I really did enjoy the contests and wish they had made a spinoff game with its own dedicated contest meta. Even Pokemon Ranger was it's own spinoff so why did contests get shafted? Can't remember what i didn't like about gen 4 contests compared to gen 3 since it's been so long.

Time to enlighten you.

>poffin making gets very poor results unless you have irl friends
>simply buying the poffins in platinum is the better option
>the decor part of the contest involves seeing the theme, shutting the DS, and then looking up which pieces of fluff or feathers fit the theme
>you have 60 seconds to place 20 accessories on Master Rank, impossible to really do anything but pile everything on blindly like picrel
>the dance segment is more or less just a 2 minute waste of time
>the appeals bit is dumbed down significantly from gen 3 due to far less move combinations and no jamming to take away appeal from others
>3 judges aspect adds absolutely nothing to the contests at all

It's a perfect example of making something worse by adding more to it. ~~But i know this thread only exists for people to post pokegirls so why did i even type this out?~~

Catching a Feebas in Emerald and shoving poffins down its throat to evolve into Milotic was very fun though. Evolutions tied to a regional gimmick/mode is cool when done right
