If it weren’t for its remake status this game would be heralded as one of the absolute perfect ones along with Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VII.

Still is, in my mind. This is the only good videogame remake ever made.

still needs the 10gb mod to fix all of the textures. its pretty bad looking otherwise
>>
why are remakes in gaming always treated with immediate disdain but movie remakes aren't? The Thing is a remake and that's considered a classic.
>>
The original versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 are already OOT/FF7 tier games.

What reality do you live in where remakes are not immediately derided until they prove otherwise? The problem is there are not enough people that care, and many more people that will go watch the next Disney remake so they don't have to parent their kids for a couple hours.

RE1, RE2, RE3, RECV, REmake, and RE4 are GOAT'd
>>
>>735116612
Wrong. Movie remakes are treated much worse. Look at the Robocop remake.
The Thing is not a remake, it's a completely separate and unique adaption of the original source material. See also: Dredd.

It's actually the opposite. Most movie remakes are hated and ridiculed, and for good reason, while retards eat up the disgusting slop that video game companies serve them, like the SH2 remake or MGS3 remake.

>why are remakes in gaming always treated with immediate disdain but movie remakes aren't?
You must be joking. People are sick to death of movie remakes, sequels, and prequels.
>The Thing is a remake and that's considered a classic.
The Thing is considered one of the few remakes that's better than the original. Ironically, it bombed on release, making only $21 million on a $15 million budget. It wasn't popularly well-regarded until years later.

>putting in CV alongside 1-4
bold opinion

RE1 remake is retarded as shit. The whole mansion is a billion year old vampire's gothic castle. RETARDED

YOURE SUBTARDED

No it isn't you fucking retard. Remaking old movies was common practice in those days. So commonplace that there are at least dozens of movies you like that you don't even know were remakes, and they're all better than the original
