She got more personality and a backstory that was shown + had a very good voice actor + she acts closer to a normal person in her situation than they did. Jill and Claire are a little too badass and only got decent VAs recently along with most of their background being lore or merely mentioned.

Claire voice actor in RE2 is better than her remake version. Jills voice actor in the og RE3 on PS1 is the best voice actor she ever had from any of the women who voiced her.
