>Metal cooling melted> destroyed the IC turning 12V into 5V> the main board got hit by 12V>burn Wifichip, power to USB, APU supply, SSD control chip,CPUMake sure you don’t overheat your PS5 unless you want a 550$ paperweight
overheat it? with what
>>735062295With all the games that... oh, right.
>sir please to be correctly the maintenance sir
>>735062295By putting it in a standing position, and play games on it for too long. Also, moving the console around too much. The board in the image is from a fat PS5 that the owner never opened to check inside.
'maintenance' is not a verb, and even if it had been I doubt any PS5 would be capable of 'maintenancing'. If they were, they would probably be called MaintenanceStations instead.
>>735062351Esl SEA pleas understand.Too lazy to fix my Grammar.
>>735062240Liquid metal is the perfect solution to self destruct devices after warranty period.
>>735062449Thank annon, I need to proofread my stuff sometime, if only I’m not lazy as fuck whenever I’m not at work or on PC.
>>735062240OP is absolutely distraught they won't be able to enjoy the ultimate PS5 experience
>>735062392It stays cooler in standing position tho
>>735064804Dunno, my country repairman said horizontally will reduce chance for liquid metal get into more dangerous zone.
>>735064804it doesn't get THAT hot
>>735062240Not a problem in Project Nortubel
PS5 should have thermal throttling. Did you leave it constantly running for weeks at a time?
amazing design choice
>>735062240if you are not a professional then don't even try opening a PS5. If only a bit of liquid metal spills to the mother board and it's already fucked. If there is still static it'll short components and if not clean well it'll start eating away even the board itself. At some point someone will need to opening it up to replace the liquid metal though because it oxidizes and won't transfer heat correctly to the heat sink, which causes overheating. Consoles turn off as soon as they overheat, so there is never any permanent damage but the liquid metal will still need to be replaced at some point. Some people tried using thermal paste but it doesn't, so don't even try it. It'll overheat quickly.
>>735067105This is from a technician opening a broken fat PS5 that hasn’t been opened before.Liquid got into the IC and that 12V fried everything.
>>735067530This shouldn't happen if you're opening it like a sane person. The black 'sponge' needs to be ripped off. If its on a level desk there is barely any risk.
>bought new laptop with a 5070 last year>intent on keeping it for a few years(my 1070 laptop lasted me literally 8 years)>realize it has liquid metal on both the CPU and GPUThis isn't gonna last more than 3 years is it?
>>735067810>ps5 working funny>Bring to Technician >liquid metal leaked and get into the ICIt happened before technician open it annon. Here another case but thankfully it saveable
>>735067898If you put it horizontal like a sane person, it will be fine, most likely.
>>735068352Jesus what the fuck did the person do with it, shake it around? I did tech repair for like 5 years and fixed a buncha Ps5, but it was pretty rare we'd get one that shorted itself out like that. It was always retards fucking up the HDMI
>the bulkiest, ugliest console that requires tiny acrylic stands to not tip over is poorly designedwow who could've guessed
>>735068494My guess is as good as your, maybe vertical stand + moving around. Also you can’t replace it with thermal paste, it will get overheat and auto shutdown. (Test with PS5 FIFA)
>>735068696>Also you can’t replace it with thermal paste, it will get overheat and auto shutdown. (Test with PS5 FIFA)yeah, but the liquid metal isn't terribly expensive and as long as you torqued shit down, the sponges would make a seal. Never had any come back for shorts.
lol i do not envy fightan fags for lugging these pieces of shit with their awful bulky form factor around.I say this as someone that used to carry a ps4pro around to weekly events and major tournaments. They legit have to hotswap consoles mid tournaments to prevent overheating.
>>735062240>Does your PS5 maintenance correctlysirs
>>735067105>Consoles turn off as soon as they overheat,PS5 will display a console is too hot message but stay on for some reason, then it thermal throttles, then it will just shut off.
>>735068352>I'm so fucked up
I 100%ed Nioh 2 on it recently and I don't see myself playing on it again until it is hacked.
Weird a thread like this got posted. My ps5 fan doesn't increase in speed at all starting last week. Just stays in the gentle slow rotation. I bought a new fan and swapped it out and it still spins very slow. Took the whole thing apart and cleaned it and the fan still spins slowly. Connector looks fine. I live in the fucking sticks so there's no trustworthy repair company's nearby at all.I'm sending it to Sony for repairs. I feel jewed.
>>735062240snoys told me liquid metal was the future as was the ps5's patented ssd technology
