Was it really that bad conpared to the Switch?
>>735095425No the people weren't as dumb as now and Nintendo wasn't as much of a cultPeople are buying the switch for simple reasons>its nintendo>its portable>i love botw and pokemon>i love mario>its nintendo>paul logan pokemon card>i love nintendoGo ask people why they are buying it they won't have any idea
>>735095425It had soul.
Not at all. Nintendo consoles feel like a premium experience compared to any other method of gaming. All of their consoles have been great.
>>735095425Yeah only one person could have the tablet so everyone else was stuck with wiimotes. The second screen format was not as useful as the DS/3DS where you could easily glance between the two and basically amounted to a menu/status screen. Some games just flat out didn't use it at all and had a tablet mode option.Said tablet being a controller inseparable from the console instead of the console was dumb but considering they were selling the 3ds it is understandable but unfortunate. The switch was the natural evolution of the wiiu and just made sense.
735095690>immediate snoy melt down and excuseslmao>>735095425It was a decent console minus some long breaks between games. 3d world, mon hun 3ult, bayo1+2, wonderful101, yoshi wooly world, smash4, splatoon, xenoblade x, dk tropical freeze, etc.The games were just slow to release, plus its early marketing was quite bad. Which lead into Nintendo losing faith into it and down porting games to the 3ds. If smash, yoshi, hyrule wrriors, etc stayed wiiu exclusive the console could have hot up to 20 or even 25mil and get a modest turn around.
>>735095425It was much better. The gamepad is my favorite gimmick and favorite controller. Its a shame few devs took advantage of its potential. Botw and bizarrely totk more so would have been better games as wii u exclusives
i bought an oled switch for totk, and never finished it. i hooked my wiiu back up to keep playing botw
>>735095425Games wise? Yes, constant droughts Hardware wise? No, it had soulI still play mine regularly with CFW
>>735095425The difference in success between WiiU and Switch is the most profound tell in recent years that marketing is what moves products.
>>735097338No, its games. Wii U had almost no games.
>>735098672This. What it did have amounted to C-tier filler titles at best.
>>735098672WiiU had more games than PS4 in the same timeframe. Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Super Mario 3D World, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. The actual problem with WiiU was that no one knew what it even was or what it did. Nintendo's marketing was legendarily bad.
