>removes all the fun from the first game
Reason?
>>
Because it's a sequel to vanilla DD1, not Dark Arisen. Which Itsuno did not direct
>>
Is this the biggest disappointment in video game history?
>>
Testing how far the RE Engine could go, which is basically nowhere once it goes open world.
>>
Fun is for chuds.

>biggest disappointment in video game history?
Cyberpunk comes to mind, maybe Anthem too, however CP still sold incredibly well
>>
>>735075424
Concord hugely disappointed investors and stakeholders
>>
There were plenty of fun to be had, at least for the first playthrough, unless the only thing you wanted was to grind for useless gear which seems to be the only thing Dark Arisen niggers care about.
Of course it could've been a lot better, more variety, not rushed out etc etc and everything else that's been said a million times already.

Best 2h warrior gameplay in video game history
>>
>>735075724
Grinding for good gear in the everfall was a thing in DD1 too

Dd2 got raped to mhwilds could run
Imagine if they treated dd2 like mh where we got title updates and a big expansion
>>
>>735075724
Yes. They want that proto-gacha RNG grind bullshit. Also look at Nioh-niggers and how devastated they were when WoLong and RoR distanced themselves from autismaxxing despite keeping the affix system, albeit simplified.
>>
>>735075803
>so mhwilds could run
But it didn't either
>>
>>735075331
I found it more enjoyable than the first game, but I was disappointed to find out just how small and boring the open world was. Also, no marriage? Lame.
>>
>>735075845
Wilds got delayed because they had the issues with performance. They had to force DD2 release earlier for the quarter where MH would have released.
>>
>>735075331
Investors and probably spite. Imagine you get to make your sequel and marketing comes behind and turns half the NPCs black, removes short person sliders, dumps a plethora of paid DLC and says your game will be the fall guy so the MH team can get another year to outsource Milds to Poopland and Bug nation

the lead dev got butt hurt everyone was shitting on DD for being a goofy, clunky game, underbaked game. So much that he ignored the actual dedicated fanbase who liked the game for that exact reason. DD1 is a giant meme factory with one of the best combat systems in any ARPG, but they decided they'd rather focus on the mediocre story potential, graphics, and ReAliSm, so now my strider can't just cancel any stagger animation, with a skill and ust immediately stand back up. Now I have to stand there and let goblins stunlock me. this is "fun" gameplay to them
>>735075424
it was for me. They literally could have just down the Demon Souls thing of just updating the graphics and nothing else, to the point where even bugs from the old game is in the new one, but noooo. my expectations were low but holy shit dude
>>
I was dissapointed, but it was also the best game I've played in years, so that kinda got me even more miffed about everything in general at the time.

Was there even a single "hot" armour piece in the entire game except that boring corset? I remember there being fucking ZERO good outfits for pawns, in a game where everyone used to call Fashions Dogma. Also lets not forget they removed the "clothing" armour slots too.
>>
>>735076315
It's a great standalone game, just a shit sequel. I think that's why everyone was so upset about it
>>
>>735076051
>Gets delayed for performance issues
>Still manages to release with performance issues

Clearly that didn't help as much as advertised.
>>
>>735076443
They were hotfixing it constantly after release, they probably had the issue for years during development and just kept going. Reminds me of FF15 too where the engine just couldn't manage it.
>>
>>735076329
>were there any hot armor pieces (it has to be an obscure one not the one everyone knows)
I don’t fucking remember dude the corset eclipsed everything
>>
>>735075424
Mine was Other M

Perhaps it's just me, but using an engine that was never designed with large, open maps as the foundation for your large, open world game was not a great idea. Which gets doubly ironic when Rise used that very engine and ran totally fine. Well, mostly fine. The Switch still occasionally chugged in Rampages, but mercifully they dumped those and switched to the affliction thing instead.
>>
>>735075331
>game mindbroke /v/ so bad they created a whole meme around seething that some people genuinely enjoy the game
>>
>>735076595
>the corset eclipsed everything
But it looked the same on every pawn, it was boring. I preferred the old bikini armors.
>>
>>735076712
>Rise used that very engine and ran totally fine
Rise graphics were basically generations behind, it was designed for a portable game akin to the older MH games. That's why it ran fine.
>>
i've played DDDA on ps3 and ps4 and i never knew what to do beyond spamming the same skills and healing items
is there more to the game or what

It was fun for one run. Then there is no reason to play NG+.
