>Play bethesda games>Don't even get the product you paid for>Bugged, unfinished, unoptimzed and all the worst you can think of>Still for some reason, make you hooked up >Mod them>Find like +100 mods which improve the game drastically>Have to do bazillion things to make them work and not crash on you>Still not even certain most will work because bethesda still manages to fuck up even the simplest of mods>Boot up the game>Crashes>Have to do all the shit from the start>Spend the entire day sorting through and fixing the load order >Game finally works>Play for like a quarter of the time it took you to mod them>Get bored>Quit >Literally worse than cocaine I miss the times when all you had to do to mod a game was to just put a fucking file in the direction of the games folders and it'd work
>download mod>see it has a dependency>go to download it>the author took it down due to a public mental breakdown Sigh.
>Download latest mod>Mod isn't up to date
>>735041801>half a year later>get interested again>the devs updated the game>75% of the mods update>25% get outdated and forgottenMOOJAAANNGGG!!
>play TES mostly vanilla with bugfixes or QOL changes (draw distance, skyui, etc)>don't have these problemsThousands of hours of fun and I'm still good. Relax OP.
>>735041801Been trying to get into modding f4 again (because its genuinely fun if you take it as a sandbox game) but every modding guide has either led me to a dead end or the mods not even working properly. I am using a pirated version of Fallout 4 so that might be the reason why it is the case.
>>735041801>I miss the times when all you had to do to mod a game was to just put a fucking file in the direction of the games folders and it'd workThat's still literally how it works with bethesda games but MO2 makes it easier to manage. It's no fault of the mods, as long as they weren't made by a retard, if you install a gorillion conflicting mods and the game shits itself, assuming you even got all the stability fixes in the first place. The absolute worst case is when retards use shit for retards like Wabbajack, install 900GB worth of mods, something inevitably breaks, they know nothing about how any of those mods work and then they try to troubleshoot that piece of shit.
>>735041801>I fucking hate BethesdaYou could have just stopped there.
>>735041801Why did you fall for the mods will fix it meme?It is such a tiny part of the fanbase it doesn't even qualify as niche.
>>735041801>I miss the times when all you had to do to mod a game was to just put a fucking file in the direction of the games folders and it'd workI remember being able to just edit the .ini of Command & Conquer Red Alert, where the user can edit infantrymen to fire tank shells
>>735042917For me's it's when the dependencies have dependencies and I forget what was the mod I wanted to use in the first place.
