Apparently they're making a sequel.
Disliked the 3d/it not looking like the manga when I was young.

No such thing. There's "Can I play, Daddy?"-

I watched it not too long ago. It's really dense, something's constantly happening. Probably because they stuffed three Tintin comic books' worth of events into a single movie. But despite being in a constant rush, it's still paced evenly. It's a really fun and engrossing watch despite the 3D giving off some uncanny valley. Instantly one of my favourite animated films.

Apparently the movie took like 30 years to happen in the first place, and the sequel is also in a similar limbo of "we'll definitely make it, but we don't know when we'll get to it".

I saw this film at the cinema with my dad, we both absolutely loved it since we're both Tintin diehards, we're just sad that the sequel has taken so fucking long. He's in his sixties now.

Was thinking about this movie and its perpetual development hell just the other day. It was a GREAT movie. No I did not read the comics I'm not European so I don't care about whatever they changed

I liked the cartoon film where they go to the inca temple and try to trick the priest with calling the time of a solar eclipse
I read the Comic to it and liked it it reminds me a bit of Asterix
>>
>>735077756
All of the changes were just combining the plots of several books to make it a more exciting classic Spielberg action adventure movie.
Herge scholars hate it in the same way Tolkien scholars hate the Jackson LOTR movies, but everyone else knows they're stuck-up academic pricks and that the movie, judging it by itself, is a wonderful homage to Tintin and his legacy.

what is this retarded rule in chess about being able to have multiple queens?
Why would you ever turn the pawn into a bishop or rook?
>>
>>735072264
I’ve read about 1/3 of all Tintin comics and, honestly, the movie is better. I do not usually say that. I imagine the cartoon is better than the comics.

Oh, yeah, Tintin was very popular in the States when I was growing up in the 2000s. Same audience that grew up with infinite Garfield strips. You might encounter one kid who was a big enough fan to collect the books and the DVDs, but I did only ever meet one.
>>
>>735079070
I didn't even know it had a cartoon.
>>
>>735076038
I liked the PS3 one as a kid, but only for the swordfighting minigame with a move. Even back then I'm pretty sure I only played it because I went through every other Move melee game I owned and I highly doubt it would hold up if I played it today

For convenience sake most IRL chess matches you can only turn the pawn into a piece you already lost and is available
Not sure about (((chess tournaments))) but online clients don't have this restriction, so your options are Queen and that 1/1000 matches where you need another Knight

Not really, that's just hoe you play it.

that's official rules.
It's retarded because from the definitions side of things pieces aren't defeated, but captured so it would make sense that you can only free captured pieces and this used to be a thing Germany for the longest time until international standard were created.
The whole tranny joke was always based on low iq understanding of the game.

It was actually based on the retarded change to change ferz to queen for DEI points
