~100-200k 40 and 50 years olds live alternative lives online and hold the game hostage as it's very niche due to its complexity. If they leave because they get upset over their 2 decades of work being lost if the game seeks to rearrange its systems and gameplay in search of new audiences, the game dies, and they know it just as good as the devs know it. The studio got bought out by some koreans a few years ago. It's complicated.

The character models should have been more futuristic and dystopian, either biomachines or AI and other stuff like that, instead of Johns and Jane Does in suits
