I am not even baiting when I say this. This game killed the fucking Resident Evil series. It, and to a similar extent CV and RE0, through sheer virtue of being horribly designed games, brought about RE4 and all the action slop that followed. RE1, RE2, and RE3 are all better, tighter, smoother, better designed games than DEmake, Code Shittica, and 0. DEmake is actually one of the most overrated games of all time if you think about it.
>>735100379Name one thing you like better in OG, and one thing you like better in Remake. Make it about facts, not feelings, so we can follow along.
>>735100723>one thing I like better in the OGThe not fucked and padded progression >one thing I like better in the demakeJill's army outfit makes my peepee very happy
>>735100379You don't get it, the constraits were the reason you got to enjoy your game. It was holding back the retardation. You're never getting anything like it again because no tech limitation is tard wrangling the devs no more.
>>735100723The music in the original is much better and better used.I really like the crunchy Chimeras in the remake. It's fun to blow them 20 feet back in a cloud of maggots and bug parts with the shotgun.
And this guy and his games saved the fucking series
>>735100807Kek!
>>735100723For starters
0 is the only bad resident evil game in the tank control era. You're fighting against the mechanics to have fun the whole time, and the regular difficulty on a first playthrough is insane, probably the only RE that legitimately starves you of ammo. beating the last boss with a knife was super obnoxious.
>>735101286Fag
>>735101634the only bad thing about it is backtracking for the grappling hook
>>735100379That's re4 bait-sama. RE1R and RE4 were in development at the same time and had different teams. The thing that Killed resident evil was money. Re4 sold well and capcom is greedy so that was the direction the series took.Capcom drones can rest their keyboards I don't care what you say.
>>735100379I am not even baiting when I say this. The RE remake is the only good remake and arguably the only necessary game remake ever made. It takes everything the original did well and elevates it. It's what Capcom would've made the original, had the technology existed at the time. They've even said on record that the purpose of it was to get closer to the original vision the team had.
>>735100379That game cover is the best one of the entire series.
>>735101390>2 slightly different flavors of Barry dying and one where he livesAmazing
>>735100379I still can't believe this is a real cover art for a video game. It's just so mind bogglingly terrible. The European cover has pretty much nothing in it, yet conveys so much of the game's essence. Are Americans really so stupid that the cover arts in the USA couldn't have any subtlety or ambiguity?
>>735105326>>2 slightly different flavors of fighting nemesis or not fighting nemesisSee I can play that game too.
>>735101390I'd say this really amounts to a nothing burger. Not because of the mechanics, but because it literally just results in either Barry surviving (canon) or him dying (non-canon). None of the circumstances surrounding his survival are ever referenced again making it a non-sequitur. It literally means nothing as the story effectively remains exactly the same as it was.
>>735100379I agree that 0 and Code Veronica are horribly designed games. I do not agree that REmake is. It is as good as 1, 2, and 3.
>>735100843How is remake padded? Its as long as the original. Even has a 3 hour clear unlockable.
>>735100723>>735100723I like this idea. I love REmake but I think both games are good, and anybody who thinks there's enough disparity between them for the remake to "ruin" anything or be outright bad by comparison is fishing for contrarian validation. >what I like better about the OGNeptunes sharing an open space in an area you might traverse more than once instead of appearing once in a place where you'll B-line with maybe a few zigs and zags then be done with them. The lab puzzle, the cipher with the Garden of Eden imagery, is way better than the X-rays. Hunters being more dangerous. >better about REmakeDogs being more than pistol fodder and necessitating more fight-or-flight. How the crimson heads play into strategizing ammo consumption. Sound design is spectacular. Real survivor and invisible enemy are both great challenge modes where the former confronts you with reevaluating how you load out in a game you probably came to know like the back of your hand prior to taking it on, and invisible enemy challenges just how well you know it. >>735100379Not just putting REmake/0 and CV on PS2 from the outset (I know it got a port later) is probably what killed old RE formula tbqhwyf. Sales were tapering off but there were other, obvious circumstances contributing to that aside from however people judged the quality of the games themselves.
>>735106095So expanded on it, don't deflate it. I say this as a neutral party who hasn't played either one.
>>735109875Uh huh, ""expanded""
