Is gaming a legitimate threat to the well-being of society?>people who did drugs and had sex>normal lives with a career and a family>people who avoided such things to play video games>fucked up for life, destined to die alone while leeching off welfare
Internet is more of a problem. Tuns boys into slobs, incels, and trannies.
Video game addiction is still not taken seriously due to boomers assuming that anyone claiming to be more motivated by a game than making money is simply lazy. The thought behind helping them is to just whip them into shape and force them into work they don't want to perform, like China. The problem is that video games string you along with rewards and things reacting the way you expect but real life is often unrewarding and things can go wrong in unforeseen ways despite doing your best; it's not laziness, it's apathy towards life.
>>735083670This, honestly, although some people are better off with video games with other things. There's a guy in our high school group of friends who took *eight years* to get a bachelor's degree in computer science at a college he paid to dorm at strictly because he was a lazy fuck who skipped class to play World of Warcraft. He has zero experience, a low-tier degree, and still plays WoW like it's his full time job while he's drowning in student debt with no source of income. He'll probably be doing that for the rest of his life until he doesn't have a roof over his head and/or a WoW membership because he doesn't see anything wrong enough with his life to do anything. He has his digital opium, he doesn't need anything else.
>>735083220>videogame addiction is badSays some retetard while spending every free moment doomscrolling social media.Media/entertainment addiction is sort of real, but as long as the internet (a virtually unlimited source of entertainment) exists then the problem really isnt going to go away. But never ever ever listen to hypocrits, social media "addicts" are no better than gaming "addicts" if we go for the drug comparison then its like meth addicts and coke bros arguing that one should be illegal and the other fully legal
>>735083370Internet was just peachy up until smartphones and social media. After that it was tolerable, right up until the 2016 election. After that the internet became unsalvageable. The pandemic was just salting the earth. Forcing everyone into the cesspool the internet became just fucked everything else up.
>>735083220>avoided sex to play video gamesIts not our fault women get the ick from gamers and get wet for sportsball players and criminals. Getting laid when you aren't a normalfaggot means living a double life, it means living a lie, it means you LARP.
