This is the first investment by the Japanese giant in a Brazilian company. The decision was driven by Spawnd, a technology developed by Nuuvem that allows users to test games directly in the browser, without downloads or installations.

“Latin America is a strategic region, full of passionate gamers with a strong connection to Japanese culture,” said Hideaki Uehara, General Manager of the Investment and Business Development Department at Square Enix.

Uehara also commented that this first investment in Brazil reflects confidence in Nuuvem and in the potential of Spawnd.
