission in the game except for some fetch quest stuff with no story and then uninstalled

My screenshot is, as I said, Othercide.
It is a so-so XCOM knockoff that I got for free during a /vg/ Christmas givaway. Hot girls doing excessive violence against plague doctors. If I were to pay for it I'd try to keep it below $5.

>>735043810
That's about as damning a critique of the game that you could possibly have given.
>I stole it, played it once and then uninstalled it.
Shit dude, the last time I torrented a game was Dead Space 3 and I still have the iso saved in case I get the itch to play it again someday (despite being really annoyed by it on the first playthrough).

ok I didn't ask for your life story

It's a strange self-report that you can confuse a 3-sentence summary of an indie video game with someone's life story.

It was interesting to watch Mandalore's video and see how much jankier and weird the Remastered version was. I played the original and while there was some jank, it was nowhere near as bad as what he experienced. Plus the updated graphics actually look worse and more muddied and saturated imho, seems like another case of a game's supposed best version being inferior.

That said, I love Frogslop games and will always buy them at massive discounts. I felt that Sinking City was one of their weaker titles though, better than Sherlock Holmes Awakened but inferior to most of their other games. They all play relatively the same. Like other Frogslop games I shall buy Sinking City 2 in a few years when it's $10 on sale, but I'd really much rather have another Sherlock game, maybe a continuation of Chapter 1 without his gay ass Tulpa.

I think Crimes and Punishment is an amazing game, and easily their best. It's a shame we didn't get sequels in that style. I'm not that into their new Sherlock Holmes, I feel like they're going for the BBC Sherlock tumblr crowd. Also, TSC and Chapter 1 are both very unfocused games. Maybe TSC2 will be better by being a lot more focused, or it could be a disaster because it's the first real action game they've made.

Agreed, though I enjoyed Devil's Daughter quite a bit as well. I know that one has a bit of a mixed opinion.
>I'm not that into their new Sherlock Holmes, I feel like they're going for the BBC Sherlock tumblr crowd
I didn't mind it in Chapter One because he was supposed to be young, but when that personality continued in Awakened it was annoying. Everything about Awakened kinda sucks.
>Maybe TSC2 will be better by being a lot more focused, or it could be a disaster because it's the first real action game they've made.
Leaning towards the latter. At best it'll be a shittier Evil Within, which I'm not too keen on. Who the fuck plays Frogslop for the action? Props for always trying to innovate a little but god damn stick to what you're good at.

Barely worth the time, yet alone money to pay. 4/10. Some decent ideas though.

more like The Stinking Shitty

I think it looks good in what little they've shown so far, but you never know if there are like 3 enemy types and completely unbalanced resource management

Wait, people actually gift here something? Always thought it's 3 women max? Horror trpg, eh?
30h, have you best it? Worth to replay, like ng+? Build variety? Itemization? Battle mechanics?

It does stink. Plenty of fish and horror fish.

It's sub 5 on psn. Jeanne is 10. Jeanne is like 20 years old. Omni barely 5 full years. Huh!
