>>735108829The only time I saw this board positive was when the occasional cartoon discussion pops up. They're genuinely fun.
I've recently started emulating N64 games, Gopher64 seems pretty dang good. I'm enjoying playing Ocarina of Time again, before work today I figured I'd get through the intro of Majora's Mask so I can just jump straight into it when I'm done with OoT but the game froze right when the clock tower opened and you can't save before you go back in time.

I'm playing MGSV now. Fucking around in the map has ran its course, I'm a bit tired of it now, and the story is not captivating anymore, even though I also hate this dude Cypher.
the board is negative but I just don't care about what others sayI enjoy videogames, I have friendsI'm currently studying IT (hardware, databases, networks, and other sysadmin stuff) so I don't feel bad about playing too muchI'm happy >games we likeI'm 30+ so I really like old gamesI'll never run out of games to play

For whatever reason I could never get into Owlcat's Pathfinder RPGs, but I gave Rogue Trader a try and I haven't lost myself in a CRPG like this since Planescape Torment 15 years ago. 120 hours in a month is something I haven't reached in a game in who knows how long

LEGO Voyagers was a surprisingly good take on the It Takes Two formula, with no words, beautiful graphics and gave me a lot of, well, LEGO feeling. Even if it was short, 90% of it was pure joy and playing it with my kid was an amazing experience. Trackmania 2020 is still geting better and better every year and it's awesome. I can still squeeze some fun out of War Thunder when I install it every few months. Nailing someone with a one shot and feeling like I'm the bullshit instead of getting killed by the bullshit gives me adrenaline that's second to none.

You know who's games I love that rarely get threads that last more than 50 posts? Luv-de-Lic games (and all their derivatives). One of the Luv-de-Lic ex-devs recently released what is his last game, and in spite of it being frustrating a lot of the time time I thoroughly enjoyed nearly every minute. Stray Children is great.
Play his game.

I've been playing noita again and I'm not sure if it's a good game or not. It certainly doesn't respect the player's time and I feel a lot of the praise it gets is the same shitty mentality that souls players have where hard = goodThe meat of the game is good, the wand finding and customizing and perks resulting in a fun and unique build. When you can actually survive long enough for that to happen, which is almost never. The mod that gives you the perk to customize your wands whenever you want is such an objective improvement to the game it makes you wonder what the dev was thinkingI like hard games. I 100% a lot of games that people like to call hard but Noita isn't an enjoyable experience and I'm not going to cope my way into deciding that it's my fault
I have been replaying Battle Network 3. Aside from the bactracking, it's great. This time I'm playing the White version, and the different chip codes do make the game feel more different than I expected.
>>735119072I refunded Noita my first time trying it out and them put hundreds of hours into it the second time through. First victory was at the 30 hour mark, maybe 60, without the edit wands everywhere mod. If you don't like it, you don't like it. But once you know enough of the game and mechanics you can practically just give yourself the edit wands anywhere perk through in-game means, the means are just randomized by nature of the rougelike experience. I will also say some outside reading on the wikis is necessary.
>>735108829I’ve been replaying the Mass Effect trilogy. Currently on ME2 and it’s still my favorite of the three, with ME1 close behind.>>735110626Me too. When are they supposed to let people know whether they got into the beta or not?
>>735108829I'm playing Sekiro again, and realizing I like it a lot. I had mixed feelings when I first played it. For whatever reason getting into Mamoru Oshii movies made it click for me.

>>735113172I find it funny that in the credits "Dess Holiday" appears. I know it's just a backer-submitted name, but I'd have a mighty chortle if Toby actually canonized Stray Children, or made it important to Deltarune in some way.Either way you can see the Undertale/Deltarune influence a lot in the game.

>>735108829I got an ok PC recently and I honestly have no idea what games I should play. I feel like I played a lot of the games I wanted back when I had a console. Any ideas? I was honestly thinking about just modding the fuck out of skyrim and doing a playthrough, though I don't know if my PC can handle it considering it's not some top tier PC and just ok-ish.
I just started playing Ace Combat 7, and now I'm wondering why I put it off for so long. It's great, and all the missions have been fun so far other than the obligatory "sneak through holes in the enemy radar net" one.I've also been enjoying the additions to Monster Train 2. The added enemy variety was sorely needed, and more clans are always welcome. I'm finding Wurmkin more interesting and fun to use than in the first game.
I'm enjoying Cyberpunk. It's basically the closest thing I'll ever get again to a Deus Ex game. Haven't done much of the story , been running around doing gigs and side stuff.
>>735125636ok, Moshe.

>>735108829I'm looking forward to Alabaster Dawn a lot. It's the Crosscode guys new project. I don't think it will be a revolutionary 10/10 game but the demo felt like gamer chicken noodle soup. I've been playing Dr. Robotnik's Ring Rcaers almost exclusively for months and have also been working on a map pack because the game is so good it has burrowed its way deep into my heart.I really love vidya, you guys.
>>735126172Go mod that Skyrim anon, see how far you can push it till it breaks. My advice though and this is important modding advice, is testing your game often and not dumping a mountain of mods all at once. Will save you hours of headache if you encounter a bug/mod conflict then you can easily remove the culprit
>>735108829I'm playing Khazan and it's really good, surprisingly so
>>735129930>map packyou the guy who considered adding facing worlds into ring racers?
>>735126172You should mod. The only time Skyrim will chug is if you use ENBs or large texture files. Stay far away from Dyndolod. If you want the game to look better, you can try reshade's and slightly tweak it if need be, or go for Community Shaders. Both are very easy options and neither will heavily impact the game. Some ENBs do run well on lower-end machines, but ENBs WILL have an impact on performance.
>>735130037Yeah. I'm working on the first battle map of the pack right now, but Facing Worlds'll probably be next. The hard part is probably gonna be figuring out how to make the rotating skybox work.
no. i dont "like" things because im not a retarded zoomoid
>>735130128fucking basedI don't usually see threads about the game but I want to see the map when you finish itdo you usually post somewhere in particular?
>>735129943Khazan was ok, it's like a better nioh. The one area it is very weak is group fights. In fromsoft games fighting like 4 guys at once is a lot of fun because you can dodge and weave with unlocked camera and attacks in general have decent horizontal coverage. In Khazan you have like zero poise and unlocked attacks feel like ass. Never feels fun fighting multiple enemies in Khazan.
I 100% the coffin of andy and leyley in 10 hours and I have no desire to play it again until it updates, but I cant stop thinking about it and listening to the soundtrack. I'm glad I gave it a chance. I usually play actual games and not vns or walking rpgm games like this. It's not the crazy incest game that people painted it as, it's not some tumblr shit or allegory for depression either. It's a very gothic work in the actual genre sense and qutie funny in that way and the exploration of the 2 main character's relationship is very interesting.I like these songshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgdUw93s8fUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRF4s-F1tRAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOjx3k08WVw
>>735120182A mixture of 1 and 2 would've been my preferred ME. I still love them, I play them every now and then, sometimes 3.A few months ago I gave Andromeda another chance and... I don't know, it's not that bad. Story wise, it is bad. But gameplay wise, it's pretty fun and I got a few mods to make it even better. I unironically would say I enjoy it more than i do 3 at this point, and if it wasn't for Citadel DLC, I probably would put Andromeda higher.
>>735130182It'll be on the official mod database that most people seem to post their maps on, but if a thread shows up while I'm working on it I'll probably post images of it.

>>735108829I've been playing a lot of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. I got it day one and was so disappointed. You had to grind for better gear like an MMO otherwise your bullets would just magically suck. So much shit on the screen, it really was like that meme of twenty different widgets on the hud at once. But I gave it another try lately, between Breakpoint and The Division 2, and it's a lot better with immersive mode. Now you can choose what you want to see and what you have. No more chasing numbers, can remove the mini-map and icons so you don't know where every enemy is at all times, and some other things. The AI isn't particularly smart, but at least there's some thought into them. Breachers approach you with a shotgun, Snipers are deadly accurate, riflemen keep you pinned down, so on. The Drones still fucking suck, like I want to like them, but every encounter I have with them is negative. It's not perfect, obviously, but despite all that, I'm having a lot of fun.Does anybody have experience with The Division 2 recently? It's 90GBs, and I don't want to download a game that huge and not dig it.

>>735121690>end timesPeople have predicted the end of the world for forever. Yeah its pretty gnarly in a lot of places, but I don't think its the end times yet. And even if it is, shouldn't we be trying to make the most of what little time we have? And who is to say we are guaranteed a tomorrow? This may have been the last day on earth for one of us browsing this thread- that could be me for all I know! Life is shorter than we like to think.
>>735135356>believing in the end times at allAs you've been reading this I've just sucked out your soul through this 4chan post. Now you've been cursed to Hell for all eternity.

>>735135406I have been saved by Jesus Christ, so I won't be getting separated from him anymore. The end times are a real possibility, but no one knows when it'll happen. Even a few months ago I believe there were lots of people thinking the rapture was going to happen. In the 1800s a lot of people infamously predicted that too, leading to a few days of quiet dissappointment. 2012 was supposed to be the end according to the Mayan calendar. Y2K before that. We'll keep hearing prediction after prediction until it really does happen. In the mean time, we may not be alive to see it happen. I wouldn't be worried about the end times predictions.

I've been fucked out of time but I'm surprised E33 somehow actually is that good so far. It's not perfect and there are things I'm not too sure about, but overall I'm really, really liking it and struggle to remember the last time I thoroughly enjoyed a game this much.
>>735111168nice anon, I had a very similar experience with itI think a big part of what made it so gripping for me is its party members, I especially loved this little retard

I didn't expect it to be another 2.5D sidescroller about picking up and manipulating things, so far I feel like Mischief Makers did more with the idea but I'll see how I feel by the end of the game.Games are fun!
>>735129218There was a wonderful Secret of Evermore thread last year that I'm glad I participated in. It's nice to know that even /v/ can appreciate a game that is completely outside public consciousness and do it while bringing up many great points, appreciating and critiquing it in a reasonable manner and just showing love to a great game forgotten by time. Also gushing over Fire-Eyes, but she's a childhood crush of mine so I will allow it.

>>735108829Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shill much? Buy an ad or smth idk lolBeen playing Lucid Blocks recently, fun being able to explore surrealist locations and seeing what you can find but I do also kinda wish you had more innate inventory space because you eventually end up with like a bunch of tools + various odd knick knacks and blocks you kinda don't really know what to do with, especially since as you go deeper into the world the less likely you're gonna be able to find your way back to any safe areas/the surface without either dying and respawning at your respawn anchor or trying to finagle your way back up to previous qualia layers
>>735140279Don't be. I've been practicing grenades and it's been a little more fun.

Have you ever noticed how critical people who play games are towards flaws? It's nowhere nearly as prominent in other mediums. Like it takes one bad thing to ruin the whole experience, everything has to be perfect or the game is shit.I've been enjoying more low (no) budget indies with obvious problems recently, but they work and do things that many other games never achieve.I think good taste isn't about what you deny yourself from playing, it's about whether you understand what makes something enjoyable or not.

>>735140975>Have you ever noticed how critical people who play games are towards flaws? It's nowhere nearly as prominent in other mediums. Like it takes one bad thing to ruin the whole experience, everything has to be perfect or the game is shit.First of all - videogame players initially had and still has a fuckload of autists.Second - not EVERYTHING has to be perfect, most parts has to be "okay", some are allowed to be shitty on behalf of something else being perfect - but not all game features fall under that particular rule.As VIDEOgame contains a lot of visual - visual design and character designs specifically must not be below "okay" under any circumstances. That is, character can be ugly - but impressively ugly or charismatically ugly. If a character is "bland ugly" (random mug off the street a.k.a. photorealism) or is intentionally designed with only a little flaw - it is unacceptable. And on behalf of a lot of vidya players being autistic AND with a lot of experience of observing good proportions (including facial) and vastly stylized, but still balanced (within that style) proportions AND posessing a very great attention to details and very good pattern recognition skills (again because of autism and coping mechanisms for interacting with the rest of the world and normal people) vast disproportions (relatively to real life faces) shall be interpreted as stylized, while small, insignificant deviations ignored by normal people shall be interpreted by autists as "this particular 0.005 mm of nail in otherwise smooth surface hurts my palm and irritates beyond the measure ruining the entire experience".
>>735142003It's because gamers have a hobby that requires people to use their brains and non gamers tend to float aimlessly through life like the rock dude from jojo.
>>735142003>gamers are autistic so you need good character designsi am also autistic and i have recently played "parasite" traditional roguelike. it's ass ugly and used sample vector icon packs for everything, but the idea is fun and gameplay is quite good. it's not worth the money, but i haven't really played anything like it in an open, procedural world with emergent mechanics. i think there's also some ai art.so no, you're wrong. games can be fucking ugly and still be at least engaging to play. i enjoyed my time with it, but it wasn't great.
i love u frens rn i leik re9 very much it made me hapi :) tank u
>>735108829Yesterday I beat Dragon Slayer IV: Drasle Family AKA Legacy of the Wizard. What a neat game, and what a charming idea to have the whole family work together like this. I doubt I could have brought myself to finish this as a kid, but it really is nowhere near as obtuse as it seems at first. Also, damn, check out the size difference between the dad and the mom on this cover. In-game they're both just 16x16 sprites but turns out he's absolutely monstrous.
>>735142194Post screenshots. And, while you're are it, reread my post, particulary part about uglyness and impressiveness-blandness. Screenshots i see do not contain "bland ugly".Although it also occurs to me, that you might be just an advertiser, so, just in case, buy an ad, shill.
Been playing Hades 2. Fucking great, although I feel like it's sometimes throwing too much shit at you, so things can feel messy. Did we really need to add elements to every boon so there's now even more shit to take into account and another rare category of boon you need to find? That said the game is fantastic and I'm having a blast. Like fuck, I have like 32 hours and I only just found out Ares even exists at all in this game. They do a good job of constantly keeping you interested with new points of progression. Also holy fuck Darren Korb outdid himself with the soundtrack god damn he doesn't miss>mfw I get to the boss and the hard synths kick inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OVWM3Nkxc8
>>735108829I started Nioh 3 yesterday, but i gave up on the very first boss 30 mins in or something. I just couldnt be bothered. Years and thousands of hours of soulslikes burned me out. There is nothing to play for me
>>735143117happened to me as wellnow I play survival games, not to survive, but to build a cozy house, feels like a retirement
>>735108829A cat is fine too
>>735143230What do you play? I dont like multiplayer games, needs to be single player.
>>735128916>planning out the individual movesI kneel to this tism
>>735108829Played some 99 nights the other day on Xenia for the first time in years. Felt great

i'm playing civ6 and i like itsoon i will get addicted to from the depths again
Castlevania Circle of the Moon. 3rd castlevania after Symphony of the night and Castlevania 1 fds. the corridor was easier than death in cv1.
I played Lucid Blocks for 9 hours straight on sunday, it's been a while since I've been obsessed with a game for that long, something about the esoteric crafting system makes me go nuts>>735134046>>735112313nice cats! Here's a pic I took with my DS of my old cat Hector, he used to sit on my lap and while I played Twilight Princess and mess with the Wii nunchuck wire
>>735136682Dont know how far along you are but yeah, I recently finished it and it's one of my favorite games of all time now. I dont usually care about stories in videogames. Mostly because they're usually shit.e33 does everything well. story, combat, music, artstyle. the worst parts of the game you could point to are those gestral beach minigames which are all terrible. but they're also completely optional and have nothing to do with anything storywise. other than that, maybe the linearity of the levels themselves
>>735144402>something about the esoteric crafting system makes me go nutsit's all fun and games until you end up with an inventory full of items that all lead to MORE VOMIT BLOCKS AGAIN REEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>735144479I could work out some stuff on just instinct but then there was also a ton of unexpected outcomes too? I still have no idea how it works but I'm not going to look up a guide as it's more fun working it out myselfit feels like what alchemy should be like, moreso than noitaIt actually reminded me of Homestuck
>>735144402oh it actually came out
I am playing Jak and Daxter for the first time, I like it better than Crash Bandicoot
>>735108829Can't decide if I should replay Hotline Miami, Charlie Murder or Dark Messiah of Might and Magic next.
>>735108829Anyone I've seen use this cat as an avatar always turns out to be the most vile insufferable cunt imaginable. It's like they all read the same anger management book.
>>735144828It is very fun finding new item combos, especially ones that're not too much of a hassle to make that result in really useful items since navigation tools are basically a necessity for exploring deeper layers or finding tiamanas. Not 100% sure if they're randomized between qualia saves but from what I've found Glaggle Token + String = Light Pincer which is just a torch and Silicone Crystal + Plum Axe = Multitool
>>735108829Finally started Tonic Trouble after 30 fuckin' years of telling myself I'll get to it eventually. Pretty OK so far and I fapped to the doctor's daughter.
>>735108829almost all video games are incredibly boring. currently I like deadlock street brawl, league of legends aram, and I'm playing through modded new vegas.
>>735145161And German. Always German.
>>735108973Well the nigger store called and they're running out of you.
>>735108829I hated gacha games all my life. Started playing Arknights 5 years after the game was released and now I'm having a blast. This game is better than most non gacha games. I should have learned not to judge a book by its cover because I trashed WoW back in the day, then tried it and had a blast for about 3 years until I quit.
>>735135356>>735135406>>735135636The end of times is mostly about the fall of the jews.
>>735129092I've played a fuck ton of different games, I could honestly go for any recommendation. If I had to give some idea, I'd go for any game that allows you to immerse yourself and easily dump hours doing shit because it's fun and time passes quickly. So something with a story, interesting mechanics, maybe autistic. For example I played Pathfinder WOTR recently and dumped 100 hours on it, thought it was fun. It was my first one out of these tabletop on the computer type of games (CRPG they're called right?). I've played shit like Elin. I don't mind weeb games, I've enjoyed the personas, Tales of games too. I don't mind more normalfag shit like Farcry, Elden Ring (or the souls games) or Dying Light, nor indie games. One of my favorite games is Terraria. Since I've had a console for a while, I just played a bunch games from there. Mostly whatever was on goypass and whatever I bought, but I always thought that the console was limiting my options and that if I bought a PC I'd play more stuff, but now I have no idea what I could possibly be missing out on. Anyway, I'm probably modding the fuck out of skyrim for now.
>>735142003Shame that you need to explain this on a vidya forum. Kinda basic.>>735140975Be ashamed.

>>735149159You mean A Hard Day's Knight? I played and beat it last year after some /v/ anon posted some cool screenshots of it. Fuck those swamp monsters who can kill you in an instant, I wasn't aware of the way the numbers of the remaining mobs grows throughout the game and leaving the area with them for last made for a really stressful time.
>>735149747Rude
>>735108829I don't know if I like it, but Jak and Daxter looks fucking amazing on PC. I'd probably have dropped it if it wasn't for that. Playing it through https://opengoal.dev/
>>735148623Damn that's crazy, I'm still here 9 hours later. You sound like a good guy. Here are some random recs. Most of these games you can play for hundreds of hours. Modding skyrim is a hollow experience but I understand you need to get it out of your system. You're better off saving all that time and just playing Dragons Dogma though- (Medieval sandbox autistic world domination) Mount and Blade Warband or Bannerlord- (Fantasy action adventure isekai) Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen or just go straight to 2. DA is better, but 2 is a fun adventure as well with better graphics. despite what people say. I have over 1000 hours in dark arisen. The people that shit on the sequel were never fans- (anime roguelike) BlazBlue Entropy Effect. Creating builds in this game is very fun, lots of different characters to play, game rewards your time, looks great, skins to unlock, highscores to aim for, runs are quick unless you're autistic and minmaxing room rewards- (anime platformer rpg) ASTLIBRA Revision. Give it a try, it's just pure kino.- (turn based combat crpgs) Divinity Original Sin 2- (diablo style arpgs) Diablo 2, Last Epoch, Path of Exile 1, Grim Dawn- (random space action roguelike arpgs whatever) Nova Drift, Synthetik, KILL KNIGHT, Metal Bringer- (space autism) Starsector. It's not on Steam- (drug dealer sandbox) Schedule I- (business sandbox) Big Ambitions- (physics magic sandbox) Noita- (Driving) Tokyo Xtreme Racer- (star wars) Batllefront 2, Knights of the old Republic 1+2, Jedi Knight series
playing Omega Ruby right now, and Im going through the super rotation format in the Maison. got to 50, and im wondering if anyone has a good team comp for beating it easily? dont wanna blow this at the finish line, and i dont believe the team i used to get here is a sure win

>>735155710And you're the other extreme of retards. DD2 is an amazing game, and no it's not perfect. But a disgrace? Come off it.

>>735108829I like civ 5

>>735157990I'd play the hell out of the FFXIII Trilogy HD remaster. Love the weird world it has and the art direction would look beautiful with higher res textures.
what's that? a city?
>>735155710>While this is a good listThank you. I hope any anon who reads it finds at least one title that gives him hours of fun>you are an absolut giga nigger:(People seem to enjoy getting very emotionally charged about dd2 and so I dont care to argue with you. I would just say that I treat art / media / any work as IT IS in reality and as what the author was trying to accomplish with it. Not how I THINK it should be or what I think I deserve. DD2 is a letdown in many ways, of course it is. It's a retread of the problems of Dark Arisen. They showed they learned nothing and on top of that it's badly optimized. But as a videogame it is still better than most games out there. That's not arguable. And on a genre level there arent that many experiences like it out there. There really aren't. It's still a solid 40 hour fantasy adventure game. We just expected it to be a 400-4000 hour game
>>735108829What the fuck happened to Front Mission after the third entry? The first three games had very strong visuals and audio, but afterwards the series turned into bland, uninspired slop. It’s like they outsourced the development to some irrelevant third party. I’ve heard that Final Fantasy Spirits Within basically destroyed Square, but I don’t know the details.
>>735158173Expanded upon existing vocations, better animations, smoother combat, pawns have been improved not only in their AI, but also the hiring system, and the world is generally done better. As if you're going to reply with anything other than dismissal. Or will you complain that you can't make a loli pawn anymore?
yep, too foggycan't see shitit has nice upbeat ambienceit's silent hill with shopping mall music
>>735150006Sure, really stressful, but that's the thing with old games. Awesome sprites and cool concept. Any upcoming game you look forward? Metroidvania, maybe?

>>735159754I pretty much agree with everything you said and think it's a fair assessment. It doesn't change what I said thoughbeit, as I partly expressed the same sentiment in less words. Forget DA, or say you already played DA 10+ years ago. Just say you were a gamer on the market looking for an enjoyable open world fantasy adventure. In this context, there isn't much out there and DD2 is a very solid choice because presumably you've already played Skyrim and Kenshi
>>735159095It's not that I don't play new games, but I haven't been actively paying much attention to upcoming stuff for a couple of years now, so the only thing that comes to mind is the Maze of Galious re-imagining the guys behind La-Mulana announced a few years back. Really looking forward to seeing what they've got planned there.
>>735160405Curious. That's an interesting choice. Waiting for Crownsworn and other than that craving trpg and crpg, but it is not looking bright. Playing me trilogy and fellseal rn. Unfortunately fell seal is ugly and has a subpar story. Mechanically it's a solid fft clone. Low key expecting ffta/2 as bundle for ps5, but... Well.

I'm legitimately concerned about the longevity of my consoles and availability of parts/replacements because I genuinely think I might have to drop out of "modern" gaming eventually.Never mind that I want to know if off grid gaming is possible
i like all video games. they just don't like me.it's the same as with women.
>>735158428Hey ZoomerFinal Fantasy XIII is already HD
>>735108829I'm playing Deception 1 since I'm gonna go through the franchise after only playing 2 before. I was not ready for how jank this would be.I love the atmosphere but not having trap chains, having to run all the way to a crystal to place new traps, having to use mask items to make the ai actually play the game, the lol lmao ability of invaders just being able to randomly dodge, the practically pointless rpg elements, the pointless castle making mechanic, monster summoning, mp system, etcIt's still cool though man is it really repetitive since you can't really do crazy stuff.
>>735161509>I'm legitimately concerned about the longevity of my consoleswhat? why? modern consoles last forever. if youre an oldfag just emulate
>>735110518Does it emulate well and easy now?Any clue if it emulates well on steam deck?
