>get popular streamer to show your indie game>sales skyrocketIts that easy?
Reccomend me a good tower defense game /v/
>>735090635>Dev is now known as the TowerTD guy and everything else he makes will not live up to his code monkey gameat least the money is good now
>>735090635you know what? good for him
B-But you guys told me quality is the only thing that matters for sales...
>>735090857Riftbreakers is going to be a king-size title.
>>735090635Yeah, it's the same for music, marketing is the key, but only works if your productâ„¢ is actually good. If you don't want to or have the money for it the easiest route to take is the mocked by tards exposure route. I've done it myself and went from 500 monthly listeners to hundreds of thousands for severeal years after for that track just by getting featured on a big channel in the genre.
>>735091571musician anon here, i've got something pretty decent in the works right now i want to properly market. what's the best way to go about marketing it anon??
>>735090857there are none
>>735092435ai generate a bunch of shit, throw it in the algo void and pray
>>735090635>have interesting ideas for a game>there's a possibility that I could develop it, I'm learning what's necessary >so autistic that streamers won't play it>best chance is that one pseud that makes +40 minutes videos covers it>or even one of those /v/astards that claim that they never posted on 4chanI will probably fail, less than 100 reviews
>>735090857elemental td in warcraft 3
Ackhyally the reason [popular streamer] showed it in the first place is because a clip of the dev reacting to the original 30k went omega viral and clips/news of it got millions of views in many different countries. He's going to get less than half of that money because of steam cut and taxes btw.
Valve takes most of that as their revenue, valve are the slumlord rent seekers of the Internet
>>735094204just make it meme looking https://store.steampowered.com/app/3495730/Lucid_Blocks/
>>735090635Gawr Gura first stream was a random rythm indie game and it was at 18 steam review even after, it's pure gamble
>>735094631Who are they trying to kid with this graph? Their shareholders?>pie graph just random sizes for fun>bar graph the same sizes
>>735090857Gemcraft. Cursed Treasure 1.
>>735090857The TD minigame inside the ps3 game 3D dot hero
Why's it still called tangy if he swapped the tangerines out for lolis?
>>735090857Emberward just got an update. It's great if you're into crusting mazes and light Roguelite elements.
>>735092435Look up the big channels in your genre, and find out and write them an e-mail with a private soundcloud link and a link to wav file, do this months before the release date since they're spammed and have to sift through a lot of shit. Don't send to 50 channels at once, and be polite in the e-mail and make it known that you're subbed to their channel or at least that you know what it is about. If you're at a professional level soundwise or if the track is great even if mixed liked shit, it will get picked up. I would suggest doing this e-mailing at least 3 months before you're release date.
>>735090635so by pure luck the dev who risked everything made it out because of streamers?so if he didn't get that coverage, he would have been fucked after wasting years of his life on this and refusing to get a job?
>>735090635>>735096658>easyEasy it is not, but it's how it works. When you make an indie game, you either pay off streamers and youtubers handsomely to give you the coverage you need so the (((word of mouth))) meme picks up or you're banking on pure luck.
>>735090635Nobody will care in a month. Of course, the money is nice but artists don't solely care about money.
>>735096658before that a few clips of the dev reacting to making his first $30k after the game release were trending
>>735096042Thanks anon, I think I've got something at a professional level. At least that's what I've been told to who I've shown it to. I'll give this a try and hopefully it can go somewhere. Thanks again, anon
>>735091368Your game has to be high quality, but it doesn't matter shit if no one knows about it
>>735091368>stutteringyou need multiple things you disingenuous faggot
>>735096658>stressed the past 6 months thinking he'd have to find a jobOh noooo he might have had to work like everyone else, boo hoooo
>>735090857Boring answer but BTD5/BTD6
>Market your game>game gets popularWow who would have thought!>>735090857Very biased towards hybrids like orcs must die, xmorph defense, burggeist and sanctum.
>>735090857Dungeon Defenders (original)Bloons 1 - 4, 5/6 only if a hardcore fanPlants versus ZombiesSanctum 2 skip 1Orcs must die 1/2 unknown if 3 is good.
>>735091368A game can't be found if you don't advertise it. Warframe is one of the most popular games on steam and DE said it nearly died before Total Biscuit covered it on his channel.
>>735090857Toy Soldiers 1 + Cold War
>>735090635they should just make it illegal to earn money through streaming or youtube, nothing of value would be lost.
