For the longest time they outsourced DK and didn't really care to integrate what Rare had established into their own stuff. It was always a little trivia thing they'd put in descriptions and the like because, for all intents and purposes, DKC had nothing to do with the original arcade games. Just about the only time they intersected was the Mario vs. DK games, which featured modern DK as the arcade equivalent. Then again, Nintendo spin-offs love reusing models, so that could have been a "Baby Bowser now uses Bowser Jr.'s model" situation like modern Yoshi games.

>>735070438Just start with the DKC games on SNES and Returns and Tropical Freeze on Switch. Don't bother with 64, but do bother with Bananza. From there you can also try Jungle Beat which is pretty underrated.DK94 is a sort of remake of the arcade original, it's really good but not a real DK game.
That's great, looks more in line with other Nintendo franchises. The background art needs to be made brighter and more cartoony though.
