Is this thing actually good outside of PvP? Compared to my blood uchigatana it has split damage and lower bleed buildup, also I have bloody slash on my uchigatana which does a ton of damage and it really good at dealing with enemies that are immune to hemorrhage. The AoW on Rivers of Blood is pretty good, but it takes a ton of FP, especially compared to bloody slash.

This sword looks like the kind of shit you see in Adventure Quest
>>

A lot of the weapons in the game are fugly.
>>
>>735066230
it's a nortubel tier sword
>>
That thing was only good before they nerfed it like 3 times in a row. Nowadays it's a noob trap that plaily doesn't work for pvp.
>>
The ash is basically a free bleed proc, bloody slash for sure is more FP efficient but you need to get it off 3 or 4 times for a bleed effect, one full corpse piler combo will proc most bosses
>>
>>735066640
I don't know what that means.

I'll try it out for a while, I'm not using somber stones otherwise. It might also be that my arcane is only at 25. It seems to have better arcane scaling so maybe it shines at higher levels.

rivers of bloods post-1.13 corpse pilers multihit stance scalar attenuates to 0.65x failing the 133 breakpoint versus bullgoat 71poise equilibria despite hyperarmor startup its 27f recovery means punishing r1 rollcatches from dual 40 dex bandits curved swords worsened by netcode phantom desync arcane bleed efficiency craters below 18 against 60 vig mottled necklace negating exultation procs inferior to cold nagakiba r2 chains or antspur rot pokes in elite arena metas a seppuku crutch for sub1200ms plebs LOL

KILL YOURSELF
>>
>>735066230
It was great in PVE for it's ease of use and absurd Bleed build up (which is the actual overpowered part), not necessarily because the weapon itself is overpowered or anything.

>>735066276
That's a good thing.
>>
>>735066230
Its not good for pvp either. What makes a weapon good is if it works against high skill players.
>>
Fromsoft literally can't do shit anymore all the good stuff was stolen from Japan studio, like everything, everything

Most of the hype for RoB was before it got nerfed a couple times, though it is still a good weapon. If you're running a bleed build I think dual curved swords are best for pve.
>>
>>735068441
I was thinking about dual wielding curved swords because I want to try out power stancing and the moveset for power stanced katanas is kinda weird to me.
>>
i used it on malenia and beat her quickly, strong cheese
>>

The dual curved sword jump and run attacks are very good for bleed and multi-hit builds. If setup right you can kill a lor of bosses/enemies in seconds.
>>
>>735068576
How is it against normal mobs? The lack of reach seems like an issue.
>>
>>735068591
One handed curved swords handle normal mobs easily enough in most cases, dual wield attacks will one-shot in a lot of cases but are slightly slower. If you're running an arcane setup with seppuku vs bleedable mobs you will kill them very fast. and without that using an occult weapon still performs very well. In pretty much every souls game except maybe 2, curved swords are pretty good at clearing out normal mobs.
