>Game's do not age, EVER!>Well, you had to be there in 1996 to fully get the same experience I had of ocarina of time. In 2026 you can never consider yourself a real fan of the game and I'll call you a zoomer.
i call it you being an obsessed retard
>>735097531you're underestimating the number of poor fags who have 1080ti or older GPU, OP - they are like 80% of the PC gamers
>>735097531i see it differently than that, good games are always good and bad games are always bad however has time progresses the capacity that a game can be good increases over time.number reviews were always dumb and biased though, that is the only way you could see a game aging as the maximum has increased but it is still on the same scale.take Ocarina of Time for example, i wouldn't say no to playing through the game again, a 10/10 when the game came out but by modern standards it would likely be criticized for being too short and linear and be docked down to a 7-9 range.another way to look at it:OOT was a 10/10 when it released by most reviewsElden Ring was 10/10 by most reviews as wellcompare both are they really the same? ER would be a 15+ by yesteryear standards but it is still a 10 point scale so it it is a 10/10 and not 15/10
>>735097531You will never be a millenial, zoomer.Just own up to it. Whether you enjoy new things or old things just enjoy them and stop trying to seek approval.
>You will never be a millenial, zoomer.
>>735097531When a paradigm shifts as much as it did for video games in the 90s you simply just had to be there.
>>735099994then the games have aged
>>735097531Games don't age.The full experience of engaging with them does.People who tell you you can't "really" enjoy a game because you didn't experience it in its own era are being faggots.
>>735097531remember ocarina of timeit was a good game!
>>735097848>poor fags who have 1080tistill rocking my 1080, not a poorfag simply don't want to further enrich shitty companies who release shitty hardware so I can play shitty slop softwareI'd rather have a pc with win98 than buy a top of the line gpu and I have money for multiple of those
>>735100324>Frame of reference doesnt exist and is not relevant to enjoyment of anything ever
most kids grew up on shitty 2D ipad/phone games then went to 3D AAA games yet millennials act like going from the snes to n64 was this huge jump completely unique to millennials/genx and no one else can heckin understand them
>>735100082Indeed they have gotten better with time. Good point.
I mean it's true, it doesn't invalidate your experience or whatever, but it will be a different experience because the zeitgeist surrounding the game isn't there, you can watch a movie from the 50's but you won't have the same experience as the people who saw it in theaters back in the day, you may still relate to the archetypical themes the movie portrays but you're basically watching it from another dimension, that's just the sad reality of all media
