>Skyrim modders are doing their best to integrate ai in games to simulate roleplay and gameplay scenarios
>Meanwhile Nvidia, biggest company in the world, wants to slopify every single visual
What causes this? Is it out of touch boomers, people from the indian subcontinent or something else?

>>
why is this a thread
>>
>>735105268
Because I wanted to make a thread about the skyrim ai mod compared to how companies are actually trying to use ai
>>
>>735105189
>doing their best

so long as it takes the AI 5-10 seconds to respond to a query it's never gonna work in real time conversations
>>
>>735106007
>pause the game until it processes the request
problem solved
>>
>>735106007
Sure, its slower than real time, but its something. One has to assume it will get faster as time goes on
>>
>>735106492

> stock market number must go up
>>
>>735106492
just tell the player the game is "thinking", they won't know the difference
>>
>>735106740

if it ran the AI locally on your 5xxx card it probably could but then their AI data centers wouldn't be useful
>>
>>735106956
>f it ran the AI locally on your 5xxx card it probably could
Running such mods locally is fucking hard on the hardware, you get a much faster response throwing 2 dollars at openrouter from my experience

That said I don't have a top of the line 5090 card so maybe I'm wrong
>>
>>735105189
>noticably delayed responses
>unnatural cadence
>every character has the same speech patterns
Vanilla dialogue is more immersive, even if you take the notoriously bad voice acting into account
>>
>>735107380
Love the female nord voice.
>>
>>735107380
>Vanilla dialogue is more immersive
Obviously the trade off is that you are trading quality for variety
What AI allows you to do is to remove the railroad from roleplay that is a necessary evil of prewritten dialogue
It can never match real dialogue and won't for at least a decade or more
>>
>>735107720
>trading a single good meal for a wide variety of cow droppings
Sure seems great.
>>
Rimworld has an AIslop dialogue mod and it's actually really good.
>>
>>735107885
>food analogy
>implying skyrim dialogue was ever good
>>
>>735107981
Rimtalk? Fucking love that mod. Trying to find out how to attach notes to a pawn that can be referenced by anyone else but having no luck. I know there’s a sub mod that advertises exactly that but it’s made by a Chinaman and utterly incomprehensible
>>
>>735105189
>hey little dude
>WOOF
kek
>>
>>735105189
>same quippy millenial writing tier response for every prompt
I fucking hate this safe toothless feeling of modern commercial AIs so fucking much
>>
>>735107885
An exaggerated analogy
To keep it food related it's more like getting 3 mcdonalds cheesburgers instead of a single very tasty ones.

It can be fun for a lot of playtroughs
>>
>>735108252
You know those amazon novels nobody buys? Those endless fanfics about anime online?
They have been force fed en masse to claude and chatgpt and this is the result
>>
>>735108098
Just download the submod, it does exactly what you need it to do.
