I liked the soundtrack. And the gunplay was more satisfying than in quake 1.Setting was kind of bland and I think that's also what lead to bland level design.

It's an actual game unlike Quake 1 which is more of a tech demo than a proper game
I've always preferred more than Quake 3in Quake 3 they made all the main weapons too strongthe rockets are faster and so is the shooting rate, which made it a very spammy and skill-less weaponthe LG is also way easier than the Chaingunfor no reason at all they removed double-jumping which was a fun thing to do in Quake 2weapon control became non-existent too since the weapons respawn in 5s instead of 30s
nightdive sucks but they made it actually fun
